Abstract

Patient safety incidents are increasing and can result in death. Hospitals are required to provide quality and safe service. Thus, making policies to improve the quality of patient safety based on evidence is very important. This study aimed to determine the relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses. The design of this research was a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 56 nurses in the Inpatient Room of a hospital in Temanggung Regency. The data was collected through a work design questionnaire instrument and digital instrument/ calculators obtained through observation. Then, the data were analyzed by the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses (p = 0.000). Nurses who had a good perception of work design were found to carry out patient safety well. It is suggested that the hospital management needs to support the implementation of patient safety through the work design of the head of the room by compiling standard operational procedures. The head of the room needs to improve the implementation of work design so that all nurses can perform patient safety according to standards.

Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease whose prevalence continues to increase in the world, both in developed and developing countries. Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus efforts to reduce blood sugar levels can be done by pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. The pharmacological method can use drugs such as insulin and examples of non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood glucose levels can use Swedish massage because this massage technique can make the body feel relaxed and reduce stress thereby increasing adrenal hormones that stimulate insulin secretion. Objective : This application aims to determine the effectiveness of Swedish Massage to reduce blood glucose levels in Gelangan. Methods: The method used in this application is a case study applied to one patient suffering from type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. By doing the initial method of assessment. Results: There was a decrease in blood glucose levels in the sample with clients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the age of 52 years with an average decrease of 50 mg/dL during the implementation of the Swedish massage twelve times using vaseline. Conclusion: Swedish Massage therapy can reduce blood glucose levels using vaseline. Abstract

Diarrhea is the second leading cause of death among children under five years of age. It can persist for an extended period, leading to dehydration and potential malnutrition. While the literature presents various complementary therapies for managing diarrhea, there is a notable lack of studies specifically addressing the use of honey to mitigate hyperactivity of bowel movements in affected patients. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the benefits of honey in children experiencing diarrhea. The study involved two pediatric patients who were administered pure honey over a two-day period. The dosage consisted of 5 cc of honey mixed with 10 cc of water, given three times daily at 07:00, 17:00, and 21:00. The honey used in the study was confirmed to be pure. The findings suggest that pure honey is effective in reducing the frequency of bowel movements in children with acute diarrhea. This conclusion is supported by the observed outcomes in both patients, which indicated a reduction in bowel movement frequency following the administration of honey. Consequently, it is recommended that pure honey be considered as a complementary treatment for children suffering from acute diarrhea. Abstract

Toilet training in children is a crucial developmental milestone, focusing on teaching them to control defecation and urination. The absence of effective toilet training can result in several challenges, including social embarrassment when interacting with toilet-trained peers and increased stress and anxiety for both the child and parents. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of oral and modeling techniques in enhancing toilet training. Utilizing a case study design, we employed participatory observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation to gather data. The sample consisted of a pediatric patient aged 18-24 months. Data analysis was performed using domain analysis after tabulation. The findings indicate that employing oral and modeling techniques significantly improves toilet training outcomes in children. These methods are recommended for parents to implement in-home care settings to facilitate successful toilet training.
