Abstract

This research was conducted to measure the effectiveness of using mathematics learning videos containing local wisdom during lectures through the Zoom application, and was conducted in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at the campus of the Santu Paulus Ruteng Catholic University of Indonesia. The instrument used was a test, and data collection was done by giving a test description. Hypothesis I was tested using paried sample test, while hypothesis II was tested using independent sample test. The results showed that in the experimental group the pre-test average was 76,32 and the post-test average was 85,63, while in the control group the pre-test average was 76,95 and the post-test average was 79,00. Homogeneity and normality test results obtained data homogeneous and normally distributed. Hypothesis I test results obtained sig value. = 0,000 <0,05 so that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the mean pre-test and post-test mean in the experimental group, where there is an increase in the average student's mathematical learning achievement of 9,31. Hypothesis II test results obtained sig value = 0,000 <0,05 so that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a difference in the average mathematical learning achievement in the experimental group with the control group, where the experimental group is higher than the control group. Thus it is concluded that the use of mathematics learning videos that contain local wisdom during lectures through the Zoom application is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difficulties of students in solving mathematical problems related to agriculture in terms of mathematical learning motivation. This study uses qualitative methods, and the main instrument is the researcher himself, while the supporting instruments are questionnaires, tests and interviews. Data collection uses a triangulation process, and data analysis adapts the Milles and Huberman analysis model. The research subjects selected were 1 student who had low mathematical learning motivation (MBMR subject), 1 student who had moderate mathematical learning motivation (MBMS subject), and 1 student who had high mathematical learning motivation (MBMT subject). The results showed that in the step of understanding the problem, the three subjects did not experience any difficulties. In the step of making a problem-solving plan, the three subjects also used the graphical method and both did not experience difficulties. While in the step of carrying out problem solving, each subject finds their own difficulties that are different from each other.

Abstract

This research is of a qualitative type, which aims to find out in depth about what causes it, why it is experienced, and how students experience difficulties in solving frequency distribution problems in statistics courses. This research was conducted at the Catholic University of Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The selection of research subjects used a purposive technique so that 1 KKMR subject, 1 KKMS subject and 1 KKMT subject were selected. The main instrument is the researcher himself while the supporting instruments use tests and interviews. Data collection uses triangulation techniques (test and interview techniques). Data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions or verification. The results showed that KKMR subjects experienced more difficulties than KKMS subjects and KKMT subjects, KKMS subjects experienced more difficulties than KKMT subjects, while KKMT subjects experienced fewer difficulties than KKMR subjects and KKMS subjects. KKMR subject difficulties due to low memory of arithmetic operation rules, low memory of formulas, and low memory of connection rules in math material, and KKMS subject difficulties due to low memory of arithmetic operation rules, and low memory of connection rules in material mathematics, while the difficulty of the KKMT subject was caused by mistakes and low memory of connection rules in mathematics material.
