Abstract

Sufism and economics are not the same thing. Sufism, according to popular belief, only teaches moral beliefs toward God and has nothing to do with the world, whereas economic behavior, on the other hand, is a worldly activity that has nothing to do with God. This is a huge oversight that humans are currently making, particularly in economic activities. As a result, the relevance of Sheikh Abdul Qodir Al-Sufism Jailani's thought to economic behavior is discussed in this study. This study will take a qualitative approach with a literature review. Sufism is very relevant to be applied and becomes a motive in economic activities, according to the findings of this study. The three concepts of Al-Jaelani, takhalli tahalli tajalli, will be the driving force of Islamic business ethics, directing good economic activities and bringing closer the concept of work as worship, for good in this world and hereafter.

Abstract

This study investigates how Indonesian Islamic Banks implement mudharabah contracts on financing product. This study uses descriptive research, namely research that defines facts, data, and information gathered from published studies such as books and journals to research findings relevant to the research topic. According to this study, the development of Islamic banks in Indonesia has seen positive growth. One of the products offered by Islamic banks is financing products. This financing is accomplished through the use of various contracts, one of which is the mudharabah contract, which employs a profit-sharing system. This profit-sharing system will be devoted to customers who apply for financing from Islamic Banks that are used to run businesses owned by customers. In the process, the bank will carry out several stages and procedures such as verification to determine the provision of such financing to customers. If it has been verified, the Bank will provide funds or capital to the client to be managed. The customer’s results or profits will be divided between both the customer and the bank under the terms of mudharabah contract. In the process of implementation, this mudharabah contract is based on Islamic law such as the Qur'an and al-Hadith as well as legislation such as MUI fatwas, PSAK as well as OJK, and Bank Indonesia policies.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper discusses the phenomenon of reducing zero from national currencies carried out in several countries to simplify their value. The current floating exchange rate has proven to be unable to guarantee a currency has a stable value. This study shows that the reduction of zero from national currencies only occurs in the fiat money system, where its production and distribution is full of state political interests. In practice, there are many countries that have succeeded in reducing zero from their national currencies, but many have failed. The successful countries in reducing zero from national currencies make their society prosperous; on the other hand, the failed countries can create an economic instability which harms the societies. However, the impact of the policy, whether successful or unsuccessful, in the perspective of maqasid as-shariah is not justifiable because it decreases the value of currency. With this policy, society will lose their property without anything real from their work.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively understand the concept of money within the framework of Islamic principles. To achieve this goal, the authors of the articles employ methods that revolve around conducting a thorough examination of the available literature. The data have been obtained from a combination of primary and secondary sources. The study results show that money refers to any openly disclosed and used medium used by leading financial institutions to exchange, measure and store value. In addition, it is important to note that religious teachings do not explicitly mandate the use of gold and silver as a form of currency. However, the academic literature shows that this monetary form exhibits increased stability and a higher level of resistance to inflation when compared to other forms. In accordance with Islamic economic theory, money has three basic functions: first, as a medium of exchange; second, as a mechanism for determining interest rates or valuation; and third, as a means of obtaining loans, provided that they are backed by gold and silver.

Abstract

The years 2018 and 2019 will be used as the period before the Covid-19 pandemic, while 2020 and 2021 will be used as the period during the Covid-19 pandemic. It uses a quantitative method with measurement tools: independent sample t-test and multiple linear regression. The results of the independent sample t-test are the CAR, FDR, and BOPO variables have differences in the period before the pandemic and during the pandemic. While the ROA, NPF, and NOM variables have no difference in the period before and during the pandemic. From the partial multiple linear regression test (t-test), financial ratios in the form of BOPO and NOM influence ROA. While the variables CAR, FDR, and NPF do not affect ROA. On the other hand, simultaneously the variables CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, and NOM affect ROA. The research results from this article can be used as a source of information by stakeholders in making policies for a better BUS future.

Abstract

“A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow because a dollar today can be invested to get a return”. This sentence has made the function of money which was originally a medium of any transactions turned into commodities for getting any returns. By TVM, productivity and efficiency in investment and business can be measured. However, TVM on the Islamic viewpoint is closely related to interest. The objection of this study is to analyze critically the concept of the time value of money and its relation to interest, as well as the solution that has been offered. This paper is qualitative research with a literature approach based on primary data. The deductive method is used for collecting any data related to the topic of research, while the inductive method is used to describe the findings from primary data. The results of this study indicate that there are several rationalities for implementing TVM in the financial system including time preference, interest, risk bearing, uncertainty, and inflation that arise in society. The implication is, that any rationality that arises from the implementation of TVM must be followed by economic activities that occur in society. In this case, the economic value of time plays a role in separating natural certainty contracts and natural uncertainty contracts. This separation ultimately has implications for the elimination of gharar and interest in contracts.
