Abstract

This This study aims to describe the level of students’ thinking profilein solving parabolic motion problems based on the SOLO taxonomy seen from learning outcomes and gender. This is a survey research without a comparison group. Data collection was done by giving 4 questions to 95class X MIA students at SMAN 1 Sungai Raya, and categorized based on learning outcomes (high, medium, low) and gender (male, female). The level ofstudents’ thinking profile in solving parabolic motion problems based on SOLO taxonomyis 50.52% at the pre-structural level, 11.57% at the uni-structural level, 21.05% at the multi-structural level, 16.84% at relational level , and0% at extended-abstract level. Additionally, students with high learning outcomes reached the uni-structural-relational thinking level, while moderate ones reached the uni-structural-multi-structural level, and low ones reached the uni-structural-pre-structural level. In terms of gender, female students' average percentage of thinking level is 44.2% higher than male students with only 33.6% of the ideal score.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using Systematic Approach Strategy on remedy to reduce the total incorrect results on answering the test on the topic of work and energy on the students at SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar. The population in this research are 72 students. Technique of data collection in this research is intact group with 36 students as the sample. The research implements experiment method. The research use limited topic on the test consist of work and energy. Statistic test used in this research is Wilcoxon  with value  = -0.1631, if this results are compared with value  on taraf nyata  = 0.025, it resulted, with the value 0.1631 < 1,96. After analyze found that there are no significant differences on the total incorrect results on answering the test on the topic of work and energy by students at XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Batu Ampar before and after remedy. The Conclusion from the results found that the strategy can reduce the total incorrect results of the students answering the test on the topic of work and energy with effectiveness low at the average 11.18%.Keywords:

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the integrated remediation using booklet-assisted CORE leraning model to reduce students' learning difficulties about vibrations and waves at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. The research design is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design with 27 students in class VIII C as samples using the intact group technique. The instruments are two-tiered multiple choice tests to analyze students’ learning difficulties related to concepts and essay tests to analyze students’ learning difficulties related to errors in solving problems. Based on the results, it is found that: (1) Students’ total misconceptions decreasing by 84.2%. (2) There is a significant conceptual change in all test items. (3) All students’ total errors in solving questions decreased by 78.32% (4) There are significant difference between the number of students' initial and final mistakes. (5) The percentage of all students’ learning difficulties decreased by 78.91%. (6) The remediation integration using CORE model assisted by a booklet has a high effectiveness to reduce students’ learning difficulties. The result of this study is expected to be a consideration for teachers in designing learning difficulties’ remediation activities for students, especially about vibrations and waves.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a multiple choice diagnostic test on the Archimedes Law to identify misconceptions of junior high school students in Kubu Raya Regency. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D). The test development steps used are the Borg and Gall development steps which consist of 7 steps. The test consisted of 30 multiple choice questions accompanied by reasons followed by 28 small-scale test students and 119 students on large-scale test. The characteristics of the diagnostic test used consist of 6 characteristics. The results of the data analysis are appropriate if it is associated with good test characteristics, namely the test is specifically designed to detect misconceptions and developed based on the students' initial conception, the readability level of questions is 4.07 according to junior high school level, has a high validity of 0.75, high reliability of 0.748, and has a level of moderate or low difficulty. From the characteristics of the test, there are 28 questions that can be used. The results of this study are expected to be useful for future researchers as research instruments regarding the Archimedes law

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Cooperative Problem Solving model in enhancing the problem solving skills of students of SMPN 3 Sungai Raya in the pressure of solids. The research forms used was quasy experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The sample was students VIII G as an experimental class and VIII E was the control class which drawn by using intact group. The instrument used 5 essay questions. The result showed that there was no difference in the student problem solving skills of the control class and experimental classes before being given the implementation of Cooperative Problem Solving model and conventional learning (. There was difference in the student problem solving skills of the control class and experimental classes after being given the implementation of Cooperative Problem Solving model and conventional learning (. Implementation of Cooperative Problem Solving model effective to improve the student problem solving skills with effect size 1,89 (high category).
