Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh latihan dengan intensitas sedang yakni Moderate Intensity Continuous Exercise (MICE) terhadap peningkatan kadar irisin serum. Metode penelitian menggunakan true experimental-randomized pretest-posttest control group design dengan partisipasi 20 subjek wanita dengan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) 25-35 kg/m2. Subjek secara random dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yakni CONT (n= 10, kontrol tanpa intervensi), dan MICE (n= 10, Moderate Intensity Continuous Exercise). Intervensi dilakukan secara continuous selama 30 menit. Intervensi dilakukan pukul 08.00-10.00 a.m. Pengambilan darah dilakukan pre-exercise dan 15 menit post-exercise. Pengukuran kadar irisin menggunakan metode ELISA. Teknik analisis data menggunakan t-test dan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dengan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan irisin serum pre dan post-test secara signifikan pada MICE (4,31±0,49 to 5,57±0,71) (p<0,05). Sementara pada CONT tidak terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan (4,35±0,69 to 4,39±0,64) (p>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa MICE dapat meningkatkan kadar irisin serum pada wanita remaja obesitas saat setelah latihan fisik sehingga dapat dijadikan salah satu langkah terapi nonfarmakologis dalam menghambat permasalahan obesitas.

Abstract

This study aimed to prove the effect of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on increasing Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator-1alpha (PGC-1α) levels in obese women. A total of 12 women aged 20-25, with body mass index (BMI) of 25-30 kg/m2, normal systolic blood pressure, and normal resting heart rate as subjects in the study. Subjects were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely K1 (n=6; control without intervention) and K2 (n=6; aerobic exercise). The exercise was carried out with an intensity of 60% -70% HRmax, frequency 3x/week for 8 weeks. Pretest and posttest PGC-1α levels were analyzed using the Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The data analysis technique uses the Paired Sample T-Test with a significant level of 5%. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that aerobic exercise with an intensity of 60% -70% HRmax with a frequency of 3x/week for 8 weeks affected increasing PGC-1α levels in obese women.

Abstract

Irisin in obesity was found to be lower than in individuals with normal weight. Low irisin levels lead to decreased metabolism. Low metabolism causes a decrease in muscle mass, storage of triglyceride energy, and accumulation of excess fatty acids in the body which can lead to the risk of obesity. This study aims to prove the effect of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on increasing irisin levels in obese women. This research method is true experimental with a random calculation design between pretest-posttest groups. A total of 18 obese women aged 20-25 years were actively involved in research activities and were divided into two groups, namely KK (n = 9; control group), and KE (n = 9; experimental group). Aerobic exercise was given using a set intensity of 60-70% HRmax with a treadmill for 45 minutes, 3x/week for 8 weeks. Irisin levels were evaluated before and after the intervention using the ELISA Kit method. The data analysis technique used the Paired Sample T-Test with a 5% confidence level. The results showed the average irisin level between before and after the intervention in KK (0.83±0.97 vs. 0.86±1.25 ng/mL, p=0.961), KE (0.69±0.64 vs. 2.77±1.26 ng/mL, p=0.003). Based on the results of the study it was concluded that aerobic exercise with a set intensity of 60-70% HRmax performed 3x/week for 8 weeks can increase irisin levels in obese women.

Abstract

Background: Children who face difficulties in gross motor skill development may withdraw from physical activities, experience low self-esteem, and suffer from social anxiety. Physical education plays a vital role in fostering gross motor development, especially when delivered through enjoyable and engaging activities such as fun games. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the impact of fun game–based learning on the development of gross motor skills in early primary school children. Methods: The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. A total of 36 second-grade students from SDIT Mutiara Hati in Malang participated in this study. Participants were assigned to one of three groups: a control group, a group-based fun games intervention, and an individual-based fun games intervention. The interventions were implemented three times a week for 30 minutes over a period of seven weeks. Gross motor skills were measured before and after the intervention using the Test of Gross Motor Development–Third Edition (TGMD-3), a reliable and validated instrument. Data were analyzed using homogeneity and normality tests, paired-sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Tukey's HSD post hoc tests, with a significance level set at p < 0.05 (SPSS version 25). Results: Both the individual and group fun game–based learning interventions produced significant improvements in gross motor skills compared with the control group (p < 0.05). Moreover, a significant difference was found between the two intervention types, indicating that the mode of fun game delivery influences outcomes (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Fun game–based learning, whether delivered individually or in groups, effectively enhances gross motor skills among early primary school children. Additionally, individual fun game–based learning demonstrated a significantly greater improvement compared to group-based learning.
