Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a field that discusses mathematics which is associated with culture. Among them are traditional games, traditional ceremonial equipment, numbers, and other cultures. This research is qualitative research with a meta-analysis method that uses the results of both international and national previous studies that discuss the use of ethnomathematics in mathematics learning in the 2000-2020 period. The purpose of this study is to analyze each article obtained about the use and influence of ethnomathematics and traditional games in mathematics education. The research results used in this study consisted of 161 articles from 250 articles obtained. The results of the analysis show that ethnomathematics and traditional games have a significant influence on students' mathematical abilities. In general, mathematical material that can be found based on the results of the analysis is geometry, numbers, and algebra. The use of traditional games to instill concepts in students has an impact on students' mathematical understanding. Besides being able to help understand mathematical concepts, character values are also found in traditional games and cultures from certain areas, such as the values of honesty, cooperation, self-confidence, empathy, and others.

Abstract

Teachers are the main key in efforts to improve the quality of education. Improving and developing the professionalism of teachers in the 21st century, it can be done with ICT-based learning. One alternative is to make interactive quiz media using PowerPoint and quiziz. Making this media was chosen because some teachers have never evaluated learning using technology. Especially during the current pandemic conditions, teachers are expected to be more creative in providing subject matter and keep students enthusiastic about learning from home. With the implementation of this training, it is expected that teachers can master and utilize the PowerPoint media and quiziz application in providing learning evaluations. Based on the training that has been given, it is known that the participants are very interested and feel helped by this interactive quiz media creation training. It can be seen from the results of the evaluation of the questionnaire given at the last meeting, that 85% of the participants were very satisfied with the training provided.

Abstract

This study aims to see the types of mistakes students make in solving HOTS type math problems as well as what mistakes they make. This type of research is a meta-analysis research. Sources of data are obtained by tracing research results in the form of national journals through Google Scholar, and references contained in journals. The analysis was carried out using content analysis techniques. Based on the search results obtained 14 articles relevant to the research title, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that, there are 3 types of error analysis, namely 1) Newman error analysis (NEA). 2) Hadar error analysis. 3) Analysis of the errors found by the researcher. The mistakes made by students were misconceptions, calculations, techniques, understanding, not solving questions, and students being less careful.

Abstract

AbstractThis qualitative research aims to describe students' ability to comprehend mathematical concepts in linear programming material. The research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling method, with a research population of 60 students from class XI MAN 1 Central Aceh. Data collection techniques included initial ability tests, concept understanding ability tests, and interview sheets. The data results were presented and analyzed qualitatively. Based on the analysis that has been carried out, it is concluded that the ability to comprehend mathematical concepts is as follows: (1) students with high abilities can fulfill 4 of the 5 indicators, placing them at a percentage of 87% in the very good category, (2) subjects with moderate ability to comprehend mathematical concepts fulfill all 5 indicators of conceptual understanding, placing them at a percentage of 87% in the very good category, and (3) low ability subjects only fulfill 2 indicators of the 5 indicators of conceptual understanding, placing them at a percentage of 53% in the sufficient category. The results of the analysis of tests on the ability to comprehend mathematical concepts show that students with high mathematical abilities meet five indicators, namely: (1) repetition of concepts, (2) presentation of examples and non-examples, (3) classification of objects, (4) presentation of concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, and (5) application of concepts in problem solving.

Abstract

This article was written aiming to look at the application of the model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) in enhancing reasoning ability and the Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT) of students. This research is an experimental study with a quantitative approach and Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The sample in this study were students of class XI.1 who became an experimental class by giving treatment in the form of learning model  Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) and class XI.2 students as a control class by giving treatment using conventional learning. The instruments in this study were tests in the form of pretest and posttest which were used to see the improvement of reasoning ability and the Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT) of students. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) can improve students' reasoning abilities and the Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT). For reasoning ability, the average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.76 while the N-gain for the control class is 0.13, while for Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT) the average N-gain of the experimental class is 0.66 while the N-gain for the control class is 0.49.
