Abstract

Maternal and child health is the third SDG target, which is to ensure a healthy life and promote welfare for all people of all ages. The class of pregnant women is part of the Maternal and Child Health Program that has been implemented since 2009. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the class of pregnant women on the knowledge and attitudes of early detection of high risk factors in the Lalowaru Health Center, Konawe Selatan Regency. The method in this study used a quasi-experimental. The treatment group was given intervention in the form of education using a pocket book for 6 months (starting from the second trimester of pregnancy to the third trimester of pregnancy). The control group did not receive education and pocket books. The research sample consisted of 40 respondents consisting of the intervention group of 20 people and the control group of 20 people. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed test. The results showed that education increased the knowledge of pregnant women about early detection of pregnancy (mean posttest in the intervention group: 92.69 ± 0.96 (p-value = 0.000)). Education improves the attitudes of pregnant women about early detection of pregnancy (mean posttest intervention: 96.36 ± 0.84 (p-value = 0.000)). Education increases ANC visits for pregnant women about early detection of pregnancy.

Abstract

Nutritional status becomes very important considering the critical period of growth in the first 2 years is a period for the growth and development of a child. Malnutrition in children is a major public health problem in developing countries, including Indonesia. One of the nutritional deficiencies in children is stunting. The stunting rate in Southeast Sulawesi Province in 2021 was around 30,2%. One of the causes of stunting is the lack of understanding of parents on nutritional intake during pregnancy and the fulfillment of nutrition in infants. Posyandu cadres as one of the closest people to the community have an important role in providing information. However, the provision of health information that really needs to be supported by empowerment or training for posyandu cadres. Based on initial survey data, training for Posyandu cadres in the Soropia Health Center working area regarding stunting had never been carried out. The purpose of the activity is to increase the knowledge of cadres about stunting. The activity involved the coordinating midwife at the Soropia Health Center and the cadres of the Posyandu in Soropia District, which was 20 people as the target of coaching. The results of the service show that the average knowledge pre-test score is 60.00 and the knowledge post-test average value is 90.00. The results of the work can be obtained by increasing the knowledge of cadres. Therefore, it is hoped that training activities for posyandu cadres can be carried out every year so that cadres can educate mothers and their families so that they can detect early if there is stunting.

Abstract

Potensi penggunaan pangan lokal seperti daun kelor, daun katuk, pepaya muda, dan jantung pisang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai booster ASI oleh ibu menyusui. Edukasi tentang pemanfaatan bahan makanan lokal sebagai booster ASI diperlukan agar para ibu menyusui dan keluarga dapat mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang diperoleh untuk meningkatkan produksi ASI. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu menyusui dan keluarga tentang pemanfaatan bahan pangan lokal sebagai booster ASI. Metode yang digunakan yaitu ceramah tanya jawab dengan memberikan modul. Lokasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di Desa Telaga Biru Kecamatan Soropia Kabupaten Konawe Sulawesi Tenggara. Hasil pre-postest menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dari rerata skor pengetahuan 68,5 menjadi 89 setelah diberikan edukasi. Melalui pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan ibu dapat memaksimalkan konsumsi bahan pangan lokal yang dapat meningkatkan produksi ASI sehingga ibu berhasil menyusui.

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia berkomitmen mendukung gerakan 1000 HPK sebagaimana yang tertuang dalam Peraturan Presiden mengenai Gerakan Nasional Percepatan Perbaikan Gizi melalui pemberian ASI eksklusif. Namun terkadang dalam masa menyusui sering muncul masalah-masalah yang mengakibatkan bayi tidak mendapat ASI Ekslusif. Agar ibu-ibu berhasil menyusui diperlukan bantuan moril berupa dukungan dari keluarga, kader dan tenaga kesehatan. Salahsatunya dengan melibatkan suami dan keluarga dalam pemberian ASI melalui pelaksanaan pijat oksitisin. Pijat oksitosin dapat mempengaruhi kelancaran produksi ASI sehingga sangat berpengaruh dalam pemberian ASI dalam 6 bulan pertama. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peran keluarga dan kader dalam pelaksanaan pijat oksitosin dan penanganan masalah menyusui di Desa Atowatu Kecamatan Soropia. Sasarannya kegiatan adalah ibu hami, menyusui, ibu - ibu yang memiliki bayi 0-24 bulan , Kader Posyandu, Suami dan keluarga ibu di Desa Atowatu. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pemberian pre-test, ceramah, demonstrasi dan tanya jawab serta post-test. Hasil analisis dari data kuesioner diperoleh informasi bahwa nilai terendah saat pre test adalah 2. Dan nilai tertinggi saat pretest adalah 10. Rata-rata nilai skor saat pretest adalah 7,2. Setelah dilakukan intervensi diperoleh nilai terendah adalah 7 dan nilai tertinggi adalah 10. Rata-rata skor saat post test adalah 9,1. Pemberian komunikasi, informasi dan edukasi (KIE) mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam melakukan pijat oksiotosin dan mengetahui masalah-masalah dalam menyusui dan cara penanganannya.

Abstract

Factors that affect the success of breastfeeding are the intentions for breastfeeding and the self-efficacy of the mother. Mothers with high breastfeeding intentions and self-efficacy are more likely to exclusively breastfeed in one week and four months after delivery than those with low self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the effect of lactation education on the self-efficacy of breastfeeding mothers. The study design was the quasi-experiment, pre-test, and post-test with a control group design. Samples of mothers (gestational age ≥28-32 weeks) were divided into 3 groups: 1) those who received lactation and modification modules (n = 21), 2) a group that only received modification modules (n = 21), and 3) a group that only received the maternal and child health books (n = 20). Data were collected using questionnaires, self-efficacy measurements were performed before lactation education was performed, and after 6 months of age. The result showed   at initial measurement results (t0), the median self-efficacy score of respondents was between 60-79, while the median self-efficacy score of the mother at the final measurement (t1) was between 60-88. The highest score increase occurred in group 1, then group 3. The median test result showed there was a difference in self-efficacy between the three groups (p= 0,002). This finding means that lactation education with modification modules may increasing self-efficacy of breastfeeding mothers.  This can be seen in group 1 which has the highest self-efficacy score and also has the highest percentage of exclusive breastfeeding percentage of all groups. Lactation education improves the self-efficacy of the mother and also increases the duration of exclusive breastfeeding. Future research can measure the mother's self-efficacy for the duration of breastfeeding.
