Abstract

This study aims to improve the competence and cognitive learning outcomes of PLS students in the anthropological sociology course through the implementation of blended learning. This research is a class action research (classroom action research) model by Kemmis & McTaggart, which took place in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were ten students of the non-formal education study program at the State University of Manado. Data collection techniques are questionnaire techniques and test techniques. The research data were obtained using communication competency assessment instruments, collaboration competency assessment instruments, and pretest-posttest questions. The data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of data analysis showed (1) the communication competence of students in the first cycle was in the less competent category, while in the second cycle they were very competent, (2) the collaboration competence of students in the first cycle was in the less competent category, while in the second cycle they were very competent, (3) students' cognitive learning outcomes showed achievement of 60% in the first cycle, then increased by 40% so that it became 100% in the second cycle. Based on the results of data analysis, we can conclude that the implementation of blended learning can improve the competence and cognitive learning outcomes of PLS students in the sociology of education anthropology course.

Abstract

Permasalahan ditengah masyarakat khususnya pada Anak Balita adalah pola asuh yang dilaksanakan orang tua tidak sesuai harapan mengakibatkan karakter yang muncul pada anak kecenderungan menjadi anak yang kurang aktif, pemalu dan kurang kreatif. Juga ditemukan, kecenderungan orang tua kurang inovatif dan kurang kreatif dalam mengasuh anak. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah : Peserta penyuluhan memiliki pengetahuan tentang pola asuh anak yang benar. Para orang tua memahami pengetahuan tentang perkembangan anak. Para orang tua peserta penyuluhan dapat memanfaatkan sumber daya local untuk mengembangkan potensi anak. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan acuan bagi orang tua, guru-guru sekolah minggu dan tokoh-tokoh masyarakat dalam menjalankan peran mereka sebagai orang tua, dan sebagai masyarakat agar mendidik anak yang benar sesuai dengan perkembangan anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini : pelatihan, dan melaksanakan penyuluhan bagi orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini di desa Kayuuwi Kecamatan Kawangkoan Barat. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di Aula desa Kayuuwi yang melibatkan perangkat desa. Sesudah penyuluhan dan pelatihan menunjukkan respons yang positif bagi tokoh masyarakat dan orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini, mereka antusias mengikuti penyuluhan pola asuh yang benar dan kegiatan ini dilengkapi dengan media berbasis lingkungan.

Abstract

Communication skills are important to convey ideas well, help in the process of preparing a frame of mind, and are the basis for being able to solve problems. This study aims to describe the level of oral communication skills of university students in educational anthropology sociology lectures. This research is a descriptive quantitative research and was conducted in two academic years (2022/2023 and 2023/2024) at the Nonformal Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Manado. The research subjects consisted of 15 students who contracted sociology and anthropology of education courses in the two academic years. The data collection technique used was observation. In making observations, researchers used observation sheets as research instruments. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics. The results showed that: oral communication skills on indicator 1 'expressing opinions and listening to other people's opinions' showed 84% including in the competent category; indicator 2 'mastering presentation material' showed 69% including in the less competent category; indicator 3 'delivering discussion results systematically and clearly' showed 76% including in the competent category; indicator 4 'asking questions to lecturers or other students' showed 81% including in the competent category; and indicator 5 'being able to answer questions from lecturers or other students' showed 68% so that it was included in the less competent category. Based on the research that has been conducted, it is found that the level of oral communication skills of students in sociology anthropology education lectures is 76%, which is included in the competent category.

Abstract

The appropriate learning methods are needed to allow students to learn actively, dare to participate, and interact with each other in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the participatory learning method in improving student learning outcomes in educational sociology and anthropology courses. This research is a type of quantitative research with pre-experimental research methods and uses the one-group pretest-posttest design as the research design. The subjects in this study were undergraduate students from the nonformal education study program who contracted educational sociology and anthropology courses in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year at the Universitas Negeri Manado, with a research sample consisting of 15 students. Data collection techniques using test techniques. The research instrument used was a test of learning outcomes in the form of a pretest and a posttest in the form of a description. The results showed that the average posttest (3.37) was higher than the pretest (1.51). In addition, the average N-gain (g) acquisition score calculation is 0.75, which is included in the high category; thus, applying the participatory learning method effectively improves student learning outcomes in educational sociology and anthropology courses.
