The method used in this study is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Determination of the location of the study was conducted purposively with its population was seaweed farmers from ten villages in Kei Kecil as the villages of seaweed production centers. The method of analysis used is the operation analysis of financial and added value analysis method Hayami. The results showed that the cultivation of seaweed and flour mills karaginan feasible to develop. The ratio of added value of 9.05% and in 1997 Hubeis magnitude of the ratio of value added is calculated in accordance with the criteria of low added value ratio <15%.Keywords: Financial Analysis, Added-value, Seaweed, Flour Caragenan

Abstract

This study aimed to quantify the value of profit, the value of break-even point, the added value and the ratio of added value to the processing business of dodol seaweed in Loon Village, Kei Kecil Sub-District, Southeast Maluku District. The method used in this study was a survey method with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The location of the research was determined purposively, where the population was the entrepreneur of dodol seaweed in Loon village. The analytical method used was the analysis of profit, break-even and added value Hayami method.  The results showed that the business of dodol seaweed deserves to be developed with a profit of Rp 26 118 million,- per year. The cumulative gain value (R/C ratio) was 1.77, which means that the processing business of dodol seaweed was feasible because it meets the eligibility criteria value greater than one.  The obtained break-even point value was 1.694 dus, (Rp 11 300) and the cost was Rp 26.97 million.  The added value created from each kilogram of dried seaweed was Rp 197 792, with a ratio of 79.12% of the production value. According to Hubeis (1997), this added value ratio is a high added value category that has a ratio of  > 40%.Keyword : analysis of profit, break even, added value, dodol seaweed.

Abstract

Inflammatory disease in gastric tract called Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), particularly colon, in general, results from the use of non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug, such as indomethacine. The use of natural material, such as mas ngur oyster (Atactodea striata) as traditional medicine has been long known by people in Kei Islands–Southeast Mallucas. This study is aimed at measuring the ability of active compounds of this oyster extract in reducing NF-κB and TNF-α expression and showing the histological image of indomethacine-induced rat ileum with IBD after treatment with mas ngur oyster extract. It used 8-12 week old male rats (Rattus norvegicus) of 150 - 200 g BW. The rats were divided into 3 groups, healthy group, sick group (induced with 15 mg/kg BW of indomethacine), and treatment group (orally induced with indomethacine at a dose of 15 mg/kg BW then treated with mas ngur oyster extract at the dose of 100, 400, 700 mg/kg BW). Indomethacine induction at the dose of 15 mg/kg BW and mas ngur oyster extract therapy were orally administered. NF-κB and TNF-α expressions were measured using immunohistochemicals, and the histological image used Hematoksilin-Eosin staining. Results showed that extract therapy gave significant effect (P<0.05) at the effective dose of 400 mg/kg BW that could reduce 86.421% of NF-κB expression and 60.972% of TNF-α expression in the rat ileum and result in tissue recovery of the IBD rat’s ileum after the therapy.
