Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji bagaimana sebaran alumni D-III Ilmu Perpustakaan, Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora, UIN Ar-Raniry di Provinsi Aceh, respon kepuasan dan rekomendasi stakeholder terhadap kompetensi dan peningkatan kualitas alumni D-III Ilmu Perpustakaan di Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-kuantitatif dengan pengambilan data melalui angket yang diberikan kepada alumni dan pengguna alumni dari D-III Ilmu Perpustakaan tahun 2015-2017 yang berjumlah  88 orang. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa sebaran alumni D-III Ilmu Perpustakaan dari aspek pekerjaan terakhir rata-rata bekerja sebagai tenaga perpustakaan, wiraswasta, karyawan instansi pemerintah, karyawan instansi swasta dan guru. Aktifitas alumni paling besar di bidang-bidang lainnya di luar 5 (lima) bidang sebelumnya. Status pekerjaan alumni terakhir kali kebanyakan mandiri. Sisanya adalah berstatus honorer dan kontrak lepas. Status pekerjaan alumni sebagai PNS adalah paling terendah, yaitu 2.2 %. Para alumni yang pernah atau sedang bekerja di perpustakaan, kebanyakan mereka bekerja di perpustakaan sekolah dan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Dari pekerjaan alumni, gaji yang diperoleh sangatlah minim yaitu tidak lebih dari 500.000 rupiah. Respon stakeholder pengguna alumni terhadap kompetensinya rata-rata cukup memuaskan, memuaskan dan sangat memuaskan, baik dari aspke etika dan moral, keahlian berdasarkan bidang ilmu, bahasa Inggris, penguasaan teknologi informasi, kerjasama timpengembangan diri. Hal yang paling kurang memuaskan adalah kemampuan berbahasa asing atau bahasa Inggris. Sedangkan rekomendasi yang diberikan stakeholder pengguna alumni adalah berkaitan dengan perlunya peningkatkan promosi prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan, kemampuan komunikasi berbahasa asing, komunikasi dan beriteraksi dengan tempat kerja dan masyarakat diharapkan juga dapat ditingkatkan. Prodi diharapkan juga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan dan kebutuhan pasar kerja, baik dari aspek pengetahuan teknologi maupun keterampilan lainnya. Para stakeholder juga mengharapkan untuk menggabungkan ilmu perpustakaan dengan kearsipan yang dirasakan banyak diperlukan dalam pekerjaan di Aceh.

Abstract

Information literacy in this post-truth era is an important thing that must be understood by the Indonesian society in dealing with the truth and lies of the information obtained. This paper examines through a literature approach about the conception of information literacy in the post-truth era and what strategies must be understood by the information community in Indonesia in dealing with the spread of fake news from various media. This study concludes that critical thinking is an important part of information literacy that must be understood by Indonesian people to face the dynamics of information in the post-truth era. Critical information literacy can help our ability to search, find and use quality information. Thus, the strategy that must be carried out in dealing with the dissemination of information in the post-truth era is to identify the source, check the author, read the entire contents, check the novelty of the writing, check the balance of the information, the authenticity of the information, and always ask the experts when checking the web source.

Abstract

Information seeking behavior is a micro-level search behavior, which is shown by a person when interacting with all types of information systems. This study examines information seeking behavior through electronic journals using the Ellis model which has 8 (eight) stages of information search, namely starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, extracting, verification, and ending. This study also examines the constraints faced by Library Science students in searching for information through electronic journals. This study uses quantitative methods using purposive sampling technique, with a total of 57 respondents. The results showed that there was a small proportion of Library Science students who did not start, namely collecting initial information through experts, lecturers, or friends. At the chaining stage, some students do not use bibliographies of books, journals, scientific papers and also do not specify keywords before searching. At the browsing stage, a small proportion of students did not limit their search so that the information displayed did not come out of the desired topic. While the obstacles they face in searching for electronic journals are networks that often have problems, difficulty in determining keywords, limited information displayed in electronic journals, limited foreign language skills, and also advertisements that appear in electronic journals.

Abstract

Building the literacy of rural communities is the responsibility of universities as one of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. This paper examines how to build rural livelihoods based on experience from community engagement programs undertaken by universities in Cot Lamme village, Aceh Besar. From the resultsof this program it can be proved that the Taman Bacaan (TABACA) of the Cot Lamme Village Society has been established permanently and the formation of Taman Bacaan (TABACA) volunteers. who sincerely and voluntarily manage the current reading garden and its sustainability in the future. The result of this program has also compiled the organizational structure of Taman Bacaan (TABACA) whose members are entirely derived from the managing volunteers. Ultimately the program established strong togetherness and commitmentbetween the management volunteers and the leaders of the Cot Lamme village as well as the development of a new reading interest culture in the community, so it is expected to foster the spirit of literacy in reading the community and the role of TABACA can really strengthen the knowledge of civil society and an enlightened generation in the future.

Abstract

This thesis discusses environment-based education at Dayah (traditional Islamic board school) Ummul Ayman 1 and 2, especially on the planning and implementation of environmentbased education, and the obstacles faced during its implementation. In this thesis, the study used explorative research with the inductive approach. Data were collected by observation and interview. The results of the study indicated that the planning of environmentbased education at Dayah Ummul Ayman 1 and 2 had been implemented by the teachers. This was due to firm instructions from the leaders of both schools that all teachers pay attention to the environment-based education program incorporated in the learning process. The planning of the program was developed in the learning materials of the teachers. In addition, the implementation of the program was conducted in proper stages following the relevant situation and needs as well as deeply-rooted traditions in the schools, so that the program could be wellimplemented. On the other hand, the obstacles encountered during the program implementation in both schools were not particularly significant. However, in Dayah Ummul Ayman 2, some problems occurred related to the students’ discipline as well as the teachers’. Some teachers were found smoking, making some students follow suit, although they smoked outside the school environment.
