Abstract

This study aims to identify a strategy for developing Character Value-Integrated Causal Model Student Worksheet to improve creative thinking skills and change the character of junior high school students. Character value-integrated causal model is a learning model that is used to develop students' potential in identifying and describing the causes and effects of a phenomenon or problem in everyday life related to the student's character. The research type is Research and Development with 4-D model encompassing define, design, develop, and disseminate. The result of this research is a design of a character value-integrated causal model Physics worksheet for business and simple machines materials for the 8th grade junior high school level. The strategy for developing a worksheet with character value-integrated causal model contains several unique characteristics, including: describing phenomena that contain several cause-effect elements, providing phenomena that are related to problems about character in everyday life to be identified, having a causality table, providing space for explanations, loading moral messages related to problems about character, using concise, clear, easily understood language, and using supporting images that are related to the phenomena described

Abstract

This development research aims to produce an effective video-assisted problem-based physics learning tool to improve students' problem-solving skills on elasticity material. The research design used is a 4D model consisting of defining, designing, develop and disseminating. The products developed are syllabus, Lesson Plans, Student Worksheets, videos, and problem-solving ability questions. Data collection techniques using validation sheets and problem-solving ability questions. Product validity was assessed by six validators consisting of three expert validators and three practitioner validators. Furthermore, the effectiveness was obtained from a limited trial by providing problem-solving skills questions in the form of pretest and posttest which then the results were analyzed using N-Gain. The results showed that problem-solving abilities had increased with the average N-Gain test result being 0.61 in the medium category. Students show a positive response to online learning. So, it can be concluded that video-assisted problem-based physics learning tools are effective for improving students' problem-solving skills on elasticity materials during online learning

Abstract

Training on optimizing the use of Science Kits for teachers of SD Negeri 1 Cakranegara has been carried out offline. This training activity aims to train and improve understanding and knowledge using the Science Kit in the learning process so as to improve mastery of science concepts. The methods used are lecture, simulation, and mentoring methods, and at the end of the activity an evaluation is carried out. The expected outcome is that teachers can use the Science Kit in the learning process in the classroom. The results of the activity show that this training activity can increase the knowledge of teachers in assembling and skills using the Elementary Science Kit, so that it has implications for increasing mastery of the concept of science through experiments

Abstract

This study aims to produce problem-based physics learning tools with the help of videos that practically improve the problem solving abilities of students. The research design used is a 4D model consisting of define, design, develop and disseminate. The learning tools developed are syllabus, lesson plan, student worksheets, videos, and problem solving ability questions. The finished learning tools were then tested in a limited way in class XI MIPA 7 SMAN 1 Mataram to find out the practicality of these devices. The results showed that the device, on average, received a positive response from students and teachers. This can be seen from the responses "agree" and "strongly agree" for each component of the questionnaire given by students and teachers. Based on these data, it can be concluded that problem-based physics learning tools with the help of videos, practically improve the problem-solving abilities of students

Abstract

NTB Province is one of the areas prone to natural disasters. In 2018 there was an earthquake that destroyed infrastructure and the safety of human life. The number of casualties due to the earthquake, one of which is the lack of public knowledge about disasters. Through counseling, the increase in knowledge and capacity to reduce disaster risk in science master students at the University of Mataram. It is hoped that students as intellectual agents in the community can continue or inform their environment. Data collection methods: before and after counseling, students were given a questionnaire via google form sent via WA regarding a) disaster knowledge, b) disaster risk reduction capacity and c) disaster mitigation measures. The discussion is more devoted to earthquake disasters. Outreach was held on November 5, 2020 virtually via zoom meeting. The number of participants who took part was 45 people, consisting of 16 male students and 29 female students. The results show that it is not satisfactory, because the percentage increase in knowledge at the high level is still smaller than the percentage level at the lower level. Therefore, it is suggested that education about disaster risk capacity still needs to be disseminated.

Abstract

Natural disaster mitigation learning is inclusive education in elementary school. There for, this aims to express the responses and opinions of teachers about the implementation of the disaster mitigation learning model and to improve the ability of teachers in elementary schools. The study was conducted on three schools consist elementary schools in Mataram, Ampenan, and Sembalun in Lombok Island-West Nusa Tenggara-Indonesia. The method of research begins with a presentation of a learning model for natural disaster mitigation such as peer teaching by the research team. After that discussion with moderation technique regarding disaster mitigation learning structure applied in the previous presentation. The results of the study obtained 5 main ideas of strategies about the implementation of the natural disaster mitigation learning model, namely that 1) students must be conditioned to natural disasters in the learning process, 2) teachers must have the correct steps in providing the understanding of natural disasters and in conducting direct demonstrations so that students thoroughly understand, 3) teachers must have knowledge of earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, floods, hurricanes and volcanoes, 4) teachers provide examples of disaster mitigation learning to students using tools such as videos, disaster mitigation tools, etc, 5) understanding risk, vulnerability, threat and capability of natural disaster. In general conclusion, teachers have to ability to use technology pedagogical and content knowledge strategies for natural disaster mitigation learning.
