Abstract

In this research, the researchers used Responding, Correcting and Guiding (RCG) Strategy with Power Point (PPT) to solve the students’ problems in writing Report Text. The researchers designed the research problem as follows: How can RCG Strategy with PPT improve writing skill on report text for senior high school students? After applying RCG Strategy in cycle I, the students’ average score result in this cycle was 72.5%. This result was still not satisfying. 55.33% or 8 students could not reach the mean score target of 75. Therefore, the research should continue to the next cycle. In cycle II, the students’ average score was 82.33%. There were only 13.33% or 2 students who got bad scores, it meant that the criteria success had been met and this cycle should be discontinued. Based on the findings, the English teachers were recommended to use RCG for enhancing students’ writing skill by applying all the ways in this strategy, they were: Reacting to the Students’ Work, Correcting to the Students’ Work, Responding to the Students Work, Peer Review, Training Students to Self-Edit and Self-Correct and Making Homework Successful.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the chain writing technique for teaching how to write descriptive text using comic strips. This study employed a quasi-experimental methodology. Both the experimental class and the control class participated in the study four times each. A test is the instrument in use. Based on the analysis of the data, the experimental class's test results for creating an English paragraph had an average score of 86.22. While the control group's test results yielded an average score of 74.13. For degrees db = 5%, the value of thitung is 4.78, while the value of ttabel is 3.15. The use of the chain writing approach is significantly impacted since thitung > ttabel. The chain writing technique significantly improves the descriptive text writing abilities of first grade junior high school students. This demonstrates that learning to write more effectively through chain writing than through lecturing. It is recognized that the chain writing learning method can enhance learning outcomes based on the outputs of data processing.

This study used a quasi-experimental design, which is a type of quantitative research. Sixty-four students made up the research sample: thirty-two from class XI IPS 1 were the experimental group, and thirty-two from class XI IPS 2 were the control group. Students of SMAN Kademangan Blitar's Class XI were the study's subjects. The data was calculated by the researcher using ANCOVA. The study's conclusions demonstrated that students who were taught the Think Pair Share Method with Mind Mapping Media outperformed those who were taught GTM in terms of writing achievement. According to the Estimated Marginal Means Table, students taught using the Think Pair Share Method with Mind Mapping Media scored 77,529, while students taught using GTM scored 77.034. In summary, the Think Pair Share Method combined with Mind Mapping Resources was more effective in teaching writing.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether speaking skill success was higher among vocational school students taught using ELSA Speak Role Playing than among those taught using the Grammar Translation Method (GTM). Some students who frequently have trouble communicating were the subjects of this investigation. When speaking, students usually have trouble with vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension. This study employed a quasi-experimental methodology and a quantitative approach. Students X MPLB and X AKL SMKS PGRI 4 Blitar served as the study's subjects. There were 14 students in the experimental class and 4 students in the control group. The experimental class and the control class each participated in the study three times. The results were derived using SPSS 20 and ANCOVA by the researcher. The mean score for role play with ELSA Speak (82.778a) was higher than the traditional technique (75.278a), indicating that the analysis utilizing the role play method had a positive effect. However, students who receive instruction through role-playing are more interested and prefer using English when speaking. It indicates that this approach with ELSA Speak produces better results than the traditional approach. It can be inferred that ELSA Speak role play is a superior way to enhance speaking abilities. To address the speaking issues of vocational school pupils, teachers are advised to employ role-playing with ELSA Speak.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of DRTA strategy with Instagram media in teaching reading to senior high school students. A quasi-experimental design, non-randomized pre-test post-test was used, involving second-year senior high school students. Grade XI IPS 3 served as the experimental group, while Grade XI IPS 5 served as the control group. Pre-tests were given to both groups before treatment. The experimental group received instruction using DRTA strategy with Instagram media, while the control group was taught using GTM method. The findings of the research showed that statistically the students taught using DRTA strategy showed significant higher achievement than those taught using conventional method (GTM). It can be seen from the differences between the means of the two groups, which are reported in the Estimated Marginal means table as DRTA method is 79.003, which is greater and 73.569 for the students taught using conventional method (GTM). From the practical view, DRTA strategy contributed the improving students’ reading skill especially in Hortatory Exposition text, because DRTA strategy provides clear directions; this encourages the students to read easily and helps students to find or builds the idea before they read the text. From the findings, it is suggested that DRTA strategy with Instagram media should be introduced, practiced and implemented in the English class especially in reading comprehension on Hortatory Exposition text.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how well vocational high school students learn writing through Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) using realia media. This study was carried out on several pupils who frequently struggle with their writing abilities. When producing documents, students frequently run into issues with sentence form, syntax, vocabulary choice, coherence across paragraphs, and logical idea organization. This study combined a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach. Students in the XI grade at SMKS PGRI 1 Blitar City served as the study's subjects. XI TKJ students served as the experimental group, while XI TPM students served as the control group. Researchers employed the ANCOVA approach, which was computed with the aid of SPSS version 20 software, to assess the study's findings. According to the analysis, the Contextual Teaching and Learning with Realia media treatment had a positive impact; its mean score (79.310a) was higher than that of the traditional approach (71.621a). This indicates that using realia media in contextual teaching and learning yields greater results than the traditional approach. Because contextual teaching makes learning more meaningful and encourages students to be more active and expressive, and because learning and realia media help students organize their thoughts and express ideas more concretely, it is recommended that teachers use contextual teaching and learning with realia media when teaching writing, particularly on procedure texts, to vocational high students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether junior high school students who received instruction using Choral Reading with Kingsoft Office outperformed those who received instruction using the Grammar Translation Method (GTM). This study employed a quasi-experimental approach, a type of quantitative research. The research subjects were second year students of SMPN 3 Sutojayan-Blitar academic year 2025-2026. There were two classes chosen, Class VIII-C is Group 1 as experimental group of 20 students taught using Choral Reading with Kingsoft Office and Group 2, Class VIII-D, consists of 20 students who are taught using GTM as a control group. To compute the data, the researchers employed ANCOVA. The results of the study showed that students who received instruction using the Choral Reading method outperformed those who received instruction using GTM in terms of accomplishment. This is demonstrated by the significant value, F (1.37) = F 5.144, P 0.029 < 0.05, which is less than 0.05. Furthermore, the students taught using GTM had a mean of 72.258, whereas the students taught using the Choral Reading approach had a higher mean of 76.442, according to the differences between the adjusted means for the two groups, which are displayed in the Estimated Marginal Means table. In conclusion, Choral Reading with Kingsoft Office shown to be more effective in teaching junior high school students to read, particularly descriptive texts.
