Abstract

Abstract

Abstract. Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) and Explore strategies are two constructivism-based learning approaches that have been proven effective in increasing student engagement that can encourage students to predict a phenomenon, make observations, and then explain the results of observations. This study aims to determine the effect of Predict Observe Explain and Explore-based learning strategies on student responses and learning outcomes in class VIII MTs Mambaul Abror Turida. Using Predict Observe Explain and Explore learning strategies to improve student learning outcomes in the aspects of predicting, observing, making temporary assumptions (hypotheses), exploring, making conclusions, explaining and communicating them. This research is a quantitative study, the type of research used is Quasi Experiment Design. The population in this study were students of MTs Mambaul Abror Turida. The research sample was taken using a random sampling technique, so that members of the population who participated in the sample had an equal opportunity to become members of the sample. The samples of this study were taken from 2 classes, namely class VIII A and class VIII B. The research design used Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The research instrument was in the form of a learning outcome test in the form of an essay test and a questionnaire. Analysis of research data using statistical tests, namely the T-test using SPSS. The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of the Predict Observe Explain and Explore learning strategies on student responses and learning outcomes, which can be seen from the results of the t-test, namely the calculated T value of 2.923 and the T table value of 2.023 so that the calculated T 2.923> T table 2.023, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model is a learning model that can connect subject matter with students' real lives, to improve creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on Integrated Science subjects on the creative thinking skills of class VIII students at MTs AL-Muslimun NW Tegal. The type of research used in this study was a quasi-experiment with a Nonequivalent control group design. Sampling used a saturated sample type. The research sample consisted of 24 students for the experimental class, and 24 students for the control class. The data collection technique in this study used a descriptive test instrument. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on Integrated Science subjects on students' Creative Thinking Skills. The results showed that the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on Integrated Science subjects on creative thinking skills has a significant difference with conventional learning. Based on the data obtained through the pretest, the two classes had average scores that were not much different. The experimental class had an average score of 40.42. While the pretest score in the control class had an average score of 35.21. After being given treatment, the average score of the experimental class was much better compared to the control class. Based on the data obtained through the posttest, the experimental class had an average score of 74.79. While the posttest score of the control class had an average score of 54.42. Based on the data obtained through the pretest and posttest in the experimental class and the control class, the results of the achievement of creative thinking skills indicators in the control class were only in the original indicator that could reach the very creative category using conventional learning, namely 80.72% in the very creative category, while in the experimental class there were two indicators that could reach the very creative category, namely flexible thinking 82.29% in the very creative category and original thinking 72.39% in the very creative category using the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model towards students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Indonesia, recognized as a megabiodiversity country, harbors rich biological resources including fungi, which play vital ecological and economic roles. This study aims to analyze the diversity and distribution patterns of macrofungi in the Aikmel Resort area of Mount Rinjani National Park, Lombok. A descriptive–exploratory approach was conducted through field surveys using transect plots in two research stages. Data collection included species identification and measurement of environmental parameters such as temperature, light intensity, soil pH, and humidity. The results of the first stage recorded 40 species, while the second stage identified 37 species. After combining both datasets and removing duplicate species, a total of 68 unique macrofungal species were obtained, belonging to Basidiomycota, Ascomycota, and Mycetozoa. These species were distributed across various orders, families, and genera, with Agaricales and Polyporales as the dominant groups. Most macrofungi were found on decayed wood, indicating its importance as the primary substrate. Diversity analysis revealed a moderate level of diversity with relatively low dominance, fairly even species distribution, and high species richness. Environmental factors such as temperature, soil pH, light intensity, and humidity influenced the variation in macrofungal community structure between the two stages. In conclusion, the Aikmel Resort area exhibits high macrofungal diversity with dynamic community structure influenced by environmental conditions and substrate availability, highlighting its ecological importance as a reservoir of fungal biodiversity.
