ABSTRACT Background: Supervision is a part of the direction function that has a role in maintaining so that all programmed activities can be carried out properly and smoothly. The task of the leader or head of the room is to carry out supervision at the hospital. One of the objectives of supervision is to improve the compliance of implementing nurses as a strategy to achieve quality hospital services. Implementation of supervision is certainly influenced by several factors in its implementation. Methods: The database used in this literature study is PubMED, based on Mendeley.com, and Google Scholar. Results: There are 14 articles identified from 2010-2018. Of the 14 articles, 12 articles met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the factors associated with the supervision of the head of the room with the level of nurse compliance in the hospital is influenced by internal and external factors, internal factors are knowledge, motivation both from the head of the room and nurses while external factors are external support from the organization, system, facilities and infrastructure. Conclusion: The implementation of supervision that runs optimally is certainly influenced by internal and external factors. Therefore, by knowing the factors that influence the implementation of supervision can run optimally, it is necessary for the head of the room and the nurse to increase knowledge and ability, increase motivation.
