Abstract

Abstract: The research problem that the writer found is that chemistry learning at class X.10 of SMAN 5 Pekanbaru is not condusive yet. In learning process, students are only as listeners and write notes if teacher write something on board. During learning process, students seldom ask a question. This research is aimed to know the improvement of students learning activity and mastery learning by using Hydrocarbon domino card at X.10 class of SMAN 5 Pekanbaru in academic year 2015/2016. This research is a class action research with two cycles in research design. The sample of this research was X.10 class which was given an action for improvement in learning process by using Hydrocarbon domino card media. The data collection was conducted by observing and giving tests. The data analysis technique was conducted descriptively by using percentage technique. Based on the result of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of Hydrocarbon domino card media can improve students learning activity and completeness at X.10 class of SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. It can be seen by the improvement of students learning activity from 69,72% at the first cycle to 85,97% at the second cycle and students learning completeness from 87,50% at the first cyle to 100% at the second cycle.Key Words : Hydrocarbon Domino Card Media, Learning Completeness, Hydrocarbons

Abstract

Abstract: This is a classroom action research. This research is an attempt to improve student learning activities in chemistry on class XI IPA 5 of SMAN 9 Pekanbaru by applying cooperative model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Improved student learning activity is the activity of asking questions, submit answers or opinions, working on exersices and group discussion, quiz too. There were 36 students of XI IPA 5 SMAN 9 Pekanbaru involved in research that did in four cycles of learning. Each cycle consisted of one meetings through four stages of implementation: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation and test. The result of action showed that activity percentage of students increased and reached the success indicator. Activity of student percentage in first cycle 55,20% with criteria enough, second cycle 62,15% with criteria good, three cycle 66,14% with criteria good and fourth cycle 73,43% with criteria good. The percentage of learning outcomes also increased and reached the success indicator. The average percentage in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th followed by 79,79&, 84,03%, 82,83%, and 99,03%. Based on the result obtained, it can be concluded that application cooperative model of STAD can to increase the activity and student learning outcomes.Keyword : Cooperative Model of STAD, Student Activities, Learning Outcomes Student

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to increase student achievementon the Buffer topic at class XI SMAN 1Sungai Apit. The research is experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of research were the students of class XI 2 as the experimental class and students of class XI 3 as the control class. Experimental class is a class that is used the cooperative learning model think pair share (TPS) while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is t-test. Based on analysis of data obtained that tarithmetic> ttable is 2,70 > 2,00, means that the use of cooperative learning model think pair share (TPS) can improve student achievement on of buffer solution topic the learning increase resect about of 10,56%.Keywords : Learning Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model Think Pair Share (TPS), and Buffer Solution

Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to examine applying Novick learning model to improve students’ crtical thinking skills on the subject of reaction rates. The research method used the quasi-experimental with the Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIA MA Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru in 2018/2019 academic year consisted of 3 classes, and 2 classes random samples was selected, XI MIA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIA 3 as control class. The research instrument are question of reaction rate based on indicators of critical thinking skills. Based of result hypothesis test using the t-test with α = 0.05 obtained tcount> ttable (2,95> 2,02). Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the Novick learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills on the subject of the reaction rate in class XI MIA MA Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru.Keywords : Novick learning model, critical thinking skills, reaction rates.
