Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan karakter adalah salah satu pendidikan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap insan sebagai bentuk perwujudan dari nilai moral dan budi pekerti. Pendidikan karakter mengajarkan tentang karakter cinta kepada Tuhan YME, kejujuran, sopan santun, baik, rendah hati, dan sikap lainnya yang merupakan nilai-nilai luhur yang universal. Pada Era Global ini pendidikan karakter sudah mulai hilang. Apabila perkembangan di era ini tidak disertai dengan pendidikan karakter maka dampak negatiflah yang akan muncul di segala bidang, salah satunya bidang pendidikan. Untuk mencegah hal tersebut, maka pendidikan karakter itu dapat disisipkan dalam materi pembelajaran di sekolah. Pendidikan karakter ini dapat juga diberikan melalui budaya daerah yang disisipkan dalam matei pembelajan. Salah satu materi pembelajaran tersebut adalah materi pembelajaran puisi rakyat. Puisi rakyat adalah salah satu bentuk sastra lama dan sastra lisan yang didalamnya memuat pendidikan karakter dengan mempertahankan budaya. Contoh materi puisi rakyat yang berisi pendidikan karakter adalah matei pantun. Materi ini sangat sesuai digunakan sebagai pendidikan karakter karena didalamnya memuat nilai-nilai luhur yang merupakan warisan budaya yang meliputi nila moral, nilai agama, dan nila budi pekerti. Melalui materi ini diharapkan dapat mengenal budaya dan belajar nilai-nila luhur melalui makna tersirat dala puisi rakyat sebagai salah satu media pendidikan karakter di lingkungan sekolah. Abstract

This study examines magical realism in the novel Langgam Nyi Bagelen by Yusuf Mahessa Dewo Pasiro. The purpose of the study is to explain that magical and sacred things are not something new and considered unusual, but have different thoughts. The magical world and reality are two elements side by side. This type of research is qualitative. The research design used is a sociological literary approach with theory magical realism from Wendy B. Faris. Data acculumation techniques used documentation and data analysis with descriptive analysis. The Langgam Nyi Bagelen novel leads to the flow of magical realism literature by containing the legend of Nyi Bagelen and the Bagelen culture. The results and discussion of the study show that the novel contains characteristics from Wendy B. Faris consisting of illogical elements (irreducible elements), real world elements (phenomenal world), disturbing doubt elements (unsettling doubt), mixed elements of the real and magical worlds (merging realism), and elements of disruptions to time, space, and identity (disruptions of time, space, and identity). The five characteristics of magical realism in the Langgam Nyi Bagelen novel can be used as a means of cultural expression. This study provides knowledge about the magical elements found in novels that can reflect the social life of society and authors who use magical realism narratives to highlights social and political issues.

Abstract

Many environmental problems are currently emerging due to human greed, which exploits natural resources excessively without considering the future effects. For example, in the novel Menanam adalah Melawan, which tells of a plan for iron sand mining that threatens thousands of hectares of productive agricultural land in Kulon Progo. This incident ultimately gave birth to characters who reject the discourse that damages the environment. This study aims to describe the depiction of environmental problems in the novel Menanam adalah Melawan using Greg Garrard's ecocritical approach.. This research is a qualitative type using the data analysis method stated by Miles and Huberman. The primary data source in this study is the novel Menanam adalah Melawan by Widodo. The primary data in this study are words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs that indicate the depiction of the environment in relation to humans. The results of this study reveals environmental ethics, namely respect for nature, the principle of responsibility, cosmic solidarity, the principle of compassion and concern for nature, the principle of not harming, the principle of living simply and in harmony with nature, the principle of democracy, and the principle of moral integrity.. Then, it reveals the forms of environmental damage, divided into several discussions according to Garrard's approach, namely pollution, wilderness, apocalypse, and dwelling. Then, it reveals the impact of environmental damage depicted in the novel Menanam adalah Melawan. Finally, the research findings are distributed to the Indonesian language learning outcomes of Phase F, grade XI, specifically the writing element, within the context of a review text.
