Abstract

Community Service Activities by the PkM Team on behalf of the Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng institution along with alumni illustrate concern and a sense of humanity towards others. The Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng Institute was present among the victims of natural disasters in Lembata Regency to ease the burden of their suffering. The presence of the PkM team in social and humanitarian activities, namely distributing and delivering aid directly to victims of natural disasters is a picture of humans as social beings. With the strength of coordination and action, the PkM team demonstrated the presence of the academic community of Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng as a missionary institution that provided relief and consolation for the victims.

Abstract

Pelatihan penanganan pascapanen kopi di tingkat petani kopi merupakan suatu upaya strategis yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta keterampilan petani kopi dalam penanganan pascapanen kopi. Pada tahap awal kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM), ditemukan bahwa petani kopi di Kelurahan Nantal Golo Welu belum memiliki pengetahuan yang mendalam tentang penanganan pascapanen kopi serta kendala dalam sistem pemasaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi tahap awal maka solusi yang dilakukan yaitu melaksanakan asesmen lapangan yang berhubungan dengan analisis situasi tingkat petani, mengorganisir petani dan memberi pelatihan penanganan pascapanen kopi. Metode kegiatan yang diberikan meliputi: (1) metode observasi langsung, (2) metode wawancara terstruktur, (3) metode ceramah, simulasi, (4) Metode diskusi terbuka dan juga memberikan modul penanganan pascapanen kopi serta melakukan evaluasi dan monitoring. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan pascapanen kopi secara nyata memberi dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan petani kopi di Kelurahan Nantal Golo Welu yang dapat diketahui dari hasil pre-test 5,35% dan post-test 8,23%. Hasil evaluasi dan monitoring yang dilakukan setelah 1 bulan kegiatan pelatihan, diketahui bahwa petani kopi di Kelurahan Nantal Golo Welu sudah melaksanakan kegiatan pascapanen kopi khususnya pengolahan hilir biji kopi. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pelatihan pascapanen kopi di Kelurahan Nantal GoloWelu yaitu terjai peningkatan pengetahuan daan keterampilan serta adanya komitmen petani kopi didalam kegiatan pascapanen kopi.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan usahatani jahe merah pada lahan sempit dengan memanfaatkan limbah kantong atau zak semen bekas merupakan satu upaya pemanfaatan peluang usahatani dengan meminimalisir dan menekan kerusakan lingkungan akibat limbah kantong atau zak. Pada kegiatan awal Pengapdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM), ditemukan bahwa petani di Desa Bangka Ajang belum memiliki pengetahuan serta ketrampilan dalam kegiatan usahatani jahe merah pada lahan sempit dengan memanfaatkan limbah kantong atau zak semen. Berangkat dari kondisi tersebut, solusi yang telah dilakukan adalah melakukan kegiatan analisis situasi tingkat petani, mengelompokan petani, memberi penyuluhan usahatani jahe merah, demplot, diskusi bersama, evaluasi, dan rencana monitoring. Petani yang belum memahami materi penyuluhan pertanian, akan didampingi secara intensif. Adapun metode kegiatan yang dilakukan, yaitu (1) metode observasi langsung, (2) metode wawancara terstruktur, (3) metode ceramah, demonstrasi, simulasi, (4) Metode diskusi terbuka. Kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian dengan sistem latihan dan kunjungan dikatakan efektif karena para petani mampu menjelaskan kembali materi penyuluhan yang disampaikan dan juga prosedur dalam kegiatan demplot sesuai yang disampaikan oleh narasumber. Dari hasil evaluasi dan monitoring yang dilakukan setelah 1 bulan kegiatan penyuluhan, diketahui bahwa Petani di Desa Bangka Ajang sudah berkomitmen dan melaksanakan kegiatan usahatani budidaya jahe merah pada lahan sempit dengan memanfaatkan limbah kantong atau zak semen.Kata kunci: lahan sempit; limbah kantong semen; usahtani jahe merah ABSTRACTRed ginger farming activity on narrow land by utilizing waste cement bags to exploit farming opportunities by minimizing and suppressing environmental damage due to bag waste. In the initial Community Service activity, it was found that farmers in Bangka Ajang Village did not yet have the knowledge and skills in red ginger farming activities on narrow land by utilizing cement bags. The solution that has been carried out is to conduct farmer-level situation analysis activities, group farmers, provide counseling on red ginger farming, demonstration plots, joint discussions, evaluation, and monitoring plans. Farmers who do not understand agricultural extension materials will be assisted intensively. The methods of activities carried out are (1) direct observation method, (2) structured interview method, (3) lecture method, demonstration, simulation, (4) open discussion method. Agricultural extension activities with a training and visit system are effective because the farmers can explain again the extension material presented and also the procedures in the demonstration plot activities according to what the informants say. From the results of evaluation and monitoring carried out after 1 month of extension activities, it is known that farmers in Bangka Ajang Village have committed and carried out red ginger farming activities on narrow land by utilizing cement bags.

Abstract

Vegetable production is still relatively low in Manggarai Regency. This is a challenge because they have to bring in vegetable products from outside the region. This study identifies vegetable marketing channels and assesses the efficiency of vegetable marketing channels by focusing on tomatoes, beans, mustard greens, and kale, as are often found in the Inpres Market in Ruteng City. The analytical techniques used are marketing margin analysis, farmer acceptance percentage analysis (F's) and marketing efficiency analysis (Ep). Vegetable marketing channels at the Ruteng Inpres Market consist of Farmers - Consumers, Farmers - Retailers - Consumers, Farmers - Middlemen - Retailers - Consumers. Based on the difference (difference) in prices at farmers and prices at consumers, marketing of tomatoes using channel II is more efficient, while marketing of mustard, beans and kale using channel III is more efficient. Marketing of tomatoes, beans and kale using channel II is more efficient when viewed from the large percentage of farmers' income compared to marketing mustard greens. Based on the profit margin percentage, marketing channel II is more profitable for retailers than channel III, because middlemen take a larger percentage of profits than retailers in marketing channel III. Based on the comparison of marketing costs with selling prices, marketing of tomatoes, mustard greens and beans in channel III is more efficient than channel II, except for marketing of kale. Tomato, chickpea and kale farmers are advised to apply marketing channel II. The middleman in marketing channel III needs to reduce the percentage of profit taking so that the retailer is able to get a profit that approximates the profit of the middleman. Farmers and other marketing institutions need to use standard weight measuring devices in marketing their products at the Ruteng Inpres Market.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difficulties of students in solving mathematical problems related to agriculture in terms of mathematical learning motivation. This study uses qualitative methods, and the main instrument is the researcher himself, while the supporting instruments are questionnaires, tests and interviews. Data collection uses a triangulation process, and data analysis adapts the Milles and Huberman analysis model. The research subjects selected were 1 student who had low mathematical learning motivation (MBMR subject), 1 student who had moderate mathematical learning motivation (MBMS subject), and 1 student who had high mathematical learning motivation (MBMT subject). The results showed that in the step of understanding the problem, the three subjects did not experience any difficulties. In the step of making a problem-solving plan, the three subjects also used the graphical method and both did not experience difficulties. While in the step of carrying out problem solving, each subject finds their own difficulties that are different from each other.

Abstract

Abstract: Tofu is one of the daily foods of Indonesian people. The tofu industry itself has been found quite a lot in the Manggarai Regency area, but the remaining tofu dregs are not processed further and are only used as animal feed. Referring to the various studies that have been carried out, it is emphasized that tofu dregs can be processed as raw materials for processed various foods, one of which is tofu dregs crackers. Processing tofu dregs into crackers is one of the innovations made without reducing the nutritional value in tofu dregs. Tofu waste processing activities are carried out in Poco Mal Village, Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency. The methods of implementing the activities implemented are implementation methods, business management, tofu dregs processing techniques, and marketing strategies. Each activity method applied will be evaluated through discussion activities with members and if any obstacles are found, the team will quickly address the existing obstacles. This method becomes an organized processing system with a business management approach. The results of this activity have a positive impact in the form of new innovations in the management of tofu waste into crackers. The innovations provided are in the form of spicy, original, and fried onions. The sales target for tofu dregs crackers will be gradually increased and for this stage, business activities are focused on increasing sales each time it is produced.Kata kunci: pulp; processing; tofu Abstrak: Tahu merupakan salah satu makanan sehari-hari masyarakat Indonesia. Industri tahu sendiri sudah cukup banyak di temui di daerah Kabupaten Manggarai namun sisa ampas tahu tidak diolah lebih lanjut dan hanya dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak. Mengacu dari berbagai penelitian yang sudah dilakukan mempertegaskan bahwa ampas tahu dapat diolah sebagai bahan baku olahan aneka makanan, salah satunya ialah kerupuk ampas tahu. Pengolahan ampas tahu menjadi kerupuk merupakan salah satu inovasi yang dibuat tanpa mengurangi nilai gizi yang ada dalam ampas tahu. Kegiatan pengolahan ampas tahu dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Poco Mal Kecamatan Langke Rembong Kabupaten Manggarai. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yang diterapkan berupa metode pelaksanaan, manajemen usaha, teknik pengolahan ampas tahu, dan strategi pemasaran. Setiap metode kegiatan yang diterapkan akan dievaluasi melalui kegiatan diskusi bersama anggota dan jika ditemukan adanya kendala maka tim secara cepat menyikapi kendala yang ada. Metode ini menjadi suatu sistem pengolahan yang terorganisir dengan pendekatan manajemen usaha. Hasil kegiatan ini memberi dampak positif berupa adanya inovasi baru terhadap pengelolaan limbah ampas tahu menjadi kerupuk. Inovasi yang diberikan berupa pemberian rasa pedas, original,dan bawang goreng. Target penjualan kerupuk ampas tahu akan ditingkatkan secara bertahap dan untuk tahap ini kegiatan usaha difokuskan pada peningkatan penjualan setiap kali produksi.Kata kunci: ampas; pengolahan; tahu

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk usaha tani tanaman hortikultura khususnya tanaman sayur-sayuran di Kelurahan Tenda masih mengalami berbagai kendala karena rendahnya pengetahuan dan tidak ada upaya manajemen lahan pekarangan dari masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kreativitas masyarakat untuk usaha tani tanaman sayursayuran pada lahan pekarangan. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini yaitu Ibu rumah tangga yang ada di Kelurahan Tenda sebanyak 15 orang. Metode kegiatan meliputi studi pendahuluan, penyuluhan, pelatihan teknis, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kreativitas masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang diukur dari nilai pre-test 14,18 dan post-test 42,27. Hasil uji Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs menujukkan nilai signifikansi (p-value) pre-test dan post-test yaitu 0,003 (<0,05). Artinya, adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mitra dalam manajemen lahan pekarangan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode yang diterapkan telah berpengaruh secara nyata dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra khususnya pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk usaha tani tanaman sayuran. Untuk menjaga kelangsungan program ini, maka diharapkan peran pemerintah khususnya penyuluh pertanian lapangan.Abstract: The use of yards for horticultural crops farming, especially vegetables, in Tenda Village is still has various problems due to lack of knowledge and no efforts to manage yards from communities. The purpose of community service is to increase the knowledge, skills and creativity of the community for vegetables farming in their yards. The activity partners were 15 people (housewives) in the Tenda village. The activity methods include preliminary studies, counseling, technical training, monitoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge, skills and creativity of the community in the use of their yards as measured by the pre-test score of 14.18 and the post-test of 42.27. The results of the Wilcoxon Matched-Pairs test showed that pre-test and post-test significance value (p-value) of 0.003 (<0.05). This means that there is an increase in partners' knowledge in yard management. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the method had a significant effect on increasing the knowledge and skills of partners, especially the use of yards for vegetables farming. To maintain the continuity of this program, the role of the government, especially agricultural extension workers, is needed.

Abstract

Abstrak: Farmers in Pau Village mostly use chemical pesticides. Many farmers have not used plant-based pesticides to control pests on the plants they cultivate. This condition is of concern to us to produce plant-disturbing organisms (OPT) on farmers' crops in Ruteng City. The purpose of this activity is to produce vegetable pesticides as environmentally friendly plant pest control. The method used in this activity is the demonstration method, which means directly processing and applying vegetable pesticides on farmers' land. The result of this activity is the product of the vegetable pesticide "Desta" which can be used to control Plant Pest Organisms (OPT) on farmer's land so as to increase the productivity of agricultural products in Pau Village, Langke Rembong District.Keywords: diseases; pesticides; pestsAbstrak: Petani di Kelurahan Pau sebagian besar menggunakan pestisida kimia. Abstract

The development of shallot agribusiness in the highlands, especially in WaeRi'i Village, Manggarai Regency, has not been optimal due to various obstacles such as the lack of farmer’s knowledge, the limited input production, and the lack of shallot agribusiness training. To solve the obstacles, community service is held to improve the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of Women Farmer Group members in the development of shallot agribusiness, in the highlands of WaeRi'i Village. In the early stages, it was found that all group members did not have in-depth knowledge and were still have technical and non-technical constraints in shallot agribusiness development. The implementation method is (1) identifying problems through interviews (2) agricultural extension related to group organizing, risk management, and risk prevention (3) shallot cultivation technical training (4) field assistance (5) agricultural marketing socialization (6) monitoring and evaluation. Community service gives a real positive impact which can be seen through the pre-test result of 6.73% and 16.16% post-test results. The success of the program can also be seen from the results of the monitoring and evaluation so that the general conclusion of shallot agribusiness development in the highlands with the Women Farmer Group has increased from the criteria of not being good to be good enough. Furthermore, it is hoped that there will be efforts to increase group capacity better than before in the future.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to innovate the processing of local foods, addressing the decline of traditional foods due to the rise of foreign fast foods. The study emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional foods, such as Sombu, a corn-based dish from Manggarai Regency, and demonstrates how modernization can help these foods compete in today's market. Method: The research employed a combination of Brainstorming sessions, business management strategies, and techniques for making, processing, and marketing traditional foods. The study involved selecting specific locations and subjects for service to ensure targeted and effective interventions. Practical Applications: The findings highlight the potential for local food innovations to rejuvenate traditional culinary practices, making them competitive with foreign alternatives. This research opens opportunities for young people, especially students, to engage in creative and profitable culinary innovations, thereby sustaining cultural heritage and stimulating economic growth. Conclusion: The study successfully showcased new innovations in local food processing, resulting in modernized traditional foods that can compete with international products. These innovations not only preserve cultural heritage but also motivate the younger generation to contribute to creative and profitable culinary practices.
