Abstract

Mangrove area management that does not pay attention to environmental impacts will lead to degradation vulnerability of habitat and mangrove species. This research was conducted using observation and interview methods. Interviews were conducted by purposive sampling using key informants. Data were analyzed using SWOT to identify management strategies for mangrove areas in Lembar District. The results showed that the management strategy of mangrove areas in Lembar District was in quadrant I or an aggressive strategy. Priority strategies in managing mangrove areas in Lembar District include: (a) Formulate regulations on the conservation and utilization of mangrove areas by involving all community groups, (b) Develop a mangrove data bank in collaboration with academics through education, research and service, (c) Prepare zoning plans for the utilization of the Teluk Lembar coastal area, especially mangrove areas to prevent conflicts over utilization , (d) Develop an ecotourism development plan by considering the carrying capacity, and (e) Implementation of enrichment planting programs and widening of mangrove green lanes to increase the effectiveness of the role of mangroves as bioremediators.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mangrove di Teluk Gerupuk, Kabupaten Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat pada tanggal 10 Februari – 6 Maret 2014. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan komposisi jenis tumbuhan mangrove. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuadrat secara garis berpetak (metode transek). Area kajian tumbuhan mangrove tingkat pohon ditentukan dengan membuat plot berukuran 10 x 10 m sebanyak 20 plot. Sedangkan untuk pancang dan seedling dilakukan dengan membuat sub plot masing-masing berukuran 5 x 5 m dan 1 x 1 m di dalam area kajian pohon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Teluk Gerupuk terdapat 12 jenis tumbuhan mangrove yang termasuk dalam 9 marga dan 7 suku. Tumbuhan mangrove tersebut mencakup anggota suku Rhizophoraceae (Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops decandra), Sonneratiaceae (Sonneratia alba), Avicenniaceae (Avicennia marina, Avicennia lanata), Myrsinaceae (Aegiceras corniculatum), Myrtaceae (Osbornia octodonta), Combretaceae (Lumnitzera racemosa) dan Meliaceae (Xylocarpus molluccensis).Rhizophora apiculata merupakan jenis yang mendominasi pohon dan pancang di daerah ini dengan nilai penting masing-masing 148,47 dan 116,97. Jumlah pohon keseluruhan 210 batang per hektar dengan basal area 34,05 m . Sedangkan untuk pancang memiliki basal area 2,06 m2 per hektar dan jumlah individu sekitar 620 batang. Untuk seedling, jumlah jenis yang paling banyak ditemukan adalahOsbornia octodontadanCeriops decandra, masing-masing sekitar 16.000 dan 10.000 per hektar. Indeks keanekaragaman jenis mangrove di Teluk Gerupuk tergolong rendah. Di Kawasan hutan mangrove Teluk Gerupuk inisedang dilakukan penanaman jenisRhizophora stylosadanRhizophora mucronatadalam upaya penghijauan.

Abstract

Wood is one of the forest products needed by humans for various uses, including as construction material, crafts, furniture and so on. The solution to save the use of wood by extending the life of the wood through the wood preservation process. The wood used in this study used Bayur wood (Pterospermum javanicum Jungh.). Bayur wood is a typical type of wood from the tropics belonging to durable class IV (easy to rot) which is wood that is easily attacked by wood-destroying organisms such as subterranean termites. Bayur wood grows and develops in secondary forest, with an altitude below 1,000 mdpl (Salmayanti et al., 2013). The aim of this research is:.(1) To determine the effect of immersion time on the value of absorption, retention and penetration of bayur wood preservation. (2) To determine the effect of the concentration of neem leaf extract preservative on the absorption, retention and penetration values ​​of bayur wood preservation. (3) To determine the interaction effect of immersion time and concentration of neem leaf extract preservative on the absorption, retention and penetration values ​​of bayur wood preservation. The results of this study indicate the conclusions that can be drawn as follows: (1) The immersion time has no effect on the value of absorption, theoretical retention, actual retention, and penetration of bayur wood immersion using neem leaf extract. (2) The concentration of preservatives has no effect on the value of absorption, theoretical retention, actual retention, and penetration. (3) The interaction between the length of immersion time and the concentration of preservatives did not affect the value of absorption, theoretical retention, actual retention, and penetration.

Abstract

Iklim mikro dan tingkat kenyamanan menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam sektor pariwisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis iklim mikro dan tingkat kenyamanan termal pada kawasan ekowisata mangrove Tanjung Batu Kabupaten Lombok Barat.  Data iklim mikro yang diambil meliputi suhu udara, kelembaban udara dan kecepatan angin.  Data iklim mikro dirata-rata secara harian, sedangkan data suhu udara dan kelembaban rata-rata digunakan untuk analisis kenyamanan termal dengan metode Temperature Humidity Index (THI).  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, suhu rata-rata harian berkisar antara 25,29 º C – 26,66 º C, kelembaban rata-rata harian berkisar antara 72,75% - 79,96% dan kecepatan angin rata-rata harian berkisar antara 0,81 km/jam – 4,90 km/jam.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis THI, nilai kenyamanan termal rata-rata di kawasan ekowisata mangrove Tanjung Batu yaitu 24,71 dengan klasifikasi nyaman.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the feasibility of Semongkat Natural Tourism Park as an object and natural tourist attraction and menemukenali natural tourism park management strategy semongkat. This research uses quantitative and qualitative methods. Population in this study is divided into several groups, namely the semongkat natural tourism park management group, the semongkat hamlet community group and the semongkat natural tourism park visitor group. Determination of respondents for semongkat natural tourism park managers using purposive sampling methods. After the respondent is considered to understand then the determination of respondents in this study is based on snowball sampling techniques which is one form of judgment sampling. Data collection techniques use literature studies, interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The data analysis used in this study is the Guidelines for Analysis of The Area of Operations and Natural Attractions (ADO-ODTWA) of the Director General of PHKA 2003 and SWOT analysis. From the analysis of the data, it shows that Semongkat Natural Tourism Park deserves to be developed with a feasibility presentation of 76.11% can be done using the SO (Strenght-Opportunity) strategy, namely developing tourist attractions and all tourism potential contained in semongkat natural tourism parks.

Abstract

Different characteristics of mangrove habitat will have different water conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of mangrove habitat waters at different mangrove densities in Eyat Mayang Village, Lombok Barat Regency. Observation of mangrove density and characteristics of the waters was carried out in each sample plot using the grid line method. The tree parameters observed included the type and number of trees in the 84 sample plots. Parameters of mangrove habitat waters observed included temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) and mud thickness. Mangrove density is divided into 3 criteria based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 201 of 2004. Furthermore, statistical analysis was carried out to assess differences in water characteristics at 3 mangrove densities using one-way analysis of variance with a level of 5% (significance 0.05) with SigmaPlot 11.0 software. The results showed that the sparse, medium and dense densities had an average temperature range of 29 ºC, a pH value of 6.8 – 7, a salinity in the range of 35‰, DO 4.8 – 5 mg/l and a mud thickness of 72 – 91 cm . The mangrove area of Eyat Mayang Village has 77.1% sparse tree density, 20% medium tree density and 2.9% dense tree density. The results of statistical analysis using the ANOVA test showed that there were no significant differences in the parameters of temperature, salinity, pH, DO and mud thickness at 3 different density of mangrove trees.

Abstract

Biopellets are one of the alternative energies from biomass. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical properties and quality of biopellets from the combination of hazelnut shell raw materials and teak sawdust. The highest density was obtained in A4B4 treatment of 0.42 gr/cm3 and the lowest in A5B5 treatment of 0.26 gr/cm3. The highest water content of A3B3 treatment was 0.23% and the lowest in A1B1 treatment was 0.13%. The highest ash content of A1B1 treatment was 12.98% and the lowest was A4B4 treatment 5.28%.The highest level of flying substance A2B2 treatment was 32.73% and the lowest A4B4 treatment was 27.99%. The highest bound carbon in A4B4 treatment was 66.59% and the lowest in A1B1 treatment was 55.50%. The highest calorific value of A2B2 treatment is 17.85 MJ/Kg and the lowest is A1B1 treatment 17.21 MJ/Kg.Keywords: biopellet, candlenut shell, physical properties, quality, teak wood powderAbstrakBiopellet merupakan salah satu energi alternatif dari biomassa. Abstract

Pendataan kondisi biofisik ekosistem mangrove merupakan langkah awal dalam pengelolaan kawasan mangrove yang meliputi data struktur dan komposisi ekosistem mangrove serta potensi serapan karbon.  Data potensi serapan karbon di kawasan ekosistem mangrove Desa Eyat Mayang belum terindentifikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis potensi serapan karbon di kawasan ekosistem mangrove Desa Eyat Mayang.  Pengumpulan data  menggunakan metode jalur berpetak sebanyak 84 plot. Data dianalisis menggunakan persamaan allometrik.  Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa kawasan ekosistem mangrove di Desa Eyat Mayang memiliki potensi biomassa 86,27 ton/ha yang terdiri dari 84% biomassa atas (AGB) dan 16% biomassa bawah permukaan (BGB).  Potensi kandungan karbon mangrove di Desa Eyat Mayang sebesar 40,13 ton/ha dan potensi serapan karbon (CO2) sebesar 147,3 ton/ha.  Kontribusi terbesar biomassa, kandungan karbon dan serapan karbon berasal dari jenis Rhizophora apiculata.

Abstract

Pariwisata merupakan sektor industri yang menjadi penyumbang devisa negara tertinggi dan berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan negara serta menciptakan lapangan kerja. Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat telah ditetapkan sebagai “gerbang pariwisata nasional”, menjadikan pariwisata sebagai sektor unggulan untuk mendorong pertumbuhan perekonomian daerah dan kota. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan destinasi wisata alam baru harus segera dilaksanakan agar program “Visit Wonderful NTB 2025” sukses dan menjadi destinasi andalan Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat untuk destinasi pariwisata dunia. Mengenali potensi dan mengenang sumber daya alam yang dimiliki oleh Desa Montong Ajan merupakan hal yang cukup menarik. Namun dalam proses pembangunannya banyak permasalahan yang terjadi yaitu rendahnya jumlah kunjungan wisatawan dan kurangnya fasilitas yang ada. Desa Montong Ajan merupakan desa pemekaran yang baru dibuka pada tahun 2011, kemudian belum adanya penunjuk arah atau rambu menuju tempat wisata, kurangnya aksesibilitas, dan kurangnya jaringan untuk dapat mempromosikan tempat wisata, masyarakat masih belum memahami caranya untuk mengembangkan potensi wisata alam dan Kurangnya partisipasi masyarakat dalam mengembangkan tempat wisata di Desa Montong Ajan yang mempunyai potensi yang cukup menarik, seharusnya wisata ini mampu meningkatkan pendapatan perekonomian masyarakat mulai dari tiket masuk kawasan, akomodasi, pedagang kuliner, dll. Metodeyang digunakan dalam penleitian ini adalah kualitatif dan deskriptif data yang dikumpulkan berupa data studi literatur, observasi, angket, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis yang pada paenelitian ini terdiri dari dua analisis, yaitu 1.) Analisis Kelayakan dengan menggunakan Pedoman PHKA Tahun 2003 Analisis Daerah Operasi Objek dan Daya Tarik Wisata Alam (AD OODTWA) untuk melihat kesesuaian wisata dan berbagai kegiatan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Wisata Alam Bukit Ale-Ale layak untuk dikembangkan dengan beberapa aspek yagn perlu ditambahkan.
