Abstract

Cleanliness of cutlery is a very important part and affect the quality of food and beverages. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between sanitary conditions and personal hygiene food handlers with the presence of Escherichia Coli on eating utensils in the restaurant area of Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado. This type of research is an observational analytic study with cross sectional study design. The entire population of 5 restaurants and food handlers that amounted to 25 people were used as samples, and examination of a tableware sample consisting of 4 types of cutlery ie plates, cups, spoons and forks with a total sample of eating utensils of 20 samples. Processing and analysis univariate data, 80% qualified water supply, 20% unqualified, 60% unqualified wastewater disposal, 40% qualified, cleansing equipment 40% qualified, 60% unqualified, food processing 60% qualified, 40% unqualified, personal hygiene food handler 55% unqualified, 45% qualified. Suggestion: For the managers of Angkasa Pura I and the Manado Port Health Office Class II to controlling every restaurant around Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, more specifically overseeing the condition of sanitation and food handlers.

Abstract

Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal that is naturally present in the earth’s crust and is spread through natural processes and comes from various human activities.Increased levels of Pb in the air as well as the working enviroment and industrial waste that uses Pb. Printing operators or employees are one of the groups exposed to lead (Pb). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of work duration with lead exposure (Pb) in urine on printing operator at PT Manado Persada Madani. This research is a quantitative study using observational analytic methods with cross sectional design. The sample in this study were all workers who served as printing operators, in sampling using cluster sampling techniques as many as 13 people by using two treatment of sampling namely before work and after work.Bivariate analysis research results were analyzed using the non parametric correlations test proving that there is a significant relationship between length of work with lead levels in printing operators with a correlation value = 0,852 with a strong correlation category. Statistically prove that there is a significant relationship between the length of work with lead levels in urine in printing operators who obtain P = 1,000 values.

Abstract

The quality of water consumed by the community can determine the degree of health of the community. The quality of clean water used by the community is greatly influenced by the quality of the water source besides the type of water source used. The number of diarrhea cases in Bitung City according to the results of the 2013 North Sulawesi Riskesdas was 3.4. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Physical Condition of Dug Wells and MPN Coliform Air Dug Wells in Kelurahan Bitung Barat. This research was an analytic observational study using a cross sectional study design. The population in this study amounted to 112 wells, with a sample of 31 wells chosen at random. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations and laboratory examinations of dug well water samples. Data were analyzed bytest Chi-Square. The results of this study indicate the physical condition of dug wells that did not meet the requirements of 24 (77.42%) wells with 18 (75%) of them containing> 50 MPN Coliform/ 100 ml or not fulfilling the requirements while 7 (22.58%) wells were physical condition fulfills the requirements of 4 (57.14%) of which contain> 50 MPN Coliform/ 100 ml or do not meet the requirements and so the number of wells with MPN Coliform does not meet the requirements of 22 (70%) wells. Statistical test results using thetest chi-square obtained p value = 0.360> 0.05 meaning that there is no significant relationship between the physical condition of dug wells with MPN coliform dug well water in West Bitung Village. Conclusion: The research results prove that there is no significant relationship between the physical condition of dug wells with MPN Coliform, but in general the bacteriological conditions of dug wells have not met the requirements and are not suitable to be used as a source of clean water therefore it is necessary to improve environmental sanitation conditions around wells dug and still pay attention to the physical condition of the well.
