Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research is aimed at improving the understanding of semester II students of Geography Education about sociology materials. This is a development and improvement of learning quality research (PPKP). The subject of this research is 23 students of semester II of class A, Geography education, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, academic year of 2008-2009. This research is conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. Time allocation for action is 2 x 50 minutes of teaching and learning process for each cycle. The data is collected by conducting observation, interview and test. The data is analyzed by using descriptive quantitative method and percentage technique with the target of more than 75% students can achieve mastery learning. The average of students understanding about sociology materials increases from cycle 1 meeting (65, 23%)  to cycle 2 meeting (74%) and from cycle 2 meeting (74%) to cycle 3 meeting (82,61%). Abstract

Pembelajaran yang kurang perhatian oleh siswa di dalam kelas dapat mengakibatkan hasil belajar siswa yang kurang baik. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas X IPS 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto Geografi melalui model pembelajaran sortir kartu. Metodelogi penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dalam studi ini. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata aspek kognitif pada siklus I sebesar 82,9, tingkat ketuntasan klasikal berkisar antara 90,60% sampai dengan 85,71, dan tingkat ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus II sebesar 94%. Nilai afektif siswa pada siklus I sebesar 80,07, dan pada siklus II sebesar 85,54. Nilai psikomotor siswa pada siklus I adalah 79,29 dan siklus II 85,93. Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah hasil belajar IPS 1 geografi siswa kelas X meningkat melalui penggunaan model card sorting.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research is motivated by the low motivation of students in the Geography learning process. This can be seen during learning activities, most students are less enthusiastic in learning activities due to various factors, namely: students tend to get bored following lessons, students lack mastery of the material, and so on. This Classroom Action Research aims to increase students' learning motivation in geography subject of eleven social studies one senior high school one Jatibarang Brebes through case study learning model. This research is a class action research conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings, each meeting consists of 2 lesson hours. The implementation planning of each cycle includes planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection used observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation techniques. The research subjects were students of class eleven social studies one senior high school one Jatibarang which amounted to 35 people. The results of this study indicate that the case study learning method that has been carried out can increase student learning motivation in Geography learning. This can be seen from the overall score of student learning motivation before the action of 40.91% included in the low category, cycle I of 52.74% included in the medium category. Then in cycle II it increased again to 63.25% including in the high category. So it can be said that the actions that have been taken are in accordance with what is expected.
