Abstract

Abstract Trend Cycle in Social Media (Case Study of Cloth Trend in Instagram of Nusantara Teenagers) The phenomenon of “berkain’ that is present on social media is one of the fashion phenomena that is widely used by the Swaragembira community and Remaja Nusantara as a manifestation of Indonesian cultural identity with the use of traditional patterned fabrics. The trend cycle on social media has a different time span than the conventional fashion trend cycle. The output objective of this study is to try to show the fashion trend cycle on social media with a case study of trends of “berkain” by Remaja Nusantara. The analysis was carried out using a qualitative approach with netnography and content analysis methods with trend analysis. The netnography method tries to open data from social media where “berkain” phenomenon is carried out and content analysis to describe the content on Instagram of Remaja Nusantara. This study resulted in a fashion trend cycle on social media with a case study of “berkain” trends on Instagram experiencing an acceleration of trend movements influenced by fast information movements and fashion leaders. The trend cycle on social media is called microtrend because it has a fast time span and limitations in its spread in demographics and geography. Keywords: Fashion Trend, Microtrend, Berkain, Social Media Abstrak Siklus Tren di Media Sosial (Studi Kasus Tren Berkain di Instagram Remaja Nusantara) Fenomena berkain yang hadir di sosial media adalah salah satu fenomena fashion yang sedang marak digunakan oleh komunitas Swaragembira dan Remaja Nusantarra sebagai perwujudan identitas budaya Indonesia dengan penggunaan kain bercorak tradisional. Siklus tren pada media sosial memiliki jangka waktu yang berbeda dengan siklus tren fashion konvensional. Tujuan luaran dari penelitian ini adalah berupaya memperlihatkan siklus tren fashion di media sosial dengan studi kasus tren berkain oleh Remaja Nusantara. Analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode netnografi dan analisis konten dengan analisis tren. Metode netnografi mencoba membuka data dari sosial media fenomena berkain dilakukan dan analisis konten untuk menjabarkan konten yang ada di Instagram Remaja Nusantara. Penelitian ini menghasilkan siklus tren fashion di media sosial dengan studi kasus tren berkain di Instagram mengalami percepatan pergerakan tren yang dipengaruhi oleh pergerakan informasi yang cepat serta pelopor fashion. Siklus tren di media sosial disebut microtrend karena memiliki jangka waktu yang cepat serta keterbatasan dalam penyebarannya di demografis dan geografis. Abstract

Humans are creatures that continue to change and develop every time. This is influenced by the progress experienced by humans, especially in the field of technology. Trend Forecasting Indonesia promoted by the association Indonesia Trend Forecasting (ITF) opens reasoning for new perspectives, changes perceptions and becomes a reference for creative economy actors in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to open new insights on trend forecasting and its scope in design thinking. This study uses qualitative research methods with an anthropological approach to cultural policy and theory from Shore & Wright. Data were obtained by passive observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. This study focuses on the background of trend forecasting in Indonesia and Bekraf policies that affect creative economy actors. The results of this study are the background of trend forecasting in Indonesia starting from the problem of Indonesian products that do not compete in the market, creative work policies that are supported and in line with forecasting trends in Indonesia, as well as the influence on policies and the expansion of trend forecasting in Indonesia.
