Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan asesmen diagnostik miskonsepsi berformat four-tier untuk mengungkap profil pemahaman konsep mahasiswa teknik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D). Sampel penelitian yaitu mahasiswa prodi teknik elektro politeknik Muhammadiyah Tegal. Analisis data terdiri dari uji validasi ahli, uji keterbacaan, dan uji skala besar yang meliputi uji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen. Hasil uji validasi ahli diperoleh instrumen layak digunakan dengan revisi minor. Hasil uji keterbacaan diperoleh tingkat keterbacaan kalimat dan gambar baik. Hasil uji skala besar diperoleh delapan soal dinyatakan valid. Hasil uji reliabilitas diperoleh nilai Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,858, sehingga instrument reliabel. Hasil uji pemahaman konsep mahasiswa diperoleh sebanyak 21,4 % mahasiswa paham konsep, 14,2 % paham konsep, tetapi tidak yakin, 13,7 % paham sebagian, 26 % tidak paham konsep, dan 27,9 % Miskonsepsi. Temuan miskonsepsi terbesar yaitu mahasiswa menganggap kuat arus listrik yang melalui percabangan yang paling dekat dengan sumber tegangan memiliki nilai paling besar. Kata kunci: asesmen diagnostik; four-tier; pemahaman konsep; mahasiswa teknik. ABSTRACTThis study aims to develop a four-tiered misconception diagnostic assessment to reveal the profile of engineering students' conceptual understanding. This research is a development research (R & D). The research sample was students of the electrical engineering study program at the Politeknik Muhammadiyah Tegal. Data analysis consisted of expert validation test, readability test, and large-scale test. The results of the expert validation test obtained that the instrument was suitable for use. The results of the readability test obtained that the level of legibility and clarity of sentences and pictures was good. The results of the large-scale test obtained that eight questions were declared valid. The results of the reliability test obtained the value of Cronbach's Alpha = 0.858, so the instrument is reliable. The results of the student's concept understanding test were obtained as many as 21.4% of students understood the concept, 14.2% understood the concept, but were not sure, 13.7% understood partly, 26% did not understand the concept, and 27.9% had misconceptions. The biggest misconception finding is that students think that the electric current that passes through the branch closest to the voltage source has the greatest value. Keywords: diagnostic assessment; four-tier; concept understanding; engineering student.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi trigonometri masih menjadi suatu masalah yang harus diperhatikan. Guru sebagai pengajar hendaklah menggunakan beraneka macam model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X-Multimedia 2 SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Tegal melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi trigonometri. Dalam Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK)  yang terdiri dari dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-Multimedia 2 SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Tegal tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 32 orang. Teknik pengumpulan  data meliputi tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan observasi. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Dari penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa meningkat. Pada siklus kesatu, terdapat 12 siswa yang berhasil mencapai KKM (37,5%), pada siklus kedua jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM meningkat menjadi 25 siswa (78%).  Berdasarkan hasil pencapaian siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus kesatu dan kedua, maka kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa meningkat sebesar 40,5% dari siklus satu  ke siklus dua.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran “Kartu Detektif’ yang berbasis pendidikan karakter pada pelajaran Fisika untuk siswa sekolah menengah atas. Model pembelajaran “Kartu Detektif” diadopsi dari Model pembelajaran ASSURE dan strategi pembelajaran Team Assisted Individualization yang terdiri dari : analisis karakter peserta didik, menetapkan tujuan pembelajaran, memilih metode pembelajaran, memilih teknologi yang sesuai, dan melibatkan peserta didik agar aktif dalam pembelajaran fisika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) model 4D. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu : (1) eksplorasi secara teoritis dan penyusunan draft perangkat model pembelajaran fisika  (2) Uji empiris, yang terdiri dari validasi ahli, uji kepraktisan, dan angket respon siswa. Hasil validasi ahli diperoleh model pembelajaran fisika yang dikembangkan valid dengan persentase pencapaian 89,5 %. Materi pembelajaran meliputi bab dinamika gerak, sub bab hukum Newton tentang gerak. Uji kepraktisan terdiri dari aspek efektif, interaktif, efisien, dan kreatif. Hasil uji kepraktisan diperoleh model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan praktis dan dikategorikan sangat baik dengan rata-rata pencapaian 81.8 %.

Abstract

Mastering problem-solving skills and fostering self-efficacy are crucial for student success as they equip individuals with the confidence and adaptability needed to navigate challenges effectively both academically and in real-life situations. However, the problem-solving skills of students and their self-efficacy are still relatively low. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of implementing the discovery learning model in enhancing students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy. This study uses a mixed-method approach with high school students from one of the schools in Purwakarta. The sample is made up of two classes, one of which uses discovery learning and the other of which uses traditional classroom methods. with instruments including problem solving ability test questions, self-efficacy questionnaires, observation sheets, and interviews. Data analysis is conducted using an independent sample t-test. The instruments used include tests and non-tests, namely problem solving tests, self-efficacy scale questionnaires, observation sheets, and interviews. The research discovered notable variances in the mathematical problem-solving skills and self-efficacy of students who engaged in discovery learning versus those who engaged in conventional learning. It found that students in the discovery learning group exhibited better problem-solving skills and higher self-efficacy. Additionally, the study revealed a positive correlation between students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and their self-efficacy.

Abstract

This research aims to improve understanding of physics concepts and learning outcomes of Electrical Engineering students at the Politeknik Muhammadiyah Tegal  by using the Problem Based Learning model combined with Think Pair Share on dynamic electrical material. The research instruments used were lecturer and student observation sheets, worksheets and test question sheets. In the analysis of students' conceptual understanding, an increase of 8.58% was obtained from cycle I to cycle II. Meanwhile, in the analysis of student learning outcomes in cycle I, the number of students who passed was 61.76%, and in cycle II the number of students who passed was 82.35%. The results of this research show that the application of the Problem Based Learning model combined with Think Pair Share can improve students' understanding of concepts and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan bagian integral dari kehidupan sehari-hari yang penting untuk dipahami sejak dini.  Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah mengenalkan konsep matematika kepada anak usia dini secara menyenangkan. Hal ini diharapkan tidak hanya akan membantu mereka membangun dasar yang kuat dalam matematika, tetapi juga meningkatkan minat dan kepercayaan mereka terhadap matematika untuk masa depan yang lebih cerah. Metode yang digunakan pertama adalah dengan observasi dan wawancara langsung dengan guru, kedua dengan ceramah dalam memaparkan materi, ketiga dengan pelatihan dan ke empat pemberian angket untuk mengukur kepuasan pelanggan. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukan bahwa sebagaian besar peserta pelatihan antusias mengenal pembelajaran matematika yang menyenangkan untuk anak usia dini dan mayoritas peserta puas dengan adanya pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan judul Mengenalkan Matematika yang Menyenangkan bagi Anak Usia Dini.

Abstract

Federated Learning (FL) has emerged as a promising paradigm for the collaborative training of machine learning models across decentralized devices while preserving data privacy. However, ensuring data security and privacy during model updates remains a critical challenge, particularly in scenarios that involve sensitive data. This study proposes a novel Privacy-Preserving Algorithm (PPA-FL) designed to enhance data security and mitigate privacy leakage risks in FL frameworks. The algorithm integrates advanced encryption techniques, such as homomorphic encryption, with differential privacy to secure model updates without compromising the utility. Furthermore, it incorporates a dynamic noise-adjustment mechanism to adaptively balance privacy and model accuracy. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that PPA-FL achieves a competitive trade-off between privacy protection and model performance compared to existing methods. The proposed approach is computationally efficient and scalable, making it suitable for real-world applications in healthcare, finance, and the IoT environment. This research contributes to advancing secure data-sharing practices in federated learning, fostering the broader adoption of privacy-preserving machine learning solutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the Small Group Discussion learning method in improving students' critical thinking skills on the topic of integrals. This study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, conducted through four iterative stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects are students of Politeknik Muhammadiyah Tegal, focusing on enhancing their critical thinking skills using the Small Group Discussion method. Data were collected using various instruments, including pre-tests, learning outcome tests, interviews, and observations. The results indicate that the average learning score in Cycle 1 fell into the "moderate" category, with an average score of 60.26%. In Cycle 2, the results improved to the "high" category, with an average score of 78.21%. In Cycle 3, the average score significantly increased to 85.90%, which is classified as "very high." Therefore, the implementation of the learning process in Cycle 3 was deemed highly successful.

Abstract

This study began with a situation where the teaching of Basic Physics to Engineering students, Universitas Muhammadiyah Tegal was carried out using a monotonous lecture method, making it difficult for students to understand the material presented. The problem identified in this study is how to describe the improvement in learning outcomes of Engineering students through the application of the Learning Start with a Question strategy. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of basic Physics of engineering students by implementing the Learning Start with a Question strategy. This study is a type of classroom action research, with 16 Engineering students in semester 2 as research subjects. The instruments used included learning achievement tests and observation sheets. The indicator of success was determined by achieving a minimum of 75% of students achieving a score of at least 65, which received a good score. The results of the study showed that in cycle I, 7 students or 43.7% had achieved completeness, in cycle II as many as 11 students or 68.7%, and in cycle III as many as 14 students or 87.5% had achieved completeness. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Learning Start with a Question strategy can improve the learning of basic Physics of Engineering students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X-Multimedia 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Tegal melalui penerapan pendekatan STEM berbasis PBL pada materi trigonometri. Dalam Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-Multimedia 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Tegal tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 32 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah dengan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian tentang penerapan pendekatan STEM berbasis PBL adalah sebagai berikut: persentase ketuntasan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada siklus kesatu berada pada kriteria tinggi yaitu 81,25%, pada siklus kedua mengalami penurunan dengan kriteria kurang yaitu 46,875% dan pada siklus ketiga mengalami peningkatan dengan kriteria Cukup yaitu 75%. Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan STEM berbasis PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas X-Multimedia 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Tegal pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020.
