Abstract

Introduction. Lung cancer is the type of non-small cell carcinoma (NSCLC) consists of non-squamous and squamous. Non-small cell lung cancer of non squamous types consist of adenocarcinoma and large cell carcinoma. Currently, lung cancer therapy is highly developed of chemotherapeutic agents to targeted therapy especially EGFR-TKI. This study aims to assess the survival rate of NSCLC patients who receive first line chemotherapy and those who recieve EGFR-TKI therapy at Wahidin Sudirohusodo hospital. Methods. This study is a retrospective study between 2017 to 2019 from the medical records of NSCLC patients who receive first-line chemotherapy and thise who recieve EGFR-TKI. Patients with platinum-based chemotherapy and EGFR-TKI with gefitinib therapy 1x250 mg/day or erlotinib 1x150mg/day and or afatinib 1x40 mg/day. Survival rate assessed from start to erect the diagnosis until the patient dies or when the  study is     discontinued. Result. From 239 subject of NSCLC patients consisted of 135 patients who receive first-line chemotherapy, and 104 patients are treate with EGFR-TKI. Based on the characteristics of the patients, most are more than 40 years old (chemotherapy 124 (91.9%) and EGFR-TKI 101 (97.1%) with the male gender that dominates (chemotherapy 98 (72.6%), EGFR-TKI 64 (61.5%). Smoking patients who received first-line chemotherapy are 65.2% and 61.5% of EGFR-TKIs with chemotherapy highest IB (severe IB 28.9%) and for EGFR-TKI (moderate IB are 26.9%). 73.2% of adenocarcinoma histology type with a predominance of stage IV 86.6% (83.7% for chemotherapy and EGFR-TKI 90.4%). Survival rate of patients are 98,7% for 6 months survival, 1 year survival rate is 94.1% and 2 years survival rate of 24.3%. Median survival patients who receiving EGFR-TKI longer than they received first- line chemotherapy (21 months versus 20 months). The 18 months PFS showed that patients treated with EGFR-TKI were 15 months, while patients receiving chemotherapy was 11 months. (P 0.000). Conclusion. Survival rates in NSCLC patients with EGFR-TKI therapy had significantly the highest survival rates compared with all other chemotherapy. Progression was faster in patients with first-line chemotherapy than EGFR-TKI. The factors that most influence the survival rate is type of therapy with p value<0.05.

Abstract

Background: The study explores the factors that affecting the readiness to (self-directed learning readiness) in the context of PBL is still rare, especially when in fact unprepared students in the initiative and the desire for self-learning, a lack of understanding of students on independent learning and interpretation mischaracterized the self-learning (self directed learning) is still frequently encountered. This study aimed to measure simultaneously identify factors that influence student SDLR in the first, second and third at the Medical Faculty of Hasanuddin University.Method: through two stages (sequencing), which combines two research approaches, namely qualitative as the main approach (dominant) and quantitative approaches as facilitators (less dominant). data collection with questionnaires and focus group discussions. The number of subjects quantitative 399 people (143 people from the first year, 152 the second year and 104 people from the third year), while for FGD about 18 people who set out with purposive sampling. Distributing questionnaires carried out in advance to obtain SDLR categories of high, medium and low, followed by FGD each batch by category SDLRnya. The analysis starts with the transcription process then the coding process. Results: This study shows that the average score lowest SDLR owned by First-year students FK UNHAS while the highest SDLR owned by Second year students. Not found SDLR category lower because students have had plenty of experience of active and independent learning that develops steadily. There are several factors that affect SDLR construct the desire to learn, self-control and self-management.Conclusion: Factors that affect SDLR the first year students, second and third in the FK Unhas divided into two, namely: (1) internal factors which consist of physical health, the availability of leisure time, hobby or avocation, self maturity, and intelligence; (2) external factors which consists of the support of family and friends, faculty facilities, problems, relationships between peers, and the influence of parents and friends

Abstract

Depression is a natural feeling disorder (mood) which is characterized by excessive feelings of sadness, depression, lack of enthusiasm, feeling worthless, feeling that life is empty and hopeless, thinking is centered on failure and self-blame or self-blame, and often accompanied by envy and suicidal thoughts. Depressive disorders can occur in anyone with a higher risk of physical illness, which is about 15-60%. Medical conditions that have long been associated with depressive disorders include primary tension-type headache (TTH). Patients with chronic TTH will experience more severe depression than episodic TTH and chronic headache is significantly associated with psychopathological scores, but the direction of the relationship is not clear. This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of tension-type headaches and the degree of depression. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional research design. To find out the frequency and duration of tension-type headaches, the history and filling of the questionnaire provided were carried out. Then the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) questionnaire was used to assess the degree of depression. Patients with tension headaches were assessed based on The International Headache Classification 2nd Edition in 2004, and pain intensity was assessed based on the NPRS (Numeric Pain Rating Scale) score. The results showed that the Spearman correlation test obtained a significance value of 0.014, a correlation value of 0.399. between the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) score on the subject of tension-type headache, and there is a significant relationship between the intensity of the tension-type headache and depression where the higher the pain intensity, the more severe the pain. degree of depression.
