Abstract

This article aimed to study one of the phenomenological approaches proposed by Richard C. Martin. Religion is a complicated thing to be studied. Since Islam as a multi-dimensional religion requires a comprehensive study through methods and approaches. Generally, Richard C. Martin stated that religion is a social phenomenon that arises or is intentionally raised to regulate the goodness of human life. Commonly, this kind of approach is still unacceptable, but it should be considered as a research object for academics (khawas). Especially in Islamic education academics. The authors employed library research method to further elaborate on Richard C. Martin's thought in his phenomenological approach. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the law on the transfer of waqf assets. According to its provisions, waqf assets must be managed according to the objectives set by the waqf provider (wakif) at the time the property is handed over. However, in practice, it is not uncommon for waqf assets to be converted to different functions from their original purpose, giving rise to legal questions that need to be answered. In that context, this study seeks to provide answers. This study uses a literature approach by referring to the texts of the Qur'an, Hadith, the opinions of scholars contained in the books of fiqh, and positive law regarding waqf in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that the law of origin of waqf does not allow the transfer of functions or transfers, such as being traded, made into individual property, and so on. However, in the condition that the waqf property is no longer useful due to certain factors, then it may be transferred with consideration of the principle of benefit. In fact, in the prevailing regulations in Indonesia, this transfer of function is positioned within the framework of community economic empowerment.

Abstract

Educational transformation requires teachers to continuously improve their competencies and performance to adapt to changes in curriculum, technology, and student needs. In this context, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a strategic instrument to strengthen teachers' professional capacity. However, previous research findings indicate that the relationship between CPD and teacher performance is not entirely consistent, particularly regarding the psychological mechanisms that bridge this influence. This study aims to analyze the influence of CPD on teacher performance, both directly and indirectly through work engagement as a mediating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey design of 275 high school teachers in Sungai Penuh City and Kerinci Regency who were selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-sized questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS. The results showed that CPD had a positive and significant effect on work engagement and teacher performance. In addition, work engagement was proven to have a positive effect on teacher performance and partially mediated the relationship between CPD and teacher performance. These findings confirm that the success of a PKB program is determined not only by increased competency but also by teachers' performance in carrying out their professional duties. Theoretically, this research enriches the study of teacher professional management by integrating the Job Demands-Resources perspective. Practically, the research findings have implications for schools and policymakers in designing PKB programs that can sustainably improve teacher engagement and performance.
