Abstract

The low level of student activity in Social Studies Education courses is a problem for students' ability to interact well with fellow students, lecturers and learning resources. This condition requires the application of an effective learning model to increase student learning activity in the classroom. This study answered two research questions, namely how student learning activities in Social Studies Education courses use Make a Match cooperative learning and how to apply Make a Match cooperative learning models in increasing student learning activities in Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were the fifth semester students of Class C of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program who attended the Social Studies Education for Elementary School course as many as 47 students. Research data were collected through observation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results showed that (1) the dominant aspects of learning activities in Social Studies Education courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model were aspects of group interaction and aspects of answering questions; and (2) Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model can increase student learning activities, the indications are that the percentage score of student learning activities is above 70 (78.72%).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in improving learning achievement. The subjects of this study were students of class IVB at SD Negeri Kentungan Yogyakarta, with a total of 27 students consisting of 16 male students and 11 female students. This study uses the TPACK approach, the use of TPACK really helps students to be more focused and easy to understand the lesson because of the presentation of the material with an attractive appearance. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research instrument used in collecting data was in the form of test questions for learning outcomes from the pre-cycle stage, the final stage of the first cycle and the final test stage of the second cycle and observation sheets. Learning outcomes at the pre-cycle stage show that 60% of students have not reached the KKM. In the first cycle, the learning outcomes showed an increase, namely 70% of students had reached the KKM, then in the second cycle there was an increase again, namely 90% of the students achieved the KKM score. The results of this study indicate that the PBL model helps students to think critically in solving problems and find creative ideas that become solutions to each problem, both finding answers individually and in the form of group discussions. Based on the data above, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve PPKn learning achievement of class IVB students of Kentungan Yogyakarta Elementary School. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas IVB SD Negeri Kentungan Yogyakarta, dengan jumlah 27 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 16 siswa laki-laki dan 11 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan TPACK, penggunaan TPACK sangat membantu siswa untuk lebih fokus dan mudah memahami pelajaran karena penyajian materi dengan tampilan yang menarik. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakakan dalam pengumulan data berupa soal tes hasil belajar dari tahap pra siklus, tahap akhir siklus I dan tahap tes akhir siklus II serta lembar observasi. Hasil prestasi belajar pada tahap pra siklus menunjukkan bahwa 60% siswa belum mencapai KKM. Pada siklus I hasil belajar menunjukkan peningkatan yaitu 70% siswa telah mencapai KKM, kemudian pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan kembali yaitu terdapat 90% peserta didik mencapai nilai KKM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model PBL membantu peserta didik untuk berfikir kritis dalam memecahkan masalah serta menemukan ide-ide kreatif yang menjadi solusi pada setiap masalah, baik penemuan jawaban secara individu maupun dalam bentuk diskusi kelompok. Berdasarkan data di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar PPKn siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Kentungan Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of teaching materials based on local wisdom in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to develop teaching materials in the form of thematic modules based on local wisdom about the uniqueness of the Gunungkidul Regency area that was suitable for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research used Research and Development (R&D). This research procedure used the ADDIE model, namely analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The subjects of this study were experts, teachers, and four-grade elementary school students. This research used interview guidelines, expert validation questionnaires, and response questionnaires obtained from teachers and students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This research used qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the data. Expert assessment results showed that the modul is considered appropriate to be tested in which this decision is previously proven by the validation from the instructional media expert and thematic learning expert. The validation score from the instructional media expert is 3,00 (good category). The validation score for thematic learning expert is 3,36 (very good category). The average score of teachers’ questionnaire responses is 3,66 (very good category). The average score of the limited trial is 3,48 (very good category). The implication of this research is the need to disseminate the idea of using local wisdom for social studies learning resources.Keywords: teching materials, thematic modul, local wisdom

Abstract

Keterampilan komunikasi di abad 21 sangat penting dan relevan dengan tujuan mata kuliah Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Two stay two stray (TS-TS) merupakan model pembelajaran yang potensial untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peran stay dan stray dalam peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Pembelajaran IPS dengan model TS-TS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester dua Prodi PGSD Universitas Sanata Dharma yang mengikuti mata kuliah Pembelajaran IPS. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini mengungkap temuan, yaitu: (1) peran stay dalam TS-TS Pembelajaran IPS mengembangkan kemampuan menjelaskan dan kepercayaan diri, tetapi menghadapi tantangan dalam kejelasan penyampaian dan penyesuaian gaya komunikasi. (2) peran stray dalam TS-TS Pembelajaran IPS menunjukkan kemampuan mendengarkan dan bertanya yang baik, namun terkendala oleh faktor eksternal seperti kecepatan bicara dan lingkungan. Proses umpan balik melalui tanya jawab menjadi inti dari efektivitas komunikasi. Implikasi temuan ini adalah untuk memaksimalkan komunikasi yang lebih efektif maka perlu perbaikan pada aspek teknis komunikasi dan manajemen lingkungan pembelajaran.
