Abstract

Based on this study, it was revealed that the combination of alum, peat, and lime could neutralise pH and remove color, turbidity, and organic content. Optimum removal was achieved with alum, peat soil, and lime content of 40 gr/l; 40 gr/l, and 20 gr/l, consecutively. The pH changed from 7,06 to 7,86 , while the removal of color, turbidity, and organic content was 97,5 % (from 500 TCU to 12,5 TCU), 98,5 % (from 119,66 TCU to 1,8 TCU), and 90 % (from 476,55 TCU to 47,48 TCU).

Purwono1)Karbito1) 1) Jurusan Kesehatan Lingkungan Poltekkes Kemenkes Tanjungkarang ABSTRAKAbstrak : pengolahan air sumur gali Menggunakan saringan pasir bertekanan (presure sand filter) untuk menurunkan kadar besi (fe) dan mangan (mn). Air tanah seperti air sumur gali merupakan sumber air bersih terbesar yang digunakan. Permasalahan yang dijumpai, kualitas air tanah maupun air sungai kurang memenuhi syarat sebagai air bersih seperti adanya  Zat Besi (Fe) dan Mangan (Mn). Fe dan Mn dalam air menyebabkan warna air berubah menjadi kuning-coklat setelah kontak dengan udara. Disamping dapat mengganggu kesehatan, menimbulkan bau yang kurang enak serta menyebabkan warna kuning pada dinding bak serta bercak-bercak kuning pada pakaian.  Untuk itu  dilakukan penelitian pengolahan air sumur gali menggunakan saringan pasir bertekanan (pressure sand filter) dalam menurunkan kadar Fe, Mn, Kekeruhan dan Mikrobiologi (coliform) pada air sumur gali di Desa Banjar Negoro Kecamatan Wonosobo Kabupaten Tanggamus. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah air sumur gali salah satu rumah penduduk di Desa Banjar Negoro Kecamatan Wonosobo Kabupaten Tanggamus. Sampel diambil dengan pendekatan grab sampel. Sampel air baku yang digunakan untuk pengolahan diambil dari satu sumur gali penduduk,sedangkan sampel air baku dan sampel air hasil olahan diambil satu titik di bak penampungan sebelum diolah dan satu titik di kran outlet saringan. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan :1) Kadar Fe mengalami penurunan 11,7% pada sampel I (debit 0,5 lt/menit), sampel II 28,6% (debit 1 lt/menit) dan sampel III sebesar 30,4% (debit 2 lt/menit), 2) Kadar mangan (Mn) mengalami penurunan 23,3% pada sampel I (debit 0,5 lt/menit), sampel II 28,6% (debit 1 lt/menit) dan sampel III 29,1% (debit 2 lt/menit), 3) Kadar kekeruhan turun sebesar 57,9% pada sampel I (debit 0,5 lt/menit), sampel II 43,2% (debit 1 lt/menit) dan sampel III 28,2% (debit 2 lt/menit), 4) Kadar bakteriologis (coliform) turun 54,7% pada sampel I (debit 0,5 lt/menit), sampel II 71,9% (debit 1 lt/menit) dan sampel III 73,4% (debit 2 lt/menit). Untuk lebih mengoptimalkan hasil pengolahan disarankan pada penelitian selanjutnya agar menambah ketebalan media saring, menambah jumlah kolom filter atau mengkombinasikan dengan proses pengolahan lain seperti koagulasi dan sedimentasi sebelum proses filtrasi. Kata Kunci : Pengolahan air sumur gali, saringan air bertekanan

Abstract

Pneumonia merupakan penyebab kedua kematian balita di dunia. Berbagai strategi telah dilakukan tetapi insiden pneumonia pada anak masih tetap tinggi. Tujuan literatur review adalah mengkaji efektivitas strategi pengendalian pneumonia untuk menurunkan angka kematian anak di Indonesia. Literatur review melalui penelusuran artikel publikasi tahun 2008-2018 pada Science Direct, EBSCO, PubMed, Google Scholar yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Penilaian kualitas penelitian menggunakan pedoman SQUIRE (Standards for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence).

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a public health concern in Indonesia. One of the factors contributing to stunting is inadequate household environmental sanitation. Poor sanitation can increase the risk of infectious diseases that hinder children’s growth and development. Objective: To describe environmental sanitation facilities in households with stunted children under five in the service area of the Daya Murni Inpatient Health Center, Tumijajar District, West Tulang Bawang Regency, in 2026. Methods: This descriptive study used a total sampling technique involving 19 households with stunted children under five. Data were collected through interviews and observations using a checklist and analyzed using univariate analysis. Results: Most environmental sanitation facilities did not meet health standards, including water supply facilities (73.7%), household latrines (57.9%), solid waste disposal facilities (89.5%), and wastewater disposal facilities (84.2%). Conclusion: Environmental sanitation conditions in households with stunted children under five remained inadequate. Therefore, improvements in basic sanitation facilities and increased community education are needed to support efforts to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a communicable disease and a major public health problem in Indonesia. The media and building conditions of houses occupied by pulmonary tuberculosis patients play an important role in the transmission of this disease. This study aimed to describe the media and building conditions of houses occupied by pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the Working Area of Gedong Air Public Health Center, Bandar Lampung City, in 2026, covering occupancy density, bedroom lighting, bedroom humidity, bedroom temperature, and bedroom ventilation rate. This study employed a quantitative descriptive design with an observational approach. A total of 60 houses of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and interviews and were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that most of the media and building conditions of houses occupied by pulmonary tuberculosis patients did not meet health requirements in terms of occupancy density, bedroom lighting, bedroom humidity, bedroom temperature, and bedroom ventilation rate. It can be concluded that the media and building conditions of houses occupied by pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the Working Area of Gedong Air Public Health Center, Bandar Lampung City, in 2026 were predominantly not in accordance with healthy housing requirements. Therefore, education for patients and their families regarding health-compliant media and building requirements, particularly related to occupancy density, bedroom lighting, bedroom humidity, bedroom temperature, and bedroom ventilation rate, is needed to help reduce the risk of pulmonary tuberculosis transmission.
