Abstract

The study findings revealed that the learners learning activities in the learning process is still lacking to follow, due to the lack of motivation of learners in the learning process to follow, not the material readiness of the students in the following study, the lack of completeness of the study aids learners in the learning process to follow, less comfortably learners learning environment, learners conditions unfavorable in the following learning activities, teachers and teaching styles that are not liked by the students, and the students can not use the facilities that have been provided by the school so as not to create an atmosphere of learning or study room comfortable and conducive as possible, this is because the students are not concentrating when learning activities attributable often feel sleepy, lethargic and not in the spirit of research in the learn. The result is recommended to the various parties involved, namely the learners are expected to be able to utilize the facilities provided at the school so that learning activities can be followed properly, setting the room where the study well and clean up the place and did not chide learning in the classroom, students are also expected to be able to maintain the health conditions in the following lesson so do not bother to follow the concentration of students in learning activities in the classroom.

Abstract

Arti penting dari pendidikan telah disadari oleh kalangan masyarakat dari berbagai lapisan, oleh karena itu mutu pelayanan dan kualitas sekolah merupakan masalah yang harus diperhatikan. SMU Islam YMI harus menciptakan, mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kualitas pelayanannya, dalam bentuk atribut atau karakteristik yang sesuai dengan keinginan atau kebutuhan siswa. Sehingga mampu bersaing dengan SMU-SMU lain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui mutu pelayanan dan prioritas upaya peningkatan kinerja di SMU Islam YMI sesuai dengan keinginan siswa berdasarkan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Dalam penelitian ini disusun atribut-atribut yang menjadi prioritas untuk diperhatikan dan dikembangkan, dan juga evaluasi pembanding dari mutu pelayanan SMU Islam YMI dengan SMUN 1 Kedungwuni.

Abstract

Abstract

News writing is generally formulated using a standard, formal language style. However, Catch Me Up!, an online daily newspaper, broke those strict rules by offering casual, loose, non-standard language which predominantly used code-switching as one of the ways to alter formal to informal language styles. Hence, this study aimed to describe the various types of code-switching that occurred on Catch Me Up! and explain why the news frequently employed code-switching. Three theories underlie the present research; types of code-switching by Poplack and a combination of reasons for code-switching by Hoffmann, Gumperz, and San. The study applied the descriptive-qualitative method since the data were in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences. The data sources were taken from 17 international news published in July 2023. The results revealed that, out of 235 found data, intra-sentential switching became the most occurred data regarding code switching types. In line with the reasons for code-switching, addressee specification and expressing group identity appeared dominantly in this study, followed by talking about a particular topic, interjection, indicating emotions, intention for clarifying the speech substance for interlocutors, and quoting somebody else.

Abstract

Midnights (3am edition) is a more complex version of Taylor Swift’s album, Midnights. It is also her first autobiographical album because her previous albums were about myths. Midnights album is mostly about her life and discusses people in her past. This research aims at analyzing the content of the songs, how Taylor expresses her story in the past using figurative language, and what Taylor means by using associative meaning in the Midnights (3am edition) album. Data source in this research is spotify and genius website, after that researcher uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. Data is collected using documentation. Four steps are used to analyze data: domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and cultural themes. The results of this study show that there are 87 data of figurative language in Midnights (3am edition). The most common figurative language is overstatement, which is as many as 22 (25%), followed by metaphors, as many as 19 (22%) data. Furthermore, there are 83 data associative meanings of figurative language. Connotative meaning is the most common data found in this study, with 64 (77%) data.
