Abstract

Professional teachers are teachers who have passed the certification. The problem of this study is how much the influence of a teacher certification directly and indirectly as well as the influence of compensation on the performance of certified teachers in State High Schools in Magelang Regency. The objective of this study is to analyze the direct and indirect influences of teacher certification and compensation for the certified teachers’ performance  in High Schools in Magelang Regency. Population and sample were 85 certified teachers from 10 High Schools in Magelang District. Data was collected by questionnaire and documentation, whereas data analysis techniques was path analysis. From the research,  There is significant relationship between teacher certification in office through portfolio assessment of teacher performance SMA certified as Magelang regency, either directly or indirectly through compensation as an intervening variable. Suggestions in this study as follows (1) Teachers need to provide enrichment for students who excel. In addition, teachers also have to increase their creativity in providing activities to the achievement of students who have below average grade. (2) For further research, is expected to develop this research. With the review of certifications and other factors that may affect the performance of teachers.

Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF STUDENTS' UNDERSTANDING LEVEL OF ANIMAL MORPHOLOGY CHARACTERISTICS WITH THE ABILITY TO MEMORIZE ANIMAL LATIN NAMES IN GRADE 10 IPAAbstractAnimal taxonomy subjects often use animal's Latin names. Many students think that this subject is annoying because it is dominated by memorizing animal's Latin names, even though memorizing becomes a prerequisite for understanding. Meanwhile, most of the language materials memorized need an understanding before the memorizing process. This study aimed to find a relationship between the level of students' understanding of an animal's morphological characteristics and the ability to memorize animal's Latin names at the Xth grade of IPA students in SMAN 3 Jember. This study used a quantitative approach with a type of ex post facto. The test obtained the data. Then it was descriptively and inferentially analyzed by Kendall correlation. This research indicated that 56 students who answered test of the level of understanding animal's morphological characteristics and the ability to memorize animal's Latin names resulted in a correlation coefficient of score 0.673, and significance 0,000 < 0.05. Therefore, if the level of students’ understanding of an animal's morphological characteristics increased, the ability to memorize animal's Latin names at the Xth grade of IPA students in SMAN 3 Jember also increased, conversely. AbstrakNama latin hewan sering digunakan dalam materi taksonomi hewan. Banyak siswa beranggapan bahwa materi tersebut membosankan karena didominasi oleh menghafal nama latin hewan, padahal menghafal menjadi prasyarat pemahaman. Sementara itu, sebagian besar materi bahasa yang dihafal membutuhkan pemahaman sebelum proses menghafal berlangsung. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengetahui hubungan tingkat pemahaman karakteristik morfologi hewan dengan kemampuan menghafal nama latin hewan pada siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 3 Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis eks post facto. Data didapatkan menggunakan instrumen tes. Kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan korelasi Kendall. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 56 siswa yang menjawab tes tingkat pemahaman karakteristik morfologi hewan dan kemampuan menghafal nama latin hewan menghasilkan koefisien korelasi 0,673 dan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Dengan demikian, jika tingkat pemahaman karakteristik morfologi hewan meningkat, kemampuan menghafal nama latin hewan pada siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 3 Jember juga meningkat, begitupula sebaliknya.

Abstract

Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) in Kaliakah Village are exploited in the makepung lampit tradition, in addition to food and agricultural tools. However, the population of buffaloes in Kaliakah Village is very small hence information on their morphology is needed to inform conservation efforts. This study aimed to describe qualitative and quantitative characters in the morphology of male and female buffaloes in Kaliakah Village. This survey study was analyzed on 24 male buffaloes and 30 female buffaloes. Qualitative characters observed consist of body shape, body color, eye color, and horn shape, while quantitative characters measured consist of chest girth (CG), leg length (LL), body length (BL), head length (HL), neck length (NL), tail length (TL), and estimated body weight (BW). The study results revealed variations in body shape (stocky and fat), body color (black and albino), and eye color (black and reddish black) in both male and female buffaloes. Male buffaloes have a CG of 167 19.18 cm, LL of 57.63 5.23 cm, BL of 128.13 7.60 cm, HL of 31.38 3.50 cm, NL of 49.25 5.99 cm, TL of 61.88 6.53 cm, and BW of 740.79 198.59 kg. Female buffaloes had a CG of 160.40 16.53 cm, LL of 57.17 4.31 cm, BL of 127.39 7.55 cm, HL of 30.72 3.67 cm, NL of 72 5.46 cm, TL of 60.56 6.48 cm, and BW of 700.94 168.87 kg. Based on ANOVA (one-way) analysis, there was no significant differences between the quantitative characters of male and female buffaloes. Based on an analysis of correlation, there are differences in quantitative characters that are strongly correlated among male and female buffaloes.

Abstract

This research is a type of research and development (Research and Development or R & D) using the ADDIE Branch development model. The aim of this research is to produce a product in the form of a wordwall-assisted assessment instrument on coordination system material for class XI Science students at MA Negeri 2 Jember. The assessment instrument developed contains multiple choice questions (multiple choice) type Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions on the coordination system material. The research results show that the validation obtained from experts has been matched with the validation score criteria, material expert validation results are 88.12% (very valid), evaluation expert validation results are 95.55% (very valid), language expert validation results are 86.66 % (very valid), and the results of practitioner validation by teachers were 94.72% (very valid). Meanwhile, the results of student responses were: 1) small scale trial stage 83.17% (very interesting); and 2) large-scale trial phase 85.1% (very interesting). The results of the question item validation test were: 1) 20 of the 25 question items were declared valid with a value of rcount > rtable; 2) the overall reliability value of the questions is 0.792 (high); 3) the level of difficulty of the items in the easy, medium and difficult categories; and 4) the distinguishing power of items in the very good and quite good categories. The wordwall-assisted assessment instrument on the coordination system material was proven to be effective for class 05). Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the wordwall-assisted assessment instrument product is categorized as very valid, very practical and effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan pop-up book sebagai media pembelajaran biologi dan mendeskripsikan kevalidan pop-up book sebagai media pembelajaran biologi pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan ini adalah penelitian Research and Development dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan evaluation). Tahap pada penelitian ini sampai pada tahap development karena keterbatasan kondisi pandemi covid-19 sehingga tidak memungkinkan dilakukan sampai tahap evaluation. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian berupa angket yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengembangan pop-up book ini masih sebatas uji kevalidan produk yang melibatkan lima validator meliputi dua validator ahli materi, dua validator ahli media dan satu orang guru biologi Berdasarkan hasil validasi pop-up book yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi diperoleh hasil sebesar 92,66%, hasil validasi ahli media 90,62%, hasil validasi guru 93,33% dengan kategori sangat valid, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran pop-up book sangat valid sebagai media pembelajaran biologi bagi peserta didik.
