Abstract

Shift work is a method of allocating work time to different workgroups. Fatigue is defined as an abnormal sensation of tiredness, sluggishness, or a lack of desire to engage in activities, which results in stress, depression, or other negative emotions. In order to satisfy patients within 24 hours, hospitals must organize nurses by shift. The goal of this study at Muhammadiyah Palembang Hospital was to see if there was a link between shift work and fatigue in pediatric and internal ward nurses. This cross-sectional and analytic study entailed 26 respondents from the total sampling method used. In this study, those who worked shifts included those who worked in the morning (12 respondents (46.2 %), evening (8 respondents (30.8%), and night (6 respondents (23.1 %). Fatigue has been linked to 38% of RSMP's overworked pediatric ward nurses and interna, with a p-value of 0.029. The hospital should provide rest periods for nurses, especially those who work the last shift because they must adapt during the night.

Abstract

Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory tract disease, caused by several influenza RNA viruses. The Influenza vaccine shows a protective effect against the virus that causes COVID-19. The purpose of this activity was to increase parents' knowledge about influenza and increase children's immunity to the influenza virus. The form of activity was divided into two, namely health counseling to the parents and then followed by injecting the Influenza vaccine to the children. The health education method chosen was counseling in big class at Family Medicine Clinic, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Health education was preceded by a pre-test with 5 multiple choice questions and ended with a same-question post-test. The average pre-test score was 75.5 and the post-test score was 93.3. There was an increase in the score which indicates an increase in the knowledge of the parents. Of the 18 parents who attended counseling, only 6 parents allowed their children to be vaccinated. The number of children vaccinated was 11 people. The follow up showed no sign of adverse effects of Influenza vaccination on children.

Abstract

A fire broke out at the Darussalam Muhammadiyah Ogan Ilir Islamic Boarding School, destroying six surrounding schools. The mass circumcision event was coordinated with the Grand Religious Colloquium and the opening of an educational institution for impoverished students. Thirty-seven children who participated in community service took part in the blessing of mass circumcision. A significant number of officials and community guests of honor attended the event, which included the Deputy Regent of Ogan Ilir, a representative from the Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, the Chairman of the South Sumatra Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, the Chancellor of the Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, the PDM Chairman of Ogan Ilir, and representatives from TNI, Polri, the Payaraman sub-district head, and village heads. The session concluded with the attendees' tremendous enthusiasm for the event, for which they had earlier registered. Parallel circumcision initiatives could be undertaken alongside other activities. The Deputy Regent and Muhammadiyah Regional Leader of Ogan Ilir hopes that mass circumcision s will continue and be extended to other districts during the future KKN session. It is crucial to gather details concerning circumcision participants, assess the sufficiency of the number of operators, and establish the best time for the activity.
