<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to describe a procedure the allocation of rice in transportation information system which has been implemented and how the implementation of Vogel’s Approximation method in a procedure the allocation of rice as recommendations in solving problem at UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir. This type of research is a descriptive research with case study approach. The results of this study indicate that the process of allocating the rice at UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir require a long time, it was because by the process of allocating rice done manually using stationery to make a matrix on sheets of paper, while the calculation of the cost of transportation in the shipment of rice it uses only a calculator. Transportation information system computer based who applies the Vogel’s Approximation method is expected to allocate rice of a warehouse to meet a demand customer to a different location with quickly with correctly and can to minimize transportation costs in any delivery of rice. Keywords : Analysis and Design, Transportation Information System, Vogel’s Approximation Method ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran prosedur pengalokasian beras dari sistem informasi transportasi yang telah diterapkan dan bagaimana implementasi Metode Vogel’s Approximation dalam prosedur pengalokasian beras sebagai rekomendasi dalam memecahkan permasalahan pada UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pengalokasian beras pada UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama dalam pelaksanaanya, hal ini dikarenakan oleh proses pengalokasian beras yang dilakukan secara manual menggunakan alat tulis untuk membuat matriks pada lembaran kertas, sedangkan penghitungan biaya transportasi dalam pengiriman beras hanya menggunakan kalkulator. Sistem informasi transportasi dengan Metode Vogel’s Approximation yang terintegrasi komputer diharapkan dapat mengalokasikan beras dari gudang untuk memenuhi permintaan pelanggan pada lokasi yang berbeda dengan cepat dan tepat, serta dapat meminimumkan biaya transportasi dalam setiap pengiriman beras.
