Abstract

Selection of the appropriate grinding parameters are needed and grinding parameters that affect the quality of surface roughness such as rotation speed grinding machines, the speed of rotation of the workpiece using the coolant medium is coolant mixture is in the form of palm oil additives RBDO with calcium hypochlorite. Coolant mixture is obtained based on the results of research that has been done by Buma in 2014. This study used three variations of round rotation workpieces are low speed (83 rpm), medium speed (194 rpm) and high speed (304 rpm). Likewise with varying depth of cut is 0.005 mm, 0.010 mm, 0.015 mm. This test is a variation on the round grinding machine and workpiece feeds depth very big influence on the surface roughness. In this case can be concluded that the greater the level of rotational speed of the workpiece and the depth of feeds, then the smaller the surface roughness value is in the variation of the rotational speed of the workpiece at a speed of 304 rpm with a depth of 0.015 mm Ingestion is worth 0.84 μm. The lower level of the rotational speed of the workpiece and the depth of feeds, the greater the surface roughness value is in the variation of the rotational speed of the workpiece at a speed of 83 rpm with a depth of 0,005 mm Ingestion is worth 2.43 μm.Keywords: Surface roughness, Grinding machine, Depht of feeds and Depht of cut

Abstract

Design for assembly is one of systems analysis to assembling components, simultaneously, throughout the products from beginning of process design. As result, obstacles to get assembly could be minimalizing before components production. DFA analysis will be obtaining the value of efficiency on assembly. Through this way, the efficiency value of machine prototype to separating waste, both, ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials can be achieved. Furthermore, efficiency value on assembly of prototype design is 14.22% at 548.47 seconds theoretically. The efficiency value of prototype after production and assembling process on actual condition is 11.83% at 658.88 seconds. The distinction from these efficiency values is caused by difficulty on assembly of the belt roller and sub assembly of base support on motor. As consequences, the time to get assembly will take more time on actual condition rather than theoretically.Keywords : Design For Assembly (DFA), Efisiency Assembly

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of motor velocity and magnetic force upon the production capacity on the centrifuge prototype of the ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic material waste based on the calculation of production capacity, induced magnetic attraction, and the ratio of separated ferromagnetic material with non-ferromagnetic material. The research is experimental research with the numbers of sample ratio of ferromagnetic material waste is 50% and non-ferromagnetic waste is 50%. Based on the conducted tests and calculations, the results are 1) the maximum production on centrifuge prototype of the ferromagnetic metal waste and non-metal is 0.0313 kg/s, 2) the obtained magnetic electricity attraction is 5,75 N, and 3) The amount of ferromagnetic material that mostly separated from the mixture of ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic material waste in ferromagnetic tub is when the engine rotation indicates 20 rpm and the magnetic force indicates 4,85 N.Keywords: Belt Conveyor, Magnetic Electricity, Production Capacity

Abstract

Vernier calliper is very much used either by measurement laboratories and production. Vernier calliper measurement tools necessary to calibrate each period of 12 months, with a calibration done will determine the value of the correction/error and the value of the measurement uncertainty of measuring instruments vernier calliper. In this study calibration of vernier calliper follow the standard JIS B 7507 - 1993 at which the standard has been described specification requirements vernier calliper. Based on the results of the calibration has been done vernier calliper I have a maximum error of 0.00042 mm and the value of the uncertainty confidence level at 95% with a coverage factor of k = 2 is U95 = ±59.02 μm, vernier callipers II has a maximum error of 0.01994 mm and uncertainties confidence level at 95% with a coverage factor of k = 2 is U95 = ±59.42 μm. Abstract

Activities to determine the truth value of the appointment of a conventional measuring instruments and measuring ingredients by comparing against a standard measure that traceable to a national standard for the unit of measure and internationally is the purpose of the calibration so that the existing external micrometer screw in Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Measurements can be seen Riau University how much difference deviation between the right price with the price indicated by an external micrometer screw. In the external calibration process micrometer screws there are six components , namelymeasurement uncertainty: Uncertainty measuring gauge block, standard uncertainty micrometer resolution , standard uncertainty able to re- reading of the micrometer , standarduncertainty the effect of temperature , standard uncertainty geometric correction , wringing standard uncertainty. As a result of analysis obtained values Value uncertainty of measuringdevices external I micrometer screw at a rate of 95% coverage factor of k = 2 is U95 = ± 5,8092 mm with a gauge factor correction tool = 0,00025 mm. The uncertainty of the value ofan external measuring instrument micrometer screw II at a rate of 95% coverage factor of k = 2 is U95 = ± 5,8092 mm by measuring factor correction tool = 0,00025 mm. Abstract

Generally, the agriculturist applying the fertilization method by spread fertilize around the plants. This procedure is efficient enough but its effectiveness is poor. Fertilizer applicationby immersing in palm disc area will increase the efficient and effective uptake of NPK by plants, furthermore increase plants productivity, save the quantity of fertilize application, anddecrease environmental pollution. The purpose of this research is to design and create tugal in masking fertilize palm that capable of rapidly perforation. The method of this research is used to get information about the fertilization technique. After finding the information process, measurement tools that already exist is done, it's used plow or tilling machine, the toolredrawn and tugal revelation which be install on tools. After the drawing had done, do the print out of drawing, furthermore do the manufacturing process. According to the calculated, we get tugal's diameter design was 7,62 cm, length 20 cm, whereas tugal's position within 44,48 cm from central wheel, the maximum safety factor was 15, whereas displacementmaximum 0,02054 mm and displacement minimum 0 mm, the result shows that tugal's system is save to used. Time fertilization system manual unknown 3 hours, 30 minutes perhectar, whereas fertilization with tugal's system was shorter time, that is 1 hours 28 minutes.Keywords: land punch, tugal, fertilization mechanism.

Abstract

Machining process is a manufacturing process in which the object is formed by removing or abolishing most of the material of the object works. Reason used machining process is to obtain accuracy than other processes such as casting process, forming and also to provide a form of the inside of a particular object. This study aimed to obtain the test roundness data of the aluminum shaft using Roundness Tester Machine, process and analyze the test data. This test method 10 points in each axis. The three feeding is used (0.082 mm / rev, 0.114 mm / rev, 0.143 mm / rev) data obtained unanimity the most good at feeding 0.114 mm / rev that is Minimum circumscribed circle 0.045 to 0.229, the Maximum inscribed circle 0,046 to 0,249, Minimum radial zone 0.052 to 0.237, Least Squares Circles 0,024 to 0.134. Based on research data using a lathe turning type LZ 350 Lathe better roundness deviation is second with a feeding shaft 0.114 mm / rev net by a correction factor Roundness Tester Machine is between 0.018 mm to 0.133 mm and the average value of 0.058 mm. The test results obtained are not in accordance with the theory of reference, it should be feeding the lowest (0.082) which has a roundness deviation which was better than feeding 0.114 and 0.143, this can be due to (Humman error) operators put the test center axis or not alignemnt, specify datum turning and lathes Lathe LZ 350 type is not in optimal performance.Keywords: Machining, Roundness, Roundness Tester Machine

Abstract

The warehouse management is a system to manage a storage and handling of goods and material, which are stored and distributed in a right time, amount and the specification. The Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering, University of Riau is equipped with goods and material to support its activities. Hence, it is needed a system to manage the storage and handling of such equipments in optimal manner. Recently, the warehousingat the Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering, University of Riau has been used the manual system. Subsequent, there was not optimal to manage activities in the laboratory such as time consuming, mess of storage, difficulty in finding data equipments, etc. This research aim is to design and develop a warehouse management system of the Laboratory in Mechanical Engineering, Riau University. A method of 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and the warehouse laboratory based information system were implemented in this research. Stages to construct the information system of warehouse management were: the design of database system, the menu structure, sub-systems and the display model of interface system (users interface). This systemwas developed using the programming language of the PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) and MySQL as the database. The information system of laboratory based-computerization was useful for managing and monitoring the activities in Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering in form of incoming or outgoing the data of goods and material. While, the design of warehouse layout of facilities in laboratory of Mechanical Engineering, University of Riau used the 5S method, was produced clean and neatly arranged of the equipments and tools.Keywords : Warehouse management, 5S Method, PHP, MySQL, Information System.

Abstract

The lathe is a machine tool used to cut cylindrical workpieces. On the lathe, the direction of tailstock movement follows the surface contour board machine guide ways. If there is uniformity flatness on the bottom of the machine, it will affect the precision of the lathe. The purpose of this study is to determine and evaluate the flatness deviation value in guide ways of lathes GDW LZ 350. The method used is to measure the guide ways on a lathe using a measuring instrument digi-pas DWL-200, to obtain a deviation value as a reference process leveling machine pedestal. Results obtained from this study is a guide ways flatness deviation average value of 0,1o, general flatness deviation occurs at both ends of the guide ways, the machine MB3 and MB4 flatness deviation occurs is not uniform between the guide way 1 and 2, it caused by the tilt position of guide ways.
