Abstract

The diversity of spirituality patterns of generations in the church is a reality. Each generation has a unique style of spirituality. This uniqueness is a gift from God which of course is also shaped by the life experiences of each generation that is permitted by God. This challenges the church to carry out a generation-based ministry to develop the spirituality of the congregation. This paper helps ministers to understand the spiritual characteristics of each generation as a basis for developing intergenerational spirituality ministries. The uniqueness of the spirituality of generations must be embraced in the fellowship of the congregation as the family of God.

Abstract

This paper focuses on interpersonal communication in interfaith families. Interfaith families are smallunits of society whose members are of different religions. Differences are often a source of conflict between husband and wife, including religion. In the way of life of interfaith couples, different opinions about beliefs cause problems. Differences are still unavoidable in families married to different religions. Religious differences can lead to prolonged conflicts. Although different religions, of course, the family has the right to live in peace and happiness as a family in general. However, it is undeniable that interfaith families cannot last long. Therefore, efforts are needed for families to be able to live with each other accepting differences in terms of different religions. Communication is one of the efforts to maintain family harmony. Lack of communication can cause rifts in the household. The purpose of the study was to describe the effectiveness of interpersonal communication for families of different religions. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. This approach seeks to find problems and solutions in the field. Research results in interpersonal communication are communication between individuals or between groups. Interpersonal communication will be more effective if the atmosphere is equal. That is, there must be a tacit acknowledgement that both parties are equally valuable and valuable. Husbands and wives have something important to contribute. In an interpersonal relationship characterized by equality, disagreement and conflict are seen as an attempt to understand differences. This communication helps in avoiding and reducing various problems and can share knowledge and experiences with family members. There are five general qualities of interpersonal communication effectiveness for interfaith families: 1) Openness, 2) Empathy, 3) Supportive Attitude, 4) Positive Attitude, 5) Equality.

Abstract

Pelayanan dalam gereja yang cenderung memisahkan jemaat berdasarkan usia dan generasi dapat memperlebar gap generasi bahkan berdampak pada perpecahan jemaat. Gap generasi merusak relasi persekutuan dalam gereja. Tulisan ini bertujuan menawarkan konsep pendidikan kristiani intergenerasi sebagai upaya pemulihan kehidupan bergereja. Hasil yang dicapai melalui penelitian studi kepustakaan yang relevan adalah konsep pendidikan kristiani intergenerasi di gereja. Pendidikan intergenerasi dalam gereja dimaknai sebagai upaya pemulihan kehidupan bergereja. Pendidikan kristiani intergenerasi dapat memperkuat persekutuan dan meminimalisir peselisihan akibat kesenjangan generasi.

Abstract

This paper aims to elaborate Paulo Freire's thoughts on the prophetic church and its relevance for the church today. The method used to achieve the goal is library research. In particular, it is focused on the thoughts of one educational figure, Paulo Freire, who contributed to his thoughts on liberation education by the church in the prophetic church concept. The conclusion of this paper is that education in the church is an important means of bringing about change in society. Consientization by the church is carried out in the spirit of raising the critical awareness of the congregation.    Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi pemikiran Paulo Freire tentang gereja yang profetik dan relevansinya bagi gereja masa kini. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Secara khusus difokuskan pada pemikiran salah satu tokoh pendidikan, Paulo Freire, yang memberi sumbangan pemikiran mengenai pendidikan pembebasan oleh gereja dalam konsep gereja yang profetik. Kesimpulan tulisan ini adalah pendidikan dalam gereja merupakan sarana penting dalam mewujudkan perubahan dalam masyarakat. Konsientisasi oleh gereja dilakukan dengan semangat menumbuhkan kesadaran kritis jemaat.

Abstract

Bahaya radikalisme agama mengancam kehidupan komunitas beragama bahkan berbangsa dan bernegara. Tujuan tulisan ini menawarkan solusi melalui peranan keluarga dalam mendidik anak untuk mampu hidup bersama dalam konteks multikultural. Tujuan ini akan dicapai dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil yang dicapai adalah penerapan pendidikan multikultural oleh orang tua bagi anak dalam keluarga kristen. Pendidikan multikultural berbasis iman Kristen penting sebab keluarga merupakan unit terkecil dalam sebuah bangsa yang memiliki kekuatan besar dalam meminimalisir bahkan mencegah terjadinya teror yang dapat menghancurkan kehidupan beragama dan berbangsa.

Abstract

The perspective and attitude of religious moderation is a necessity in the context of religious diversity, especially in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Religious diversity in NTT is a potential as well as a challenge that needs to be managed properly, especially through Christian education. The Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT), which is one of the churches in the NTT region, can play a role in supporting religious moderation education, through service to the Alpha generation. This generation is a concern because they were born in the digital era with dominant digital, social, global, mobile, and visual characters. This paper aims to offer a learning model that supports religious moderation for the Alpha generation. The method used is relevant literature research. The results offered are learning models in Christian education to form perspectives and attitudes of religious moderation for the Alpha generation. The models offered are individualized learning models, self-directed learning, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning. AbstrakPerspektif dan sikap moderasi beragama merupakan kebutuhan dalam konteks keberagaman agama, secara khusus di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Keberagaman agama di NTT merupakan potensi sekaligus tantangan yang perlu dikelola dengan baik, khususnya melalui pendidikan kristiani. Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT) yang merupakan salah satu gereja di wilayah NTT dapat berperan mendukung pendidikan moderasi beragama, melalui pelayanan terhadap generasi Alpha. Generasi ini menjadi perhatian sebab mereka lahir di era digital dengan karakter dominan digital, social, global, mobile dan visual. Tulisan ini bertujuan menawarkan model pembelajaran yang mendukung moderasi beragama bagi generasi Alpha. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian literatur yang relevan. Hasil yang ditawarkan adalah model pembelajaran dalam pendidikan kristiani untuk membentuk perspektif dan sikap moderasi beragama bagi generasi Alpha. Model yang ditawarkan adalah model pembelajaran individualised, self-directed learning, collaboration, dan inquiry-based learning.

Abstract

Generation Alpha is a new generation that is present in the midst of society and the church has unique characteristics. By having broad insight into the Alpha generation, child servants, teachers and parents are greatly assisted in educating and nurturing the Alpha generation. This book provides a number of insights about the Alpha generation from describing their characteristics and needs, to how to nurture and educate them, even to predicting their future so that it can be anticipated early on. AbstrakGenerasi Alpha adalah generasi baru yang hadir di tengah- tengah masyarakat dan gereja memiliki karakteristik yang unik. Dengan memiliki wawasan yang luas mengenai generasi Alpha para pelayan anak, guru dan orang tua sangat dibantu dalam mendidik dan mengasuh generasi Alpha. Buku ini menyajikan sejumlah wawasan mengenai generasi Alpha mulai dari gambaran karakteristik dan kebutuhan mereka, sampai pada cara mengasuh dan mendidik mereka, bahkan sampai pada memprediksi masa depan mereka sehingga dapat diantisipasi sejak dini.

Abstract

The church in its ministry is ever sensitive to respond to the needs of the congregation according to the times. Congregations comprised of several generations often become mired in congregational divisions, stemming from generational gap issues that then foment intergenerational conflicts. To respond to this problem, the church must equip itself with insights into generational characteristics so as to improve generation-based ministries. Therefore, this paper promotes the convergence of generational theory and church ministry, to enrich the church by means of an understanding of generations according to their characteristics. Toward these aims, a methodological literature review yields that generational theory presents a major contribution for the church that seeks to maximize its congregational ministry towards all who belong to God. For Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor, (Evangelical Christian Church in Timor), having a good understanding of generational theory and how it contributes to ministry is useful for developing and implementing strategies involving intergenerational Christian education.

Abstract

Spirituality education is a necessity in the church. This becomes very important to note because, in the educational process, there is a tendency for educators to only maximize cognitively and ignore the spirituality of students. This paper aims to build the spirituality of educators in the church. This goal helps educators carry out spirituality education in the church. The method used to achieve the goal is descriptive qualitative. The result is that educators need to build and maintain Christian spirituality as the basis for educating educators in the church.Pendidikan spiritualitas merupakan kebutuhan dalam gereja. Hal ini menjadi sangat penting untuk diperhatikan sebab dalam proses mendidik ada kecenderungan bahwa pendidik hanya memaksimalkan kognitif dan mengabaikan spiritualitas nara didik. Tulisan ini bertujuan membangun spiritualitas pendidik dalam gereja. Tujuan ini menolong para pendidik dalam melakukan pendidikan spiritualitas di gereja. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hasilnya pendidik perlu membangun dan merawat spiritualitas Kristen sebagai dasar dalam mendidik naradidik di gereja.
