Abstract

Ensuring employee health and safety is a critical concern in the palm oil industry, where physically demanding environments can pose significant risks. Traditional health monitoring methods often lack real-time data collection and prompt intervention capabilities, creating gaps in maintaining occupational health standards. This paper addresses these challenges by presenting the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)--based oximeter prototype tailored to the needs of the palm oil industry. The system leverages the Blynk IoT platform to enable continuous monitoring of employees' oxygen saturation levels (SpO2) and heart rates in real time. By integrating sensor-based data collection with a user-friendly interface, the prototype facilitates immediate access to vital health metrics and sends alerts for abnormalities. A simulated palm oil plantation environment was used to evaluate the system, demonstrating its effectiveness in delivering accurate health measurements and timely notifications. Results indicate that the IoT-based oximeter significantly enhances employee health monitoring by addressing the limitations of traditional methods, promoting proactive health management, and enabling timely interventions. This innovation not only improves workplace safety but also fosters a culture of health awareness among employees and is a valuable tool for occupational health monitoring in the palm oil industry.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women in Indonesia. Breast cancer is the uncontrolled growth and continuous division of cells in the breast. And breast cancer attacks women from adolescence to adulthood (Purba and Simanjuntak, 2019). According to the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation in Harahap (2020), currently, young women are more likely to develop breast cancer. This is largely due to the lifestyle of young women, especially in consuming fast food, and the lack of behavior in consuming healthy foods, especially consuming vegetables and fruit. Many lifestyles such as smoking, these things are triggers for the risk of breast cancer in young women (Harahap et al., 2020). This community service activity uses the lecture and discussion method. The planning and preparation of this activity includes identifying respondents, preparing counseling materials and equipment, then the implementer identifies things that will be conveyed during counseling to teenagers. Counseling activities were carried out. The activity was attended The implementation of these activities included counseling activities on adolescent reproductive health, followed by a question-and-answer discussion with counseling participants and ended with an evaluation. The results of the evaluation after counseling showed that 85% of adolescents knew the definition of adolescents, 90% of adolescents knew the differences in adolescent physical changes, and 88% of adolescents knew the differences in adolescents' psychological changes.

Abstract

Postpartum perineal wounds are common complications during vaginal delivery that significantly affect maternal health and recovery. The healing process of these wounds is influenced by multiple factors, including the mother's knowledge and practice of personal hygiene. This study aimed to examine the relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge of personal hygiene and the healing duration of perineal tears at Romana Clinic, Tanjung Anom Village, Pancur Batu Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. A quantitative descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design was employed. A total of 32 postpartum mothers who experienced perineal tears were included using total sampling. Data were collected via a validated structured questionnaire on knowledge and hygiene practices, supplemented by clinical wound healing assessment conducted by qualified midwives on postpartum day 6. Data were analyzed using Fisher's Exact Test, with a significance threshold of p < 0.05. The results indicated that 40.6% of respondents had fair knowledge, 37.5% had poor knowledge, and 21.9% had good knowledge of personal hygiene. Regarding wound healing outcomes, 65.6% of respondents experienced delayed healing (>6 days), while 34.4% achieved wound healing within six days (≤6 days). Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between knowledge of personal hygiene and the healing of perineal tears (p = 0.003), with a large effect size (Cramer's V = 0.60). Respondents with good knowledge demonstrated substantially higher rates of timely wound healing (85.7%) compared to those with fair (30.8%) or poor knowledge (8.3%). Higher levels of knowledge regarding personal hygiene are significantly associated with faster perineal wound healing. These findings underscore the importance of integrating structured hygiene education into routine antenatal and postnatal midwifery services to minimize postpartum complications and promote maternal recovery. Keywords: Maternal Knowledge, Postpartum Mothers, Personal Hygiene, Perineal Wound Healing, Wound Healing Duration.Key
