Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh materi jaringan tumbuhan sulit dipahami karena memiliki cakupan materi yang sangat luas dan ketersediaan fasilitas yang belum memadai untuk melakukan pengamatan jaringan tumbuhan yang bersifat mikroskopis di SMA Sains Wahid Hasyim. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Modul Jaringan Tumbuhan Berbasis Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk Siswa Kelas XI SMA. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (R&D) model prosedural tipe 4D (Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate). Produk divalidasi dan dinilai oleh 2 ahli materi, 1 ahli media dan 6 peer reviewer. Uji terbatas pada penelitian ini diberikan kepada 2 guru biologi dan 15 siswa kelas XI SMA Sains Wahid Hasyim. Instrumen penelitian pengembangan ini adalah instrumen wawancara dan angket check list. Analisis data dilakukan dengan scoring menggunakan skala Likert, kemudian menghitung skor rata-rata setiap aspek dan dilanjutkan menghitung persentase keidealan dengan rumus distribusi frekuensi relatif. Hasil penilaian ahli materi, ahli media dan peer reviewer menunjukkan bahwa modul termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan persentase ideal penilaian berturut-turut 85,71%, 87,50%, dan 92,96%. Sedangkan guru biologi menilai modul dalam kategori baik dengan persentase 70% dan respon siswa menunjukkan sangat setuju dengan persentase 86,91%. Dengan demikian modul ini layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran biologi. This study was motivated by the material of plant tissue was difficult to understand because it had very broad scope of material and the availability of inadequate facilities for observing microscopic plant tissue in Wahid Hasyim Science High School (SMA Sains Wahid Hasyim). This study aimeds to develop Plant Tissues Module Based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Approach for students of grade XI SMA. The study type was research and development (R&D) of 4D (Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate) type procedural model. The product was validated and assessed by 2 material experts, 1 media expert, and 6 peer reviewers. The limited test in this study was given to 2 biology teachers and 15 grade XI students. The instrument used in this study were interviewing instrument and checklist questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by scoring using a Likert scale, then calculating the average score of each aspect and proceeding to calculate the percentage of ideals using the relative frequency distribution formula. The assessment results of material experts, media expert and peer reviewers showed that the module was in very good category with ideal percentage 85.71%, 87.50%, and 92.96% respectively. While the biology teachers assesed the module in good category with 70% and students’ response indicated strongly agree with 86.91%. Thus, this module can be used as teaching material in the biology learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Pada beberapa tanaman buah di daerah subtropis, gen pengkode thaumatin-like protein (TLP) seringkali dikaitkan dengan allergen atau gen pengkode protein penyebab alergi. Selain itu protein yang dikode gen ini juga diketahui berperan dalam proses pertahanan tanaman terhadap stress kekeringan dan serangan pathogen. Kajian ini akan membahas tentang  potensi gen pengkode TLP pada lima varietas tanaman apel yang seringkali ditanam para petani apel di Indonesia, yaitu Ana, Manalagi, Rome Beauty, Wanglin dan Australi. Gen tersebut terdeteksi dengan teknik PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) menggunakan primer Mal d 2.01B. Hasil perbandingan sekuen gen pengkode TLP pada 5 varietas apel yang digunakan menunjukkan bahwa semua sampel memiliki similaritas sekuen dengan sekuen gen pengkode TLP antara lain dari tanaman Malus x domestica clone M2-FS7, Malus x domestica clone M2-PM2, Malus x domestica clone M2-FS1, Malus domestica cv. Gala, Pyrus pyrifolia cv. Cuili, Prunus persica cv. Yuanhuangtao, dengan tingkat similaritas yang berbeda-beda.   Kata kunci:  gen pengkode TLP, allergen, Malus sylvestris Mill.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the improvement of learning outcomes and student interest at MA Ali Maksum students on skeletal system materials after the media Aves skeletal system was implemented in the class. This research was carried out by using  class action executed in two cycles. Every cycle consisted of planning phase, action, observation and reflection. The learning outcomes and students interest were obtained from test (pretest and postest) and questionnaires respectively. The results of this research showed that from cycle I and II, the improved learning outcomes was observed with percentage > 80%. Meanwhile, all student showed the high interest to study skeletal system materials due to of using instructional media of Aves skeletal system during learning process in the class. Finally, it can be concluded that using of Aves skeletal system as instructional media in the class was a quite effective.keywords: instructional media, skeletal system, learning biology

Abstract

Yards have a role in maintaining community food security with one of the food sources being local vegetables. This group of plants has advantages, including having adapted to the local environment, being easy to obtain, and containing substances that are beneficial to the body. This research aims to determine the diversity and nutritional potential of local garden vegetables in Bantul Regency. Data collection was carried out using survey methods and semi-structured interviews using questionnaire instruments. The location for data collection was determined purposively, covering areas in 7 sub-districts (kepanewon) in Bantul Regency. Plant samples are then documented and identified. Proximate, mineral and vitamin analyzes were carried out on kedi (Cnidoscolus chayamansa McVaugh), tayuman (Bauhinia purpurea L.), and mulberry (Morus sp.) plants. The research results showed that there were 71 species from 27 families of local vegetables in residents' yards. The types of local vegetable plants recorded are in the Fabaceae family. Meanwhile, the plants that are often found in residents' yards are chilies (Capsicum spp.), bananas (Musa paradisiaca L.), eggplant (Solanum melongena L.), cassava (Manihot utilissima Pohl.), spinach (Amaranthus sp.), and jackfruit ( Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.). Comparison of the results of nutritional analysis of three vegetables shows that among the three plants in 100 grams of sample there is the highest value of sodium in kedi leaves, namely 22.73 mg; protein content 7.36%, vitamin A 209.88 mg, and potassium 441.78 mg in tayuman; and energy from total fat 24.57 Kcal, total energy 84.85 Kcal, and calcium 485.43 mg in mulberries.
