Abstract

Kepala dan Wakil Kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin sekolah perlu menguasai kompetensi kepemimpinan. Usaha tersebut terus diupayakan oleh  Kepala dan Wakil Kepala Sekolah TK-SD-SMP-SMA Bintang Laut sebagai tim koordinatorat. Tim Koordinatorat terlebih dahulu mengundang pelaksana pengabdian melakukan identifikasi kondisi internal dan eksternal dan menemukan permasalahan yaitu “Keterbatasan penguasaan kompetensi komunikasi kepemimpinan menimbulkan hambatan relasional dalam Tim Koordinatorat sehingga capaian kinerja tidak efektif”. Temuan tersebut ditindaklanjuti dengan penyusunan program seminar dan dialog dengan topik “Komunikasi Kepemimpinan Pendidikan untuk Kepala dan Wakil Kepala Sekolah” untuk dilaksanakan tanggal 14 Januari 2021. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan di SMA Bintang Laut Bagansiapiapi yang dimulai dengan pembukaan, penyampaian materi, dialog interaktif temuan permasalahan, pembahasan usul saran solusi, dan penutupan. Peserta melalui kegiatan ini mendapatkan pemahaman pentingnya komunikasi suportif seorang pemimpinan yaitu pemimpin sebagai komunikator manempatkan diri sejajar dengan karyawan, bicara terbuka, dan spontan, sehingga pesan-pesan evaluatif dalam komunikasi dapat diterima secara wajar. Dialog interaktif yang terjadi dalam pembahasan solusi atas permasalaahan riil yang dialami menyadarkan Tim Koordinatorat bahwa komunikasi interpersonal menjadi tidak efektif dipengaruhi oleh perilaku yang tidak terbuka, kurang empatik, serta tidak sportif. Hasil capaian ini perlu tindaklanjut pendampingan perbaikan perilaku komunikasi oleh yayasan pengelola sekolah dan pengembangan konsep serta ketrampilan komunikasi supaya menjadi pembiasaan perilaku pimpinan sekolah.

Abstract

SMA Santa Maria is a private educational institution in Pekanbaru under supervision of Yayasan Prayoga Riau. Organizational life cycle of SMA Santa Maria commenced when it was founded in 1975. Having achieved many accomplishments since the establishment had brought notable progress. External development and presence of competitors over time became challenges which need immediate response from school management team to improve those accomplishments, thus it was positioned at growth stage. The school management team had discussed it and decided to initiate a seminar and interactive dialogue “Organizational Life Cycle and Strategies for improving Governance at SMA Santa Maria” held on May 14 2022. It began with opening ceremony, presentation, discussion and interactive dialogue.  The discussion formulated some strategies: a) reviewing vision and mission, b) collecting feedback on school performance quality and student satisfaction index on school performance analyzed with Important-Performance Analysis (IPA) method, c) setting priority on investment based on results of IPA method. Finally, school management team needs to conduct implementation control so that SMA Santa Maria is able to maintain organizational cycle at growth stage and avoid the decline stage

Abstract

College students’ grade point average (GPA) can be affected by either internal or external factors. Internal factors include intelligences, interests, motivation, and preparedness. Family surroundings and learning environment combined with lecturers’ competencies are categorized as external factors. This study was conducted to study the influence of lecturers’ competencies including pedagogical and professional competencies on students’ GPA at AKJP II Pekanbaru. Analysis was performed with linearity regression test, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, heterocedascity and coefficient of determination test. The Instrument used to gather data was a questionnaire involving 12 lecturers and 30 college students. Data analysis showed significance of the lecturers’ pedagogical and professional competencies on students’ GPA of 67.1% with the value of correlation coefficient is 0.819. It indicated that there was a high correlation between lecturers’ pedagogical and professional competencies and first-year students’ GPA. Abstract

This study applied SWOT analysis as a means of justification for Akademi Kesehatan John Paul II Pekanbaru to administer Recognition of Prior Learning program. SWOT analysis internally and externally identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threat of AKJP II Pekanbaru through interview with 30 respondents. The first interview obtained indicators of strength=15, weakness=7, opportunity=11, threat=10. The second interview obtained a qualitative analysis of each indicator which was subsequently analyzed with IFAS-EFAS matrix with score 1.19 : -0.13 (Quadrant II) outlining AKJP II Pekanbaru had strength along with threat emphasizing to use strengths to exploit long-term opportunities. Concentric diversification strategy was to be applied in which a new program sharing technologies and facilities with current study program may be administered. In conclusion, it supported AKJP II Pekanbaru to administer RPL program for diploma of medical laboratory technology with implementation of IFAS-EFAS evaluation strategies to ensure the administration quality.

Abstract

Leadership is a person's ability to influence others. Leadership competency is required in doing work. Servant leadership is one of the competencies that medical laboratory technologies must possess in serving laboratory visitors. Therefore, this service chose "Servant Leadership Competence to Improve the Quality of Services for Health Workers Graduates of the Akademi Kesehatan John Paul II Pekanbaru". The method of this activity is a seminar - interactive dialogue – face-to-face group discussion with 32 participants. The purpose of this activity is for participants to master the concept of serving leadership, form a commitment to serve and manifest serving behaviour to participants as medical laboratory technologies. Technologies who apply the service will create comfort and satisfaction for laboratory visitors, impacting the increasing number of laboratory visitors.
