Abstract

AbstractScience module based on local wisdom of coffee was an alternative on developlearning tools by integrating local wisdom into science materials. This research wasa development research using Plomp development model that was adjusted into 4phases. The purposes of this research were to describe the validity of science modulebased on local wisdom of coffee, effectiveness and student's response. Theeffectiveness of science module was calculated from aspects of cognitive learningresult and student learning acitivities. The data collection methods were validation, test, observation, questionnaire and documentation. Science module based on localwisdom of coffee on material work and energy in Junior High School was valid withfinal validation result 4.39. Field trials were conducted in class VIIIA Argopuro 2Suci Junior High School with total of 39 students. The result of classical learningachievement was 82.05% and total percentage of student learning activity was84.33% with very active category. Both values indicate that science modules basedon local wisdom of coffee on material work and energy in Junior High School effectivewere viewed from aspects of learning result and student learning activities. Thenstudent's response got very good response with percentage of response was 84.62%.Keywords: Science module, local wisdom, validity, effectiveness, student’s response

Abstract

This research focuses on determining how the application of differentiated learning can increase students' motivation in learning Physics. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive analysis research methodology and is conducted in three stages, including pre-learning, the first cycle of learning, and the second cycle of learning. 35 students from SMA Negeri 1 Situbondo's class XI MIPA 3 served as the study's subjects. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire and observation by categorizing students into five categories of learning motivation based on the scores obtained from the questionnaire. The results showed that there is a significant increase in student learning motivation after applying differentiated learning in learning Physics in high school that was proven by the significant increase of the percentage in learning motivation category that was very high from the pre-cycle percentage of 0.00%, then in the first cycle learning increased to 11.43%, and in the second cycle learning increased to 40%. This increase shows that students are enthusiastic and motivated in participating in differentiated learning activities.

Abstract

Local wisdom is a view of life, knowledge, understanding and belief as well as habits carried out by local people in the form of activities. The local wisdom of the Situbondo people is defined as activities owned by the Situbondo people which have been proven to be preserved to date. One example is the sea picking tradition. The sea picking tradition is a traditional ceremony or ritual performed by throwing offerings into the middle of the sea. In sea-picking tradition there are many physics concepts in it so that the integration of sea picking local wisdom into physics learning in high school is very necessary. This study was designed to analyze that in the sea picking tradition there are physics concepts that can be used as learning resources in high school. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and literature study. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results this study were obtained from the sea picking tradition by identifying physics concepts, especially in Newton's II and III Laws, pressure, Archimedes' law and waves. Thus, the analysis of physics concepts in the sea picking tradition can be used as an alternative source of learning physics in high school.
