Abstract

The objective of this research is to know whether Podcast can improve the students’ pronunciation in speaking English when it is implemented in teaching learning process in class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year.This research method used a Classroom Action Research which was implemented in two cycles. The subject of the research was class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year. This study was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle consisted of four meetings, and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The procedure of the action research consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, field notes, and test. To analyze the quantitative data, the researcher applied descriptive statistics. It was used to compare the scores and means of pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was conducted in the preliminary research while post-test was conducted at the end of cycle 1 and 2. The result of the test was used to know how well the students understand the text of listening. To analyze the qualitative data, the researcher analyzed the improvement of the teaching learning process based on the results of questionnaire, interview, and field notes.The result of the research showed that the use of Podcast has helped students to get exposed to correct pronunciation. By constantly listening to Podcast of native speakers of English, students develop their skill not only in listening but also in pronouncing the words in English correctly. It also has helped the students in improving the students’ vocabulary mastery. In conclusion, by listening to Podcast, students can improve their pronunciation and vocabulary mastery so that they also can speak more during the speaking activity.Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that students’ pronunciation in English can be improved by the use of Podcast. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and students can use Podcast as one of the alternative techniques in teaching and learning speaking.Keywords : Podcast, Proununciation, Speaking Skill, Action Research

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengidentifikasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran Microteaching, (2) keperluan ( need analysis) untuk bahan ajar pengajaran Microteaching yang sesuai dengan era revolusi indutri 4.0, dan (2) mengidentifikasi kelebihan dan kekurangan bahan ajar Microteaching. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pegembangan dengan model ADDIE. penelitian ini akan dibagi menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu pada tahap pertama, penelitian iniakan berfokus pada anlisis masalah tentang pembelajaran microteaching. tahap kedua adalah menganalisis kelebihan dan kekurangan pembelajaran mikro dan tahap tiga adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa proto tipe modul microteaching. Data dalam penelitian ini akan diperoleh melalui focus group discussion, observasi,wawancara dan questionaer. Sedangkan data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknin analisis data qualatative Miles and Huberman yang terdiri dari sajian data (data display), reduksi data dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan yang dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun akademik 2019/2020 pembelajaran Microteaching mengalami permasalahan dikarenakan adanya pandemi covid 19 pada akhir Febuari. Sehingga pembelajaran microteaching tidak dapat sepenuhnya dilaksanakan sesuai dengan rencana pembelajaran semester, pembelajaran microteaching tidak dapat dilaksanakan di ruang laboratorium microteaching akan tetapi dilaksanakan secara daring di lokasi masing-masing mahasiswa..tentu hal ini menyulitkan mahasiswa karena berbeda dengan konsep awal teori dimana mahasiswa dapat mempraktekan teori keterampilan dasar mengajar dengan teman satu kelas ( peerteaching) dan disupervisi oleh praktisi , dosen dan juga mendapatkan masukan dari teman sejawat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut diperlukan kreatifitas dosen pengampu mata kuliah untuk menyesuaikan kondisi yang sedang dialami dalam masa pandemi. Dosen pengampu selanjutnya menggunakan strategy joyful learning dalam pembelajaran Micrteaching. Sebelum mahsiswa melakukan praktek mengajar, dosen membekali mahsiswa dengan toeri joyful learning secara virtual sehingga mahsiswa dapat melakukan praktek dengan kondisi psikologis yang menyenangkan namun tetap mencapai learning outcome yang telah ditentukan. Abstract

Role of Head of Sub-District Leadership in Improving Employee Performance in Samarinda Ulu District Office. In accordance with the formulation of the problem, this research aims to determine how the role of the sub-district's leadership in improving employee performance in the Samarinda Ulu sub-district office, with the indicators of the role of leadership, namely Fathfinding, Aligning, Empowering and using employee performance indicators, namely quality. Work, Work Quantity, Implementation of Duties, and Responsibilities. This type of researchuses descriptive qualitative snowball sampling technique, which is a technique of determining the sample which is initially small in number, then enlarges. The results of the study show that the role of the sub-district head in improving employee performance at the Samarinda Ulu sub-district office has been running quite well in terms of work quality, work quantity, implementation of duties and responsibilities and can maximize things that are considered less than optimal in order to produce performance. which is of higher quality, because with quality performance it will have an impact on the progress of the organization itself.
