Abstract

Jerawat adalah suatu keadaan dimana pori-pori kulit tersumbat sehingga timbul bintik merah dan abses yang meradang  pada kulit.  Pengobatan jerawat dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian antibiotik, namun  mempunyai resiko resistensi terhadap tubuh dan dapat mengiritasi kulit.Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut diperlukan pengobatan alternatif menggunakan ekstrak gel  Lidah buaya                       (Aloe vera) yang mempunyai kandungan tanin, lignin, saponin dan.barboloin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antibakteri ekstrak gel lidah buaya (Aloe vera) terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acne. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan metode difusi cara sumuran. Ekstrak gel lidah buaya diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan etanol 70% sebagai pelarut. Ekstrak  gel lidah buaya yang diperoleh kemudian diencerkan dengan menggunakan PEG 5% pada konsentrasi 60%, 70%, 80%,  90% dan 100%. Sampel bakteri Propionibacterium acnes diperoleh dari jerawat orang yang matang yang diidentifikasi di laboratorium. Kontrol positif menggunakan klindamisin dan kontrol negatif menggunakanPEG 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak gel lidah buaya pada konsentrasi 60%, 70%, 80%,  90% dan 100% memiliki rata-rata diameter zona hambat terhadap Propionibacterium acnes  sebesar 6,7 mm; 8,3 mm;12,7 mm; 14,7 mm; 17,3 mm. Kontrol positif (klindamisin) sebesar 20,7 mm dan kontrol negatif (PEG 5 %) tidak memiliki nilai untuk dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri.   Ekstrak gel lidah buaya pada konsentrasi 80%, 90 dan 100% efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri  Propionibacterium acnes, sedangkan konsentrasi 60% dan 70% tidak efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri  Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAda banyak kasus resistensi bakteri karena penggunaan antibiotik yang tidak tepat. Ini akan menyebabkan meluasnya resistensi. Staphylococcus aureus telah diketahui resisten terhadap antibiotik golongan penisilin. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan pengobatan alternatif dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan alami. Daun pegagan (Centella asiatica) mengandung senyawa aktif seperti flavonoid, tanin, fenol, saponin dan steroid yang bersifat antibakteri karena dapat merusak dinding sel bakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas antibakteri ekstrak daun pegagan terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan metode difusi cara cakram. Daun pegagan diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan etanol 90% sebagai pelarut. Ekstrak pegagan yang telah dibuat kemudian diencerkan menggunakan aquades steril pada konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%. Kontrol positif menggunakan amphicilin 10 µg dan kontrol negatif menggunakan aquades steril. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak daun pegagan  dengan konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% memiliki rata-rata diameter zona hambat terhadap Staphylococcus aureus sebesar 15 mm, 17,6 mm, 20 mm, 21,6 mm, dan 25 mm. Kontrol positif (ampicilin 10 µg) sebesar 40 mm dan kontrol negatif (aquades steril ) sebesar 0 mm. Ekstrak pegagan pada konsentrasi 60%, 80% dan 100% efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus sedangkan konsentrasi 20% dan 40% tidak efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureusKata kunci : Efektifitas; Ekstrak daun pegagan; Staphylococcus aureus.ABSTRACTThere are many cases of bacterial resistance due to inappropriate use of antibiotics. This will cause widespread resistance. Staphylococcus aureus has been known to be resistant to penicillin class antibiotics. Therefore it is necessary to do alternative medicine using natural ingredients. Pegagan (Centella asiatica) leaves contain active compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, phenol, saponins and steroid which are antibacterial because they can damage bacterial cell walls. This study aims to determine the antibacterial effectiveness of pegagan leaf extract against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This type of research is an experimental study with the disc diffusion method. Pegagan leaves were extracted by maceration method using 90% ethanol as solvent. The pegagan extract that had been made was then diluted using sterile distilled water at concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%. Positive control used 10 µg amphicillin and negative control used sterile distilled water. The results showed that the pegagan leaf extract with concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% had an average diameter of the inhibition zone against Staphylococcus aureus of 15 mm, 17.6 mm, 20 mm, 21.6 mm, and 25 mm. The positive control (ampicillin 10 µg) was 40 mm and the negative control (sterile distilled water) was 0 mm. Pegagan extract at concentrations of 60%, 80% and 100% was effective in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, while concentrations of 20% and 40% were not effective in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.Keywords : effective; pegagan leaf extract; Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

The leaves of the lidah mertua (Sansevieria trifasciata var. Laurentii) contain saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids and polyphenols which work as antibacterials because they can damage bacterial cell walls. This study aims to determine the activity of the ethanol extract of the lidah mertua leaves on the growth of Klebseilla pneumoniae based on the inhibition zone diameter. The test was carried out by extracting the lidah mertua of the in leaves with the maceration method using ethanol as a solvent. This type of research is laboratory experimental. The method used was the inhibition test method with disc discs and tested using a dilution with a concentration of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the in-lidah mertua leaves with a concentration of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100% could inhibit the growth of the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteria with an average diameter of the inhibition zone, respectively 7 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm. , 12 mm and 13 mm. The ability to inhibit bacterial growth in the disc disc method for a concentration of 100% is categorized as very strong because it has an average inhibition zone diameter of 12 mm, for a concentration of 70%, 80%, and 90% is categorized as strong because it has an average inhibition zone diameter of 8- 12 mm, while the 60% concentration is categorized as weak because it has an average inhibition zone diameter of 8 mm based on the Vasanthakumari category. The antibacterial activity test in inhibiting the growth of Klebsiella pneumonia has the highest value at a concentration of 100%

Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) is a step that must be taken to achieve an optimal health degree for everyone. Cultivating a healthy lifestyle in society must be initiated and worked on from oneself. Meanwhile, public awareness of health and hygiene and healthy lifestyles, especially rural communities is still very low. For this reason, presenting counseling is expected to increase public knowledge and awareness of the importance of making clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in daily life so that a better health degree can be realized.
