Abstract

Penelitian ini menyajikan hasil validasi dan ujicoba terbatas perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri dipadu advance organizer. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4D yang terdiri dari tahap define (Pendefinisian), design (Perancangan), development (Pengembangan), dan disseminate (Penyebaran). Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan terdiri dari silabus, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, dan instrumen tes penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil validasi menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran dalam kategori layak-sangat layak. Hasil uji coba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa respon siswa sebesar 79.95% dan guru sebesar 81.15% adalah praktis dan terbaca.. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri dipadu AO layak, praktis dan terbaca dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa fisika

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of teachers and students to physics learning with a guided inquiry learning model combined with an advanced organizer. This research was conducted in three senior high schools in Mataram. This research is a pre-experimental study. The subjects of this study were 3 physics teachers and 60 students in Mataram. The data obtained in this study are teacher and student’ questionnaire response data. The results of the study showed that both the response of students and the response to learning with guided inquiry learning models combined with advanced organizers included in the excellent category.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is one of the essential competencies that students should develop in physics learning. However, teacher-centered instruction and the limited implementation of laboratory activities have hindered the optimal development of this ability. One alternative to overcome this problem is the implementation of an inquiry learning model assisted by a virtual laboratory. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the inquiry learning model assisted by a virtual laboratory on students' physics problem-solving ability. This study employed an experimental research design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students of MA DI Putri Nurul Hakim Kediri in the 2015/2016 academic year, while the sample was selected using the cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using an expert-validated essay test of problem-solving ability. The data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, followed by a pooled variance t-test. The results showed that the experimental group obtained a higher mean posttest score (73.67) than the control group (58.47). Furthermore, the hypothesis testing revealed that tcalculated = 4.469 was greater than ttable = 2.032 at the 5% significance level, indicating that the inquiry learning model assisted by a virtual laboratory had a significant positive effect on students' physics problem-solving ability. Therefore, this learning model can be considered an effective instructional alternative for improving students' physics problem-solving ability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a guided inquiry learning model combined with advance organizers on enhancing high school students' critical thinking skills in Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM). Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, this quantitative research involved two experimental groups and one control group at senior high schools in Mataram. The experimental groups engaged in guided inquiry learning integrated with concept maps and short videos as advance organizers. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests using a five-item essay instrument validated by experts, then analyzed using normalized gain (N-gain). The findings revealed that the critical thinking skills of both experimental groups increased in the high N-gain category, whereas the control group showed a moderate increase. Among the critical thinking indicators, "providing simple clarification" achieved the highest gain, while sub-topic analysis indicated the greatest improvement in the "restoring force" concept. This study concludes that integrating advance organizers into guided inquiry learning effectively establishes an initial cognitive framework and significantly enhances students' critical thinking skills in physics education.

Abstract

Inquiry learning fosters physics problem-solving skills but often fails when students lack stable initial knowledge. Conversely, the Advance Organizer (AO) model excels at activating cognitive structures and meaningful learning. This synthesising review analyzes the strengths, limitations, and impacts of integrating guided inquiry with AO on high school students' physics problem-solving abilities based on a comprehensive literature review. The results show that the model's primary strength is providing effective kognitive scaffolding, significantly increasing the "focus the problem" indicator. However, the main limitations include structural time-management challenges and high dependency on students' prerequisite mathematics skills, leaving the "describe the problem" and "evaluate solutions" indicators at moderate levels. Digitalizing AO materials and embedding mathematical mini-scaffolding are practical solutions to maximize this integrated approach.
