Abstract

Tomato is a plant of solanaceae family, has short stems, and grows well in tropical climates. Tomatoes have vegetative and generative growth phases. The availability of nutrients largely determines the vegetative growth phase. The purpose of the study is to determine: (1) the effect of vermicompost on tomato growth, (2) the effect of NPK fertilizer treatment on tomato growth, (3) the interaction effect of vermicompost and NPK fertilizer on tomato growth. The research was conducted using experimental methods. The research was carried out from April to July 2021. The research design was a 4 x 5 complete random factorial design with three repetitions. NPK fertilizer consisted of 4 levels of treatment doses, while vermicompost consisted of 5 levels of treatment doses. The research finding shows that the application of NPK fertilizer of 0.8 grams per plant significantly affected stem diameter, the number of compound leaves, leaf length, and stem height of tomatoes. Treatment of vermicompost of 1.8 kg of vermicompost resulted in the best stem diameter, number of compound leaves, leaf length, and stem height. The combination of vermicompost and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on stem diameter, the number of compound leaves, leaf length, and stem height of tomatoes.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mangrove di Teluk Gerupuk, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat pada tanggal 10 Februari – 6 Maret 2014. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan komposisi jenis tumbuhan mangrove. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuadrat secara garis berpetak (metode transek). Area kajian tumbuhan mangrove tingkat pohon ditentukan dengan membuat plot berukuran 10 x 10 m sebanyak 20 plot. Sedangkan untuk pancang dan seedling dilakukan dengan membuat sub plot masing-masing berukuran 5 x 5 m dan 1 x 1 m di dalam area kajian pohon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Teluk Gerupuk terdapat 12 jenis tumbuhan mangrove yang termasuk dalam 9 marga dan 7 suku. Tumbuhan mangrove tersebut mencakup anggota suku Rhizophoraceae (Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops decandra), Sonneratiaceae (Sonneratia alba), Avicenniaceae (Avicennia marina, Avicennia lanata), Myrsinaceae (Aegiceras corniculatum), Myrtaceae (Osbornia octodonta), Combretaceae (Lumnitzera racemosa) dan Meliaceae (Xylocarpus molluccensis).Rhizophora apiculata merupakan jenis yang mendominasi pohon dan pancang di daerah ini dengan nilai penting masing-masing 148,47 dan 116,97. Jumlah pohon keseluruhan 210 batang per hektar dengan basal area 34,05 m . Sedangkan untuk pancang memiliki basal area 2,06 m2 per hektar dan jumlah individu sekitar 620 batang. Untuk seedling, jumlah jenis yang paling banyak ditemukan adalahOsbornia octodontadanCeriops decandra, masing-masing sekitar 16.000 dan 10.000 per hektar. Indeks keanekaragaman jenis mangrove di Teluk Gerupuk tergolong rendah. Di Kawasan hutan mangrove Teluk Gerupuk inisedang dilakukan penanaman jenisRhizophora stylosadanRhizophora mucronatadalam upaya penghijauan.

Abstract

Abstract: Upaya meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman dapat dilakukan dengan aplikasi mulsa dan pupuk organik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh jenis mulsa terhadap pertumbuhan tomat, (2) pengaruh pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan tomat, (3) pengaruh interaksi antar jenis mulsa dan dosis pupuk organik terhadap pertumbuhan tomat. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan rancangan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah 3 jenis mulsa yaitu mulsa plastik hitam perak, mulsa jerami padi dan mulsa daun-daun kering. Faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk organik yang terdiri atas 6 level yaitu: P0 = 0 kg  pupuk organik (kontrol), P1 = pemberian 0,4 kg pupuk organik per 1 m2  lahan, P2 = pemberian 0,8 kg pupuk organik per 1 m2  lahan, P3 = pemberian 1,2 kg pupuk organik per 1 m2  lahan, P4 = pemberian 1,6 kg pupuk organik per 1 m2  lahan, P5 = pemberian 2,0 kg pupuk organik per 1 m2  lahan. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis sidik ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) perbedaan jenis mulsa berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tomat (2) perbedaan dosis pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tomat,  (3) interaksi antara jenis mulsa dan dosis pupuk organik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tomat, (4) mulsa plastik hitam perak memberikan hasil tinggi batang, panjang helaian daun dan lebar helaian daun yang lebih baik dibandingkan jenis mulsa yang lain, (5) dosis optimum pupuk organik untuk tanaman tomat adalah 1,6 kg per 1 m2 lahan pertanian.Kata kunci : mulsa, pupuk organik, pertumbuhan tomatAbstract: Efforts to increase growth and yields can be done with the application of mulch and organic fertilizer. The research objective is to find out: (1) the effect of mulch type on tomato growth, (2) the effect of organic fertilizer on tomato growth, (2) the effect of interaction between types of mulch and the dose of organic fertilizer on tomato growth. This research used 2 factors design. The first factor is 3 types of mulch namely black silver plastic mulch, rice straw mulch and dried leaf mulch. The second factor is the dose of organic fertilizer consisting of 6 levels, namely: P0 = 0 kg of organic fertilizer (control), P1 = giving 0.4 kg of organic fertilizer per 1 m2 of land, P2 = giving 0.8 kg of organic fertilizer per 1 m2 of land, P3 = giving 1.2 kg of organic fertilizer per 1 m2 of land, P4 = giving 1.6 kg of fertilizer organic per 1 m2 of land, P5 = giving 2.0 kg of organic fertilizer per 1 m2 of land. Research data were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results showed that (1) the different types of mulch significantly affected the growth of tomato, (2) the difference in organic fertilizer dosages significantly affected the growth of tomato, (3) the interaction between the types of mulch and the dose of organic fertilizer did not significantly affect the growth of tomato, (4) silver black plastic mulch gives better stem height, leaf length and leaf width than other types of mulch, (5) optimum dose of organic fertilizer for tomato plants is 1.6 kg per 1 m2 of agricultural land.Keywords: mulch, organic fertilizer, tomato growth

Abstract

Increase in traffic density increases air pollution. Air pollution affects plant life physiologically, for the long run it could be morfologically, one of whichs is the stomatal characters. This research aimed to determine the influence of traffic density difference to the stomatal characteristic of Tanjung leaves (Mimusops elengi L.) in Mataram City. Sampling was carried out on 4 designated locations including the Unram Library (control) that has no traffic density, Jl. Dr. Sudjono (Low traffic), Jl. Ahmad Yani and Jl. Majapahit (high traffic). The method used was Post ex Facto, Purposive sampling. The measured parameters included the number of stomata, the number of open and closed stomata, the stomatal index, the stomatal size and the aperture size of the stomata. The research data was analyzed in a qualitative description and in a quantitative description using analysis of Varian (ANOVA). The results showed that the traffic density reduces the number of stamata as well as their size, the number of opended and increased the number of closed stomata, increases stomatal index due to stomatal damage and reduces stomatal aperture in Mataram city. It is concluded that traffic density affects stomatal haracter tanjung plant. Thrence, this finding reveals that stomatal character of tnajnjung plant can be used as air pollution bioindicator.
