Abstract

The 4.0 Industrial Revolution era that is currently being faced is based on digitalization, so that new literacy and disasters are needed in facing this era. The 2013 curriculum is one of the government’s efforts to accept this 4.0 revolution. The purpose of the 2013 curriculum is to increase student competence. Based on preliminary research that integration of literacy in learning were still low. Solution of this problem is to develop physics learning material that contain new literacy and disasters. The method that used in this research was Research and Development (R&D). The object of research was physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster. The data collection instruments used were preliminary research, validity dan practicality test questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis. The preliminary research instrument based on observation, book analysis, and analysis test literacy student. The average of value observation that integration literacy in learning  was still low with value 34.72, the result of analysis in five physics book was still enough with average value 41.47, the result of literacy test was still low with average value 40.00. The validity instrument of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster consists of four components, namely the feasibility of content, presentation, linguistics, and graphic. Validity of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster was very good with average value 86.27. The practicality instrument consists of four components, namely the easy to use, interesting, clarity, and benefits. Practicality of physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster according to teacher was very good with average value 83,65 and according to student was good with average value 79.52. Physics learning material on fluid material to increase new literacy and disaster for class XI is valid and practical.

Abstract

The 21st century is known as the knowledge era. This era challenges students have various abilities. The government has answered this challenge by improving the quality of education through revising the 2006 curriculum become the 2013 curriculum. In the 2013 curriculum was applied integrated science teaching to improve competence of students. Another government effort was to encourage the school literacy program. But the real condition of the schools showed that knowledge aspect of students was still quite sufficient. One solution to solve this problem was to apply of integrated science worksheet by integrating the scientific literacy in teaching. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of the application of science student worksheet on the theme of the use of pressure by integrating scientific literacy on the competencies of grade VIII students in SMPN 31 Padang. The type of research which used was a quasi-experimental design with group Randomized Posttest-Only Control Grup Design. The sampling technique which used was purposive sampling and cluster random sampling. The population of this research was all grade VIII students of SMPN 31 Padang. The sample class consists of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Class VIII.3 was used as the experimental class and class VIII.4 was used as the control class. The instruments which used in the data collection were written test sheet for knowledge aspect, observation sheet for attitude aspect, and performance assessment sheet for the skills aspect of competencies. The research data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and a comparison of two means test. The result of hypothesis testing indicated that there was a significant difference between the competencies of students who use integrated science student worksheet with students didn’t use it. The result of this test indicated that integrated science worksheet has a significant effect on competencies of students, including aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes on grade VIII in SMPN 31 Padang with 95% confidence level. Therefore, integrated science worksheet by integrating scientific literacy can be implemented for science teachers and students in science teaching.

Abstract

Science Process Skills (KPS) are skills that facilitate learners discover facts, determine concepts and apply theories in everyday life. In fact in the KPS implementation class is still low. In addition to the low implementation of KPS, the textbooks used by high schools in West Sumatra have not yet known the value of KPS. The solution to this problem is knowing which books have high KPS that will be used in the teaching and learning process.This study aims to determine the value of KPS in Physics textbooks used by high schools in West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The study population is all physics textbooks for Class X Semester 2 used in West Sumatra. The research sample is the four most books used in West Sumatra High School. The research instrument used has a high validity value. This research instrument uses 10 PPP components which are broken down into 37 PPP indicators.The results obtained that the book used in the classroom as a source of learning for students has 1 sample of books whose KPS scores are in the "Good" category. The other three sample books have KPS values in the "Fair" category. Physics textbooks that have the highest KPS values to books with low KPS grades in sequence according to the book coding are BTP3, BTP4, BTP2 and BTP1 books.

Abstract

The 21st century skills in the 4.0 revolution era demanded that students have new literacy and disaster literacy abilities. The solution to overcome these problems is to develop physics teaching materials that integrate new literacy and disasters. The purpose of this study is validity and practicality of the use of teaching materials integrating new literacy and disaster. Step of Research & Development (R&D) conducted until the product limited trial for the students in XI Senior High School. The data obtained in this study are the validation of the physics lecturer at the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNP and the practicality of student in XI grade SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. The instruments used are validation and practicality test sheets. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of validity and practicality analysis. The results of the study showed that validity of teaching materials integrating new literacy and disaster very well with a value of 86. 17. The second result shows that teaching material has an excellent practicality of 88. 96. So, it can be concluded that the physics teaching material is heat material and kinetic theory of gas integrating new literacy and diseaster is valid and practical use for students of class XI Senior High School.

Abstract

Human resources are required to have broad insights, think critically, and have literacy to deal with the development of 21st century education. The 2013 curriculum is designed to challenge 21st century education and is taught so that the mindset with mastery of student literacy increases. Literacy activities must be integrated in learning physics in the 2013 curriculum. However, the challenge in schools is that integration of student literacy was not good. One solution to solve this problem is to develop a new Literacy Physics worksheet. The purpose of this research was to determine the validity and practicality of the use of Physics Worksheet with new literacy. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D). The object of this research was the Physics Worksheet with new literacy. Data sources from this study were the results of preliminary studies, the results of the validation assessment, and the results of the practicality assessment. Data collection instruments in this result were observation sheets, validity test sheets, and practicality test sheets. The data analysis technique used is document analysis for preliminary studies and descriptive statistical analysis for product validation and clarity. Based on data analysis three research results can be presented. First, the preliminary study consisted of observations regarding the application of new literacy that were done in a low grade with an average value of 38.045, the results of the initial knowledge test of students at SMAN 5 Padang were low with an average value of 39.29 and the results of the work analysis in three mathematics textbooks Class XI high school students are classified as low with an average value of 32.78. Second, validity of Physics worksheet is very good with  average value 81.15. Third, practicality of Physics worksheets literacy of new according to teachers and students respectively is very good with average value of 85.5 and 86.79 respectively. Physics worksheet filled with new literacy for class XI high school students is valid and practical
