Abstract

The setup process at the time of brand change (Brand Changeover) that often occurs in machines has an impact on small performance values ​​and the potential for delays in the distribution schedule so that in these conditions stock outs occur in the market and cannot meet consumer needs according to the schedule that has been set. So that it is necessary to pay attention and observe the brand transfer activities on the maker and packer machines so that these activities are more efficient. From the results of the analysis, it is known that the brand change process that occurs in the SPM area takes a long time. With the process of separating external and internal activities with the SMED method, and paralleling internal activities in a process, it is expected to be able to improve production performance. The average time required for the protos machine to make a brand change is 85,078 minutes and the Focke engine is 179,105 minutes. The SMED method and separating external and internal activities can reduce 27.834% Brand Change time for Protos machines and 42.243% Brand Change time for Focke machines. From the implementation of this method for 7 weeks, it can be seen that the reduction in Brand change time can increase the machine's Link Up uptime performance by 6.48%.

Abstract

Layout is one of the most important things in a company in designing the needs and facilities that support a business and production process. The purpose of this study was to make a facility layout plan for the trolley assembly practicum at the Production and Manufacturing Systems Laboratory, Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang. The method used in this study uses the blocplan algorithm analysis method. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, making part drawings and operation process charts are used to obtain an accurate and unambiguous description of the geometric features of a component and obtain an overview of the plant layout requirements obtained based on the needs of raw materials, machines, and the efficiency of each operating process and examination, while activity relationship chart analysis, blocplan algorithm analysis and area allocation diagram analysis were used to determine a detailed description or layout template for factory facilities in the hope of optimizing productivity and reducing company losses.

Abstract

The company pays full attention to product quality. Electronic companies that produce set-top box (STB) products, carry out their business activities implementing a production quality control system, but in reality there is still poor product quality, for this reason the research aims to reduce existing injection part production defects using the six sigma method. There are 5 (five) types of problems as CTQ (critical to quality) that must be improved so that the problem of injection part defects in set-top boxes (STB) can decrease by 50% or 350 ppm (4.89σ) company target. The sigma level of defective injection part products from January to December 2022 is 4.69σ. Analysis and Improvement of all factors causing the occurrence of defective injection part products. The results can make the number of Injection part defects from January to June 2023 reduced to 1,078 units from the total STB production of 3,645,241 units. After the calculation, it is known that the sigma level of defect injection products after improvement is 4.93σ. The improvement sigma level has passed the sigma level target of 4.89σ set by the company. This proves that the improvement has been successful and has an impact on part defect injection Keywords: six sigma; DMAIC; quality improvement; defects; injection part Abstrak Perusahaan memberikan perhatian penuh terhadap kualitas produk. Perusahaan elektronik yang memproduksi produk set-top box (STB), menjalankan kegiatan usahanya menerapkan sistem pengendalian kualitas produksi, namun kenyataannya masih ditemukan kualitas produk yang kurang baik, untuk itu penelitian bertujuan mengurangi cacat produksi injection part yang ada menggunakan metode six sigma. Ditemukan ada 5 (lima) jenis masalah sebagai CTQ (critical to quality) yang harus perbaikan agar masalah defect injection part pada set-top box (STB) dapat turun 50% atau 350 ppm (4,89σ) target perusahaan. Tingkat sigma produk defect injection part dari bulan Januari hingga Desember 2022 adalah 4,69σ. Analisis dan Perbaikan terhadap seluruh faktor penyebab terjadinya produk defect injection part. Hasilnya dapat membuat jumlah defect Injection part dari bulan Januari sampai dengan Juni 2023 berkurang menjadi 1.078 unit dari total produksi STB sebesar 3.645.241 unit. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan diketahui bahwa level sigma produk defect injection setelah dilakukan perbaikan adalah 4.93σ. Level sigma improvement tersebut telah melewati target level sigma 4.89σ yang telah ditetapkan oleh perusahaan. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa improvement telah berhasil dan membawa dampak pada part defect injection. Kata Kunci: enam sigma; DMAIC; peningkatan kualitas; cacat; bagian injeksi

Abstract

Cassava shredding machine has become an integral part of the modern food industry, facilitating the process of grating cassava quickly and efficiently. In this context, this study describes the design of a cassava grater machine that adopts a 220 V electric motor voltage as the main power source. In the design of this machine, the electric motor voltage of 220 V was selected with careful consideration of efficiency and performance. This report describes the main components of the machine, including the electric motor, special grater blades, frame and safety mechanism. Also described is the process of grating cassava which occurs through the rotation of an electric motor, giving smooth and consistent grating results. The advantages of using a 220 V electric motor voltage are revealed in this article, focusing on greater power and power stability. In the context of the food industry, these machines have the potential to increase the productivity and quality of the final product. This research contributes to further understanding of the utilization of 220 V electric motor voltage in the design of a cassava grater machine. Its potential implications in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the grating process and its impact in the food industry make this research relevant and valuable in the development of future food technolog
