Abstract

This article discusses the main problem that is how the nature of hanif in the view of the Koran, both in terms of forms of expression, types, and their influence in social life. The word hanif is usually interpreted as "straight" or "inclined toward something". This word was originally used to describe the soles of the feet and their slope to the soles of their partners, the right leaning towards the left, and the left leaning towards the right. This makes humans able to walk straight. That straightness makes the pedestrian not lean to the left, nor to the right. Hanif describes a heart that is clean from envy and envy, a heart that is inclined towards monotheism and far from shirk, a heart that is in love with the hereafter and hates the charming world, a heart that is clean from lust that can hinder itself with God's prohibition, a heart that is far from doubtful which can prevent him from receiving the message of God in the Koran. So the person who has the soul of hanif is someone who is soft-hearted as soft as cotton, smooth as smooth as a hair.

Abstract

It is important to independently propose a study of the protocol (misaq). There’s a lot to explore about this topic, depending on what perspective and approach is used. At the same time, the views of tafsir (Qur’anic) and hadiths are still rarely touched upon. Independent study from the perspective of the Qur’an is an urgent attempt to obtain a complete view of this object. From the tracing of the misaq scriptures and the exposition of related research, it can be seen that the firm covenant of man and god (misaqan ghalizan) in the first three aspects, the covenant between man and God in the context of the implementation of religious teachings, is confirmed in the womb of man while he is still in the womb, second, the covenant between God and the prophet to publish his treatises, and the third is the covenant of harmony and peace between husband and wife. All these treaties are again firmly bound and will be accounted for in the future.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of the salamatul fitrah (nobility or purity of fitrah) in Surah Yusuf. The nobility of fitrah refers to the natural condition of humans who are born with a tendency to seek truth, goodness and beauty. This article reviews how humans can maintain the nobility of their fitrah through taqwa and obedience to Allah. In Surah Yusuf, taqwa is shown by the Prophet Yusuf when he refused the offer of adultery from Potiphar's wife even though it could give her worldly benefits. This concept teaches that humans must always maintain the nobility of their fitrah and always try to get closer to Allah. In Surah Yusuf, the nobility of fitrah can be seen from the character of Prophet Yusuf who always seeks truth and justice in the face of various obstacles. He also showed firmness of faith and patience in the face of severe trials. Apart from that, the concept of nobility of fitrah can also be seen in the attitude of Potiphar (the Egyptian dignitary) who bought Yusuf, as well as in the story of the Prophet Yusuf's brothers who were faced with jealousy and envy which led them to bad actions. In conclusion, the concept of the nobility of fitrah in Surah Yusuf teaches people to always improve themselves and face various tests of life with firmness of faith and patience. It is hoped that this article can provide a deeper understanding of the concept of the nobility of fitrah and how humans can improve it through piety and obedience to Allah.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the meaning of the ‘kāfir’ diction in the Quran thematically. The type of research is a literature review with a thematic interpretation approach. Primary data sources consist of the Quran and the book of interpretation (Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab and Tafsīr al-Qur’ān al-Aẓim by Ibn Kaṡir). Secondary data sources consist of Arabic dictionaries, books, and journals that discuss the meaning of the ‘kāfir’ diction. Data were collected using documentation techniques and then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results show that the meaning of the ‘kāfir’ diction in the Quran are (1) denying the existence and oneness of Allah, (2) covering up what is haq (true) or batil (false) and blocking others from Allah, (3) denying to the grace that has been given by Allah, and (4) people who make religion a play. Based on the variety of the ‘kāfir’ diction, it is recommended to Muslim readers not to rush to disbelieve in other Muslims. Because the verdict has social consequences and triggers the birth of a dispute.
