Abstract

Ecumenism as a movement always pursue movement that always include as many as possible people in this world. To make that real, the thought of Meister Eckhart and Ibn Al-‘Arabi can be a great inspiration. In this paper i argue that Eckhart and ‘Arabi’s thought about Cosmic Spirituality can contribute to Participative Ecumenism especially in Asia with all the context in it. Their concept with stresses in relation of all Creation in this world can make something in the struggle of Asian People. The relation of all Creation can make support the Ecumenism with a great care of Poverty and real engagement in Interreligious Dialogue.

Abstract

Pengalaman menjadi bangsa jajahan tentu menjadi sebuah luka yang sulit untuk dilupakan oleh yang pernah mengalaminya. Apalagi kalau pengalaman itu diwariskan secara turun-temurun dari generasi ke generasi. Tulisan ini kemudian akan mencoba untuk mengungkap sebagian dari itu melalui pendekatan Poskolonial dengan cara menggali pengalaman bangsa Yahudi sebagai bangsa jajahan yang digambarkan dengan “Tanduk Kecil” dalam Daniel 8. Kitab Daniel yang menyimpan pengalaman Daniel sebagai jajahan bangsa Babel tapi juga sebenarnya ditujukan untuk pembaca Yahudi yang sementara dalam penjajahan itu kemudian didialogkan dengan pengalaman bangsa Indonesia yang pernah menjadi bangsa jajahan Jepang. Dialog kedua konteks ini akan memperlihatkan bahwa memori penjajahan bisa diartikan sebagai memori penderitaan.

Abstract

Abstract. Ibn Taymiyya as one of Syaikul Islam (Islamic Expert) and Mujaddid (Revolutioner) frequently cited by extrimist in Islam. This fact cannot have a good correlation with his long life works that also talks about love. When the writings about love is cited also, the other side of Ibn Taymiyya can be seen as a basis from Islamic-Christian dialogue. This paper is examines the writings of Ibn Taymiyya that talks about love. To seen his concept clearly, i will compare it with the concept of love in Sufism and also seeks the similarity and differences between them to see its influences in Ibn Taymiyya’s thought. I will try to see The concept of love from Ibn Taymiyya as a basis for dialogue, eventhough many other writings from him is also cited to support the extrimist concept.Keywords : Ibn Taymiyya, Love, Sufism, Islam-Christian dialogue. Abstrak. Ibn Taymiyya sebagai salah satu Syaikul Islam (Ahli Islam) dan Mujaddid (Revolusi) sering dikutip oleh extrimist dalam Islam. Fakta ini tidak dapat memiliki korelasi yang baik dengan karya-karya panjang umurnya yang juga berbicara tentang cinta. Ketika tulisan-tulisan tentang cinta dikutip juga, sisi lain Ibnu Taimiyah dapat dilihat sebagai dasar dari dialog Islam-Kristen. Makalah ini membahas tulisan-tulisan Ibnu Taimiyah yang berbicara tentang cinta. Untuk melihat konsepnya dengan jelas, saya akan membandingkannya dengan konsep cinta dalam Sufisme dan juga mencari kesamaan dan perbedaan di antara mereka untuk melihat pengaruhnya dalam pemikiran Ibnu Taimiyya. Saya akan mencoba untuk melihat konsep cinta dari Ibnu Taimiyah sebagai dasar untuk dialog, meskipun banyak tulisan lain darinya juga dikutip untuk mendukung konsep extrimist.Kata kunci: Ibn Taymiyya, Cinta, Sufisme, dialog Islam-Kristen.

Abstract

This article argues that postcolonial trauma theory is beneficial not only for recognizing postcolonial people’s trauma but also for the development of religious studies. The western trauma theory ignored the trauma of colonialism which still has many influences in the contemporary world. Here to respond to that condition, the postcolonial trauma theory shall probe how colonialism left trauma in the society of postcolonial people. Not only that topic, but this article also investigates how the adaptation of postcolonial trauma theory on religious studies. Because religion, as a fact of contemporary society, has got a thorough influence from colonialism. The approach of this study is qualitative research by investigating literature about postcolonial trauma. By probing the literature around the postcolonial trauma theory and its adaption in religious studies, this article shall open the possibility of another development in religious studies. This research concludes that the postcolonial trauma theory can be advantageous to religious studies. Keywords: Postcolonial trauma; trauma studies; religious studies; biblical studies.

Abstract

This essay argues that the story of the Garden of Eden is a genuine image of the creational relation between humans and nature. Using the perspective of ecological analysis, this essay shows that the story of the Garden of Eden consequently presented the anthroposentical, biosentrical, and ecosentrical, relation between the creation of God. It appeared that the Garden of Eden is the representation of the idea of good relationship between human and nature before the human greedness destroy the perfect relation. This story also comes with a reminder to human nature responsibility with his/her environment in the first place

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas konsep “Melepaskan” dengan mengkaji di tiga ranah yang berbeda.Dari segi teologi dengan menilik kitab Amsal.Lalu dari Spiritualitas dengan menelusuri konsep tersebut dari pemikiran tokoh mistik besar, Meister Eckhart. Lalu dari Seni dengan mempertimbangkan lagu “lepas bebas dari Iwa K. Kajian ini memperlihatkan bahwa konsep “melepaskan” itu punya peranan yang cukup signifikan dalam berbagai ranah kehidupan. Dengan mempertimbangkan hal tersebut, konsep ini rupanya memberi kegunaan besar bagi umat manusia.
