Abstract

Revitalisation is effort that reanimates an area. In case of Taman Sari area in Salatiga, revitalises done through change of function according to street vendor shopping centre with basic planning the spirit of place. Spirit of place (Genius Loci) is soul from place, representing Roman concept in effort to find the history root, cultural, and also character of place. To dig the spirit of place from non physical face (activity) can be done by using superimposes map, earn through history stemming explorations from literature and informant. Data result by verbal explorations must be accompanied with authentic data in map and photo form. The problem is realizing the street vendor shopping centre planning area with basis spirit of place to returning the area that be able to generator of commerce and recreation area. There are 3 problems lifted. First problem is appropriate revitalises area as same as the early function as town garden (open public space) by considering the spirit of place. The target is to increase area performance that representing commerce node in town. Second, revitalises in Taman Sari use street vendor shopping centre concept equipped by the supporter facility and area element that under colour by spirit of place. Third, place for street vendor and public space with basic spirit of place, processing the street furniture, skyline, the situation, colour element, and the green belt.Keyword: Revitalisation, Spirit of Place, Street Vendor Shopping Centre

Abstract

Arata Isozaki is known as Japan's Postmodern architect.  Japanese culture knowledge and the influence of Western clasissme are the advantages possessed of Isozaki. He combine the Japanese architecture that thick with the composition of form and detail with clasissme from the West. The view of eastern culture influences Isozaki productivity as interior architects to produce works that the artifacts spread in various parts of the world. The uniqueness of the works that influenced by family background and environment makes his work have more value.That’s way the Isozaki work so worthy to be explore to get a concept which is applied to his interior work.The purpose of this research is to find the embodiment of the Japanese concept called Ma on the Isozaki interior work. This article is the result of desk study research with rationalistic paradigm.  Literature is used as a source of study. Statements and writings have ever published is the main source of study, the physical results of the interior work as the product is used to find the application from view in the work Isozaki.Maniera is the embodiment of traditional Japanese concept called Ma combined with mannerism from European used by Isozaki in his interior work. These conditions can’t be separated from the family that raised and pursued education environment. Although live in the modern era but he still maintaining Japan traditional values. From many different function, Isozaki's work shows the concept of Ma as a source of ideas on his interior work.Keywords: Arata Isozaki, interior, concept of Ma, Maniera.

Abstract

Architecture as a cultural product is used to develop human welfare.  Knowledge about the environment and climate are the uniqueness of Glenn Murcutt design. The choices of technology, material and the form show that he consistent to keep alive the natural resource. Modern material and technology selected to support his effort to optimizing the environment use in design.Deductive method is used to explore Ecological functionalism principal. Essay and article that contain about Glenn Murcutt vision and design are taken as a data source. The data indentified to catch the design concept. Graphic analyze are used to find the application in design, by this way ecological functionalism concept in Glenn Murcutt design will be found.Glenn Murcutt is applicative ecological functionalism concept in his design. He used special material with modern technology to optimize the environment potential.  Topography and the climate characteristic is the base of design. Simple and aerodynamic forms are choosing as activity facility. The selected material and form do not just a part of structure but also a piece of the aesthetic. Key words: climate caracteristic, simple kurva, aerodynamic, modern technology.

Abstract

House as a shelter relates with the life style in community. On the other hand, the environment conditions influence the life style and the interior of the house. Those conditions occur in Baluwarti Surakarta, the settlement which is placed surrounding the Surakarta Palace. The settlement has a chain with the history of Surakarta Kingdom, at the moment it has changed because of the changes of social culture in their community. Architecture has diversity and uniformity to describe the objet group based on their basic property by sorting or classifying their diversity and uniformity. Typology is used to categorize the formal structure in each architectural object, furthermore, morphology has a function to see and interpret the development of design in their environment especially interior design. Settlement in Baluwarti has a unique interior because of the changes of people who use it.Baluwarti community, in the early, was Javanese people who had their own vision about house. Nowadays,the community changes are more complex than before and that it causes the shape and form of the environment development. The result of typology and morphology are important for the community. It can be used to make the prototype which can be useful for the conservation of the Baluwarti environment. Abstract

The mobility of human being needs a transit space. Airport as a transit space or terminal has a facilityto support the activity of the air traffic. Based on the activity, space on the airport is divided intoseveral criteria. There are public area, private area and service area.Public area is a space that canbe acces by visitor with or without requirement. Airport public space is different from another terminalpublic space. This research uses graphic analysis with interpretation discription. Graphic analysis isused to identify the room visual structure. Interpretative analysis is used to explore the connection ofform and room function. Abstract

Surabaya merupakan pusat ekonomi dan juga menyandang predikat kota terpadat di provinsi Jawa Timur. Hal ini jelas memberikan pengaruh terhadap kesehatan fisik maupun psikis masyarakatnya sehingga muncul kebutuhan perawatan dan relaksasi. Day Spa menjadi alternatif untuk wadahi kegiatan yang menawarkan solusi kesehatan dan perawatan kecantikan. Untuk memberikan pelayanan relaksasi yang optimal, maka gaya Japandi yang menghadirkan nuansa alamiah dipilih sebagai sumber ide perancangan interior Day Spa di Surabaya. Pendekatan fungsi, ergonomi dan estetis digunakan untuk memecahkan permasalah perancangan interior yang mengusung tema natural. Penonjolan karakteristik material yang diimplementasikan pada interior ruang didukung dengan pencahayaan dan penghawaan menjadi salah satu cara untuk memberikan kenyamanan kepada pengguna fasilitas Day Spa di Surabaya. Kebaharuan hasil perancangan terletak pada penerapan motif batik semanggi Surabaya yang merupakan unsur kearifan lokal untuk eksplorasi gaya dan mendukung tema natural.
