Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to utilize solid waste from a pineapple juice processing factory Lipisari in Subang as compost raw material. Another objective was to create an efficient composting unit facility. The composting process was carried out in a rotary drum composting unit made from wood. The frame was made from iron St 37. The composting facility had cylindrical shape with a length of 1.958 m, diameter of 1.198 m. I had a capacity of 2 m3 or 600 kg. It was equipped with an agitator and a blower of 14 inch diameter, 150 watt and 220 volt capacity. It was rotated by a 2 HP electrical motor. The composting process was accelerated by the application of EM4 activator. Results of this research showed that the composting process occurred within 7 days. The compost quality meets the Indonesian National Standard, SNI No. 19-7-30-2004.

Abstract

In order to utilize pineapple waste, compost production is one of the alternatives. The compost can be used as soil conditioner. The compost was made in a plastic drum of 50 L capacity. Various activators were applied to speed up the composting process this experiment. The activators used were Green Phosko bioaktifator, EM4 and Agrisimba. Each treatment was performed three times. Results of this experiment showed that utilization of these activators had no significant influence to temperature, time of composting process and the product quality. Quality of the compost produced by using EM4 and Agrisimba activators met the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for pH, moisture content, C-organic, total nitrogen, C/N ratio values, and P2O5, K2O, CaO, Fe, Mn, Zn concentrations. However, the compost produced by Green Phosko Bioactivator treatment did not meet the SNI for pH value, and MgO and Al concentrations.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisa kualitas bahan bakar biogas yang berasal dari kotoran burung puyuh melalui proses pemurnian biogas yang menggunakan metode adsorbsi tiga lapis. Bahan yang digunakan untuk penyerapan adalah silika gel sebesar 2000 gram - 2058 gram,  serutan besi sebesar 736 gram - 1092 gram dan zeolit sebesar 1946,8 gram - 1991 gram. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan gas metana (CH4) sebesar 10,93 -25,38%, penurunan dalam CO2 sebesar 39,69 - 52,18%, penurunan H2S 100% dan efektivitas penyerapan air sebesar 27,35 - 50,35 gram biogas H2O / m3, peningkatan nilai kalori 8,76 - 11,12 kkal / m3.
