Abstract

Abstract

this paper describes the design of full bridge DC to DC converter 3 phase six legs for solar PV. The prototype is built with 5 kHz transformers, 2 lead-acid batteries with each energy storage of 12V, 7.2Ah and 20WP solar PV. Three phase switching is provided by analog op-amp comparator circuit with variable frequency 1 kHz-20 kHz. The controller of the converter use adjustable DC power supply as voltage reference for analog op-amp comparator, works varies from 0-11VDC (0%-50% duty cycle) and controlled manually

Abstract

Biogas plant needs to be given specific amount of relative humidity setting in order to make it work optimally. It is one major factors of gas waste adsorption through final process of activated carbon in biogas plant, especially for hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is a side gas appeared in biogas plant which has to be removed by various processes, including the presence of activated carbon filter that usually appeared on last stage of biomass filtration process which is poisonous and corrosive to the metal parts. Today, air humidity gauges have been found quite a lot on the market. However, how accurate the device is, needs to be further proven in the laboratory, especially when the gauges have to face corrosive gases such as this H2S. Therefore, calibration for cheap and efficient relative humidity measurement is very necessary. The method will use comparison between RH reading and RH calculation based on parameters of plant settings in the form of gas composition mixture, flow duration, pressure, volumetric flow rate, and temperature. This paper will discuss how to calculate and measure calibration for relative humidity that is practical, simple and does not cost much so that it is expected to be used for low-funding research in biogas plant.

Abstract

In 2007, Indonesian government applied a program called as “Zero Kero” as an effort to save the government budget in terms of providing subsidies and as a step to diversify energy supplies to reduce the country's dependence on petroleum. It basically convert the fuel used for household cooking from kerosene to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sourced from natural gas. In the other hand, Indonesia produces 66-67 million waste in 2019 with organic waste reached 60%.Most of this waste is thrown away in landfill and left abandoned. Meanwhile, organic waste can actually be reprocessed, one of them as a main source of biogas plant. The gas then will be filtered, compressed and liquefied as a replacement of LPG. This paper will conduct a feasibility study of biogas bottling from organic waste in Indonesia.

Abstract

In 2018, Batam State Polytechnic has carried out community service in the village of Pasir Panjang, Rempang Island. Pasir Panjang village is one of the villages that is still not electrified by the local electricity company. The village also experiences difficulties in providing clean water because of its location on the coast. Therefore, the dedication of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the State Polytechnic of Batam in the form of grants and installation of water pumps for public facility with an independent power source from a 100WP solar cell. The problem arises when after carrying out the installation, the water pump cannot pump water properly. In the following year, the service was continued by making improvements to the electrical installation system. Starting from the analysis of the causes of system failure to repair. From the analysis and observation, it is known that the cause of the pump not working properly is due to a decrease in voltage because the Rs value in the solar cell system is quite large. By changing the cable size for current distribution, this problem can be resolved.
