Abstract

Loneliness is an experience that can have far-reaching effects on individuals, especially adolescents, who are in an important developmental phase. Subjective well-being, which includes positive emotions, life satisfaction, and emotional experiences, is an important indicator in assessing adolescents' mental health. This study aims to explore the role of loneliness in influencing subjective well-being in adolescents. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design, involving 300 adolescent respondents aged 13-18 years. Data were collected through an online questionnaire consisting of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and Diener's Subjective Well-Being Scale. The results of the analysis show that loneliness has a significant negative influence on subjective well-being, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.314. This shows that 31.4% of the variation in subjective well-being can be explained by the level of loneliness. This study indicates that increased levels of loneliness are associated with decreased subjective well-being in adolescents. The findings provide important insights for the development of interventions aimed at improving adolescents' psychological well-being and reducing feelings of loneliness.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental health issues among adolescents has become a significant concern, with subjective well-being playing a crucial role in their overall happiness. Understanding the factors that contribute to subjective well-being is essential, particularly in educational settings. This study aims to examine the impact of GRIT on the subjective well-being of adolescents, hypothesizing that higher levels of GRIT will be associated with improved subjective well-being. 300 adolescents participated in this study, with data collected through online questionnaires administered from October 20 to November 10, 2024. The analysis was conducted using linear regression to explore the relationship between GRIT and subjective well-being. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between GRIT and subjective well-being, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.223. This indicates that GRIT accounts for 22.3% of the variance in subjective well-being, with a significant p-value of 0.040. The findings suggest that higher levels of GRIT positively influence the subjective well-being of adolescents. This underscores the importance of fostering GRIT in educational contexts to enhance students' overall happiness and life satisfaction.

This study aims to explore the role of social support on adolescents' subjective well-being. Social support is one of the important aspects that contribute to individual happiness, especially in the context of adolescent life, which often faces various emotional challenges. This study aims to determine the extent to which social support affects subjective well-being in adolescents. The research was conducted through an online survey involving 300 adolescent participants. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with data analysis conducted using linear regression. The results showed that social support contributed 36.5% to subjective well-being (R² = 0.365, p = 0.000). This finding indicates that the higher the social support received by individuals, the better their subjective well-being. Social support from friends and family has been shown to be effective in reducing stress and increasing happiness. This study concludes that social support has a significant influence on adolescents' subjective well-being, indicating the importance of positive social relationships in improving their quality of life.
