Abstract

The attitude of students who cannot convey what they feel without hurting the feelings of others is because the student cannot behave assertively. Assertive behavior is expressing what is felt or thought without hurting the feelings of others. This study aims to see differences in assertive behavior of students based on cultural backgrounds (Minang, Malay, Batak, Kerinci). This study uses a comparative descriptive approach carried out on BK FIP UNP students with a total sample of 248 people, using a proportional random sampling technique. The instrument of this research is a questionnaire about assertive behavior with a Likert scale model. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and data processing using SPSS version 20.00. The findings of this study indicate that there is no significant difference in assertive behavior of BK FIP UNP students when viewed from a cultural background. This means that differences in cultural background do not determine student assertive behavior. This is indicated by the calculated F value, which is equal to 0.779 while Sig. on the degree of freedom (db) 1 and aplha (?) 0.05 is 0.506, then according to hypothesis testing criteria through analysis of variance (ANOVA), if F count is greater than F table there is no significant difference.

Abstract

The variety of problem conditions and the specific dynamics of college student demographics demands a holistic measurement. Various measurements to reveal the attributes of students' problems have been developed in Indonesia, but they are not optimal because they are still partial. Even though a holistic measurement tool has been developed, its effectiveness is still a matter of debate, especially in measuring instrument duration and the number of items that are too large. The development of the Zadrian-Ifdil Problem Checklist (ZIPC) measuring instrument aims to obtain an effective and efficient measuring tool in identifying problems experienced by students daily. This study consists of three phases: item development, testing, validation, and item revision. The sample involved in this study were 639 people spread all over Indonesia. Analysis and validation of measuring tools using the Rasch model approach. The development and validation results revealed that the student version of ZIP-C was reliable and valid to reveal daily personal problems in 8 variables of problem conditions and 50 items. This measuring tool can be used for research purposes and practice services and mental health interventions by professionals.

Abstract

Homosexuality is a controversial issue. In general, Indonesian society rejects the existence of homosexuals because they are not in accordance with the prevailing values and norms and are the cause of HIV / AIDS so that it not only endangers individuals and the perpetrators but can also destroy the fabric of society. This is the basis for the need for an instrument to identify a person's sexual orientation. More often than not, homosexual identification tools have been developed abroad so that they are not suitable for the context of Indonesian society. This study aims to develop an instrument capable of measuring the level of a person's homosexual tendency. The research method used follows the steps of developing Gall, Gall, and Borg's model. The research sample used was 265 students. Initially this instrument consisted of 28 items which were analyzed using the IRT approach. The results indicated that the inventory of homosexual tendencies was valid and reliable, totaling 26 items. Thus this instrument can be used to identify levels of homosexual tendencies
