Abstract

Introduction: Silver sulfadiazine 1% is often used as topical agent in burn wound due to its antimicrobial effect. Moreover, this agent has toxigenic effect on fibroblast and keratinocyte. Propolis is a honey bee product and has been used for a long time in burn wound related to antimicrobial effect, anti-inflammation, anti-oxidant and increasing fibroblast. The purpose of this study was to examining the differences between propolis and silver sulfadiazine 1% on burn wound healing process. Method: Design used in this study was true experimental design. The samples were 18 guinea pigs divided randomizely into three group. The groups were control group, propolis group, and silver sulfadiazine group. The independent variables were  the using of propolis and silver sulfadiazine 1%. The dependent variables were inflammation phase (erythema, oedema, wound fluid) and proliferation phase (wound granulation, wound size) which were observed on the 3rd, 7th, 14th days. Data were collected by using observation paper based on the sign of inflammation and proliferation. Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal-wallis test with level of significance of α ≤ 0.05. Result: Results showed that there were differences between propolis and silver sulfadiazine 1% in erythema (p=0.00) and oedema (p=0.001) on 3rd day and erythema (p=0.00) and oedema (p=0.00) on7th day, furthermore burn wound size (p=0.00) on14th day was also attenuated by propolis and silver sulfadiazine 1 %. It can be concluded that the using of propolis was more effective than silver sulfadiazine 1% in burn wound healing. Discussion: Further studies involved microscopic observation of collagen, PMN cell (neutrophile), lymphocyte and monocyte cell are needed.

Abstract

Background: Information on chronic kidney disease is easily accessible in a variety of digital formats and is posted in health information resources, electronic health, or eHealth. In that it can enable people with chronic kidney disease to manage their condition, the field of eHealth is promising. Aims: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usability of eHealth in the treatment of chronic kidney disease by critically analyzing the published papers in this area. Methods: The following databases were searched systematically: The following databases were thoroughly searched: EBSCO, CINAHL, ProQuest, MEDLINE, PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar. Eight studies looked into the specific impact of eHealth on chronic kidney disease. These studies addressed a variety of subjects, including the user, healthcare professionals, and system bonding, mobile eHealth, content, and eHealth evaluation on chronic kidney disease. Results: There is a knowledge gap in the field of eHealth for chronic kidney disease. The findings reveal a significant disparity in the terminology and conceptualizations used in eHealth information on chronic kidney disease. The availability of eHealth information on chronic kidney disease that prioritizes patient education, behavior modification, and prevention has led to inconsistent usage. Lack of sufficient data may hinder the development of eHealth interventions for people with chronic kidney disease. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the urgent need for content acceptance and access as well as evaluation that is evidence-based for the conceptualization of eHealth for chronic kidney disease.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting in children becomes a problem as a result of several factors including the level of mother's knowledge, feeding rules, and eating patterns. Data from Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) for 2022, the stunting rate in Indonesia is 21.6% (Ministry of Health RI, 2022). While the target standard for the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) is 19% in 2024. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of mother's knowledge and feeding rules with eating patterns in stunted children. Methods: This research employed a correlational study design and a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 87 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. This study’s independent variables were maternal knowledge and feeding rules, and the dependent variable was dietary habits. The data was collected using a maternal knowledge level questionnaire, a fundamental feeding rules questionnaire, and a children’s feeding questionnaire (CFQ), which was subsequently analyzed using Spearman’s Rho with a significance level of α=0,05. Results: The bivariate analysis findings demonstrated a significant correlation between maternal knowledge and dietary habits patterns (p=0.000) (r=0.372). In addition, there was a significant correlation between feeding rules and dietary habits (p=0.000) (r=0.424). Conclusion: The level of maternal knowledge and feeding rules were related to children’s diet patterns. The level of maternal knowledge and feeding rules were factors associated with the dietary habits of stunted children; thus, increasing maternal knowledge and feeding rules would improve the diet patterns.

Abstract

Introduction: Vaginal discharge can occur in every woman anywhere in the world. Teenage girls are more at risk, though. It's still a challenge to get teenage females to keep their reproductive organs clean as one of their preventative measures against vaginal discharge. This literature review aims to understand the prevalence of vaginal discharge and the factors that influence adolescents' preventive behavior. Methods: The academic databases (Scopus, Proquest, Pubmed, and Garuda), which comprise works published in the 2016–2021 time frame, were searched for relevant articles using a combination of keywords. The framework for this investigation is PICOS. Articles were systematically chosen by reviewing their English and Indonesian, checking for duplication, examining titles and abstracts, determining whether they eligible for full-text reviews, and determining whether they were appropriate for the study's objectives. The study's participants were female teenagers. Results: Ten papers were discovered that satisfied the review's inclusion requirements. While some adolescent females experience vaginal discharge, others think it to be normal and unproblematic. In order to prevent vaginal discharge in adolescent girls, it is essential to have effective personal hygiene. Adolescents' personal hygiene practices are determined by their knowledge, attitudes, and support systems. Conculusion: Most young women are unaware of the serious effects vaginal discharge can have on reproductive health. To improve adolescent girls' understanding and health status, humanistic health promotion about the behavior of preventing vaginal discharge is still important.

Abstract

The age group of children is at risk of contracting and transmitting COVID-19, so education is needed to build preparedness on the importance of washing hands to prevent transmission of COVID-19 in the new normal era. The purpose of community service is to improve the preparedness of school students. Community service was carried out on June 16, 2021, to 27 students of elementary school X aged 6-7 years. Information is conveyed through short stories for kids. Hand washing movements are conveyed through videos and hand washing songs so that children become more interested and easier to follow. The materials presented included the prevention of COVID-19 in the new normal era, an explanation of hand washing with soap according to the Ministry of Health standards as a form of preventing COVID-19 transmission, and video playback of the 6-step handwashing movement. Post education was found that 95% students (38 of 40) level of knowledge was high which proven by the ability to recall all the steps of soap handwashing. The children's knowledge about washing hands using soap to prevent COVID-19 is increasing, and children are able to wash their hands in the right steps according to Ministry of Health standards. Education for school-age children requires the right method so that children want to participate in education comfortably.
